BULL MOOSE are SMARTER than you THINK
Those gangly odd looking and seemingly dumb moose will surprise you. Biologists that have studied a bull moose with the use of radio telemetry for five years have been humbled time and time again trying to move in close. What I have to share with you about moose in this episode will put it all into perspective. You will think differently about moose after watching this. If you have gotten a bull moose tag for the Maine moose hunt then you need to watch this. You will hunt much smarter after watching this and hopefully get your trophy bull moose. You will be better prepared to go locate some bull moose to hunt. You will hunt smarter and not harder.

Maine Black Bear Hunt
Просмотров 131День назад
The full story of how a large old black bear was taken in the state of Maine. This black bear was actually a dry sow that - like the fool that I am - kept calling a boar (which is a male black bear). This black bear was a dry sow that could no longer have cubs. It was a good black bear to take. It was nearly fifteen years old. The teeth were wore down to the gums. I obviously will not shoot a s...

HOW to BAIT BLACK BEARS
Просмотров 23628 дней назад
This video will help you get a black bear! If you’re new to hunting black bears then this video is for you. Or perhaps you have been baiting black bears for a few years but without much or any success. This video will explain what you might be doing wrong and causing the bears to go nocturnal.
Baiting Black Bears is a Process! Bear season in Maine
Просмотров 647Месяц назад
Contrary to what most non-bear hunters may think baiting black bears DOES NOT GUARANTEE SUCCESS!!! It's quite the process that takes a special kind of hunter who pays close attention to details. Black bears are the smartest wild animal roaming the forests. The hunter going for an old giant black bear might actually not succeed the first, second or even third time hunting black bears over baits....

I was leaving to go buy these before I checked the plan prices. Cost more than my cell phone which is ridiculous. The fact that each camera needs its own plan is insane. Then the month to month is another 50% practically over annual. Just a rip off.
I totally get it. I too wasn’t sure if it would be worth it. Actually I now own 7 and plan to go buy two more. The more you run the cheaper it gets. I’m now being charged the Pro-Rated monthly fee of 6.99$. Also you can choose to just run these cameras for one month, two months, three or more and shut off subscription at anytime. Then resume subscription for next hunting season. When I do buy a couple more I will actually pay for the whole year up front. It’s the better option when you do have many cameras.
"I don't know if you noticed."
What you think of the story about what that Biologist told me about the bull they were studying? Yeah….. I know I’m notorious for repeating….. Trust me, I’m trying to edit a lot of it out and get better at catching myself, lol.
Good.luck getting your yogi I am in blind watching the bait as well👍👍🤘🤘🐻🐻💯💯👊!!
Bro is in shorts 👀
Yesssssah!!!! Hahahaha…. J is hard core!!!!!
If a black bear walks on your deck and past your house into the woods. How long do you think they stay in the area? Congrats on the hunt
A black bear is impossible to pattern as they are very unpredictable. The only pattern that you can put on them is once they find a food source that will sustain them for a few days you can bet they will be around for as long as that hot food source is available. So if that bear of yours has nothing to eat nearby then he or she is long gone. It’s most likely somewhere where it has everything it needs for a day or two until it’s time to move onto the next available source of food.
No the reason you fox hunt is because your an asshole who only cares for yourself
Snowflake 😂
Money from hunting fees licenses and gear are responsible for the bulk of conservation funds. Most people are shocked to find that out.
AMEN!!!!!! My friend!!!!!!
. New setup and mix effective go hit this past week unfortunately I was in bed sick. But excited to catch yogi/ boo boo coming back next time. Set up in thick woods near a swamp bout 100yrds from brook that runs thru center. Had 1 pic 50 yards up trail the night before I put bait out.
Hoping to fill my fall bear tag here in WA State. We get to harvest two bears per year (we ended up losing our spring bear hunt)
I hope you do get one! I’ll be heading out for a bear this Thursday. Are you able to use bait in WA? Or are you spotting and stalking?
Always enjoy your videos.
Thank you Randy!!!! I appreciate you very much!!! Best of luck this season!!!
@@SpikesandGills Headed to Garland for a few days during the extended hunt. Any areas that would be worth taking a walk with my bow. I may have a free day 😊
@@randydixon7932 I don’t know the Garland area but I wish you the best of luck. Have you had any success with your bow over the years? I just shot my biggest black bear and it weighed 235 lbs dressed.
@@SpikesandGills Yes, just down south lol. Good luck this Season.
Can you put pics of manual? I don't have a manual and can't find one! 😢 😭
I’m looking for instructions. I’ve searched the web and couldn’t find anything other than my videos and a few other unboxing videos that didn’t amount to much. I don’t have my instruction manual anymore. The best bet is to just ask MUDDY to mail you instructions. Go to the MUDDY website and send them a message.
Trying a new bait this year boat bag of whole oats from tractor supply horse section. And some apple butterscotch deer attractant. To mix with it. Got my barrel chained to a tree see how it goes. Good luck ☘️ on your bear hunt👍👍🤘🤘💯💯!!
