Upon closer inspection - that pile of oyster shells COULD have washed up on a strong high tide. They were indeed right at the end of that little path. Hard to say. This dog is so dear to me. And she's roughly 13 years old and NEVER been swimming before! This was her very first attempt in any body of water. Nessie is my parent's pup, but we have a close bond, as i often drop by the house. So, she's not my dog. If she was, she'd have been introduced to the water long before! There was an EPIC downpour in the following moments. It was so bad that at its peak, right after i arrived at nearby Cult Classic Brewing, i waited 25 minutes for it to pass - even though it was about a 25' walk from car to bar. i would have been thoroughly drenched in 7 seconds. i deleted this last night because i realized that, once again, i confounded the distinct issues of the trolley line and the B&O RXR (and possibly others). The Ellicott Bros. used the dirt roads at first and then the railroad as soon as it was connected, in the 1830s. The Trolley line and trail came decades later.