I’ve been using Moultrie for quite some time now. Never tried any other cameras till this year, I ran into a couple problems with my stuff, texted with support for 30 mins and then they said they couldn’t help me and advised me to call in. Sat on hold for 40 minutes and never talked to anybody. Terrible service, and my brand new Moultrie edge 2 will not connect to my phone. Ive already paid for the $30 plan as well. Loss on my end but I’ll never use this company again. Tactacam is so much easier to use. I’ll be switching over fully within the next month.
It was a fun trip
Yeah it was buddy!!!! I really want you to try again by next year.
Dude it took me way to long to see the entire thing I only saw the tail flicker and THEN saw the deer
BOY DO DEER BLEND IN!!! They can be tricky to spot at times and that’s why hunters must train themselves to spot bits and pieces of deer while slowly scanning their surroundings.
I’m going to give it a try, my only concern is this will be used on public land. I’ll have to hide it in a stump 👍
Sweeet! Oh man I hope no one steals it. I currently own 7. I’ve had batteries last over a year in like five of the seven. One didn’t want to connect to any cellular network after I put new batteries in. The employees at MOULTRIE are the best! I called to let them know and they were able to diagnose the problem right away. All I had to do was email them a picture of the box that I packaged the broken camera in and they overnighted me a new one. I’ve been quite impressed with the cameras capabilities and the MOULTRIE company as a whole. I wish you the best of luck!!!!!
Nothing to eat 😮 😂😂😂thats nice 👍
That big brown wasn’t sticking around to find out if he was going to be food, Hahahaha…. But we had plenty to eat at camp!
Nice. River was a touch fast..
Oh boy!!!! Was it ever!!!! lol!!! I’m sure Jason already told you all about the trip. Thank you for watching Mike.
Get a real fucking camera, that narrow screen is just stupid No I didn’t watch your vid, why would I with that format?
Family.is well smallmouth fishing has been great so far at the lake. 2 coves.i scouted this spring went back 41 at first cove 56 at the other.
Oh, that’s great! Glad to know you are all doing well! Maybe we’ll run into each other again sometime soon. Perhaps on a lake or out hunting somewhere. So, you’re slaying the smallmouth bass!!! I love catching them on a fly rod. I caught a few on the trip to the Kennebec. Have a great day! Stay in touch.
👍👍🤘🤘🎣🎣💯💯👊 tight lines!!
Thank you Jason!!!! We are catching some really nice brown trout and my friend caught a nice rainbow trout today. Are you and your family doing much fishing lately? Any good fishing stories to tell?
Thank you! I’m getting one today! 🙌
Sweet! I’m having great success with them. I actually bought two more a few weeks ago. I now own 7. I hope you enjoy it and have lots of hunting success!!!!
In reference to the book, “Hunting Old Moxie” by Al Michaud.
I think it was a young boar. Young slender looking face, with large ears. Also had a thin evenly proportioned body. Usually Sows are shorter length, and heavier in the rump.
GREAT ANSWER
How about I hunt you
Wild boar.
Another great guess!!! Wild pigs 🐷 🐖 🐽/ Boars do dig through the soil and scrape the leaves and other forest debris. This animal only has two legs…..
Opossum
Opossums do forage and so do a lot of other critters. This species of animal forages through the leaves most of the day. What would you guess this time?
Squirrel? My Second choice would have been raccoon, but they're nocturnal.
@@ryansmith1926 Great guess! I was actually scouting for good places to hunt when I found this tell tale sign. It’s not Grey Squirrel season and I wasn’t after red squirrels. This hint should help you nail it!
Turkey
@@ryansmith1926 YES!!!
bearS, the plural form of the woods bear has an S.
Gotta love those black bears!!! Are you hunting bear this year?
Sucks how you cant just watch the video footage in live time yourself that would be nice
Sweeet idea!!! That would be great!!!
We run a guide up here in the upper peninsula of Michigan,I love baiting and retrieveing of the harvest.. nothing like a rush tracking bears love it 👍
Very cool!!! Black bears are truly one of Americas Icons.
Thank god a hunter without a pack of dogs now this is a hunter you DAM dog users
Definitely a controversial way of going after bears. I personally don’t have the slightest interest in chasing bears with dogs. On the other hand I don’t disrespect those who do. It’s just such a touchy topic. We must tread lightly. I know what can and has happened to dogs during chases. I know the bears anxiety is through the roof and they can be extremely unpredictable and dangerous. Dogs and humans beware!
Don't move too much laugh out loud as you been talking the whole entire time
Yes Sir
We can hunt another bear cuz I got them chained up on the island for us cuz I'm a dumbass
bad talk
Please explain
can't hear you over the music
Sorry about that. I rarely use music in my videos now. That video was a year or two old.
ELBOW DROP
RIGHT!!! lol!!!!
Good luck out there Justin. It's been slow here as well👍👍🤘🤘☘️☘️🦃🦃💯💯👊!!
Thank you sir!!!! I hope you have a great year!!!!! My turkey hunting season was shortened a week because of blueberry farming responsibilities.
Horrible day for a hunt, but it looks like it worked out nice for ya!
Oh it was! lol! But I wasn’t missing opening morning, lol. That storm actually cleared out before the afternoon.
Can you install on seat in the center of the platform
Yes. It would work best in center without the second seat. This way you would have plenty of room. I actually wouldn’t mind mine being installed that way. But I thought I’d be using it with my son. He doesn’t climb ladders and is afraid of heights.
It’s not right to barell hunt
This method is extremely debatable but it actually allows the person pursuing the black bears to see bears and to be more selective so they shoot an older bear. Unless a hunter traveled to Alaska or North to Canada to spot and stalk black bears in wide open country they will not see black bears unless using an attraction like bait to draw them out of the thickest of swamps and woods. In most of Americas black bear country the forests hide these critters extremely well and it makes it nearly impossible to spot one.
Nice pair of birds👍👍🤘🤘🦃🦃💯💯👊!!
Thank you Jason. Are you going to hunt turkey 🦃 this year?
Heading out in couple minutes
@@jasongibson8295 PERFECT!!! My 11 year old son missed one Saturday. I hope you get one!!!!!
Thanks Justin hope the young man gets his ☘️☘️👍👍🤘🤘🦃🦃💯💯👊!!
Nice some fancy gear you got there👍👍🤘🤘💯💯👊!!
Thanks for watching!!! Really not a bad camera arm for the money. I feel like it’s decent quality and very affordable. Do you use any kind of camera arm for filming your hunts??? If so, what do you think of them?
@SpikesandGills I do not don't even have.a camera except my phone.
@@jasongibson8295 You can film A roll, B roll and point of view clips, edit and upload fully produced videos all with a smartphone. There’s all kinds of fancy tripods for smartphones. I have one that folds up to credit card size and fits in my wallet. Some of my best videos that have earned me the most revenue have been 100% produced with my phone. You can do it too!!!! Anyone can as long as they at least have an Android or iPhone.
@SpikesandGills first I have to get good at hunting. Are filled with hours of watching squirrels and woodpeckers. Occasionally I'll see a critter but usually not 1 that's in season.
@@jasongibson8295 Ahhhhhh… Gotchya! But you got this bud!
It’s not the size of the tool it show you use it shrimp gang
Hahahaha 👀😂😆🤪😜sure thing!
Very good tip on waiting for that Tom . I had a group of hens and they were being followed by big Tom but I couldn’t get him to come to me . The birds moved off to another area and I stayed and fell asleep against stone wall . 2 hours later I heard something coming in the dry leaves . It was him coming back to investigate. Game over 💥
Yes!!!! Great advice for all turkey hunters. It’s how I get 90% of my big old gobblers. Those 3 to 5 year old Tom’s are a lot harder to fool.
Nice video. I learned something new today😊
Odd.....ive always had to go out weeks prior to opening day to scout for scrapes, trails, food sources, bedding, droppings etc to figure out where deer are traveling to anf from. Then set up a stand and go out at 4am before prime deer activity time and silence and patience was the only ingredients i needed. Never knew real hunting was this way...
You hit the nail on the head! Yes, this all applies when it’s go time. The GRIND is real!!! We can never overlook the importance of deer sign. Putting all the pieces of the puzzle together are what drives me. The hunt never ends!!!!
Or you can get of your _ss and hunt.
YES SIR!!!! There’s something said about becoming one with the forest and being the ultimate predator. Materializing into your surroundings and fooling the deer’s senses is so much fun and tricky all at the same time. Do you hunt with a bow or only a firearm? Are you one of those trackers that wait for snow?
I've seen some of those videos but I prefer Jeff Sturgis at whitetail habitat solutions.. it's great to see all the critters come in and check it out after putting work on the habbitat.
I love them guys over at Whitetail Habitat Solutions. I learn a bunch from watching their videos and lately I have been learning a bunch from Bill Winke. I appreciate you for taking time to watch my videos. I hope you’re able to get out there and do some whitetail habitat work.
@SpikesandGills I have been and got lots more to do. Just got to repair equipment. And got 1 new area to plant clover but the foodplots going to wait and plant fall blends as I don't have bow permit or equipment yet. So rifle season it is. Wich means planting winter rye in August and September. Yeah no problem. Glad to support your yt channel.
The only drawback is the no SIM card which requires a monthly purchase of $10/month.
The $8.00 to $9.00 a month for this type of trail camera isn’t really all that bad when compared to others. You can just pay for one month, two, three months or year round. I’ve been finding that having many of these cameras like around 6 or 7 EDGE cameras that MOULTRIE will discount the monthly charge. Sort of like a promotional rate. They’ve been really good to deal with. I’m actually going to buy a couple of the MOULTRIE EDGE PROS this year.
You don't kill the tree??
Correct!!!! Hinge cutting done right allows the tree to stay alive. The cambium layer (the living cellular reproductive part of the tree trunk) continues to supply the sugar water to the branches and leaves. It’s a tricky business indeed.
