I am fairly sure I know what was bothering you. Parts of the drum fills were manufactured by computer, basically pre-recorded backing track behind the live drums. You are not used to hearing that from this band, which is completely understandable. They have ALWAYS been known as one of the greatest Live Bands on Earth so hearing them do something 'not-quite-so-live' in an MV is a little bit weird. But it does keep you on your toes. :)

I'm a Nightwish fan. I think Floor Jansen is if not the best , one of of the best vocalists out there now. But what I love the most is all the reactions to this Ghost Love Score at Wacken. The look on their faces when Floor hits those notes is awesome to see.

You are an Opera Singer, who does not realise that you have just watch an Opera. What you do on stage is sing and tell an story and do it well;: Ren is no different he just does it better. He has no Director or Producer, he is the Director and Producer, he has no editor, no need everything is done in one live take, he has no need to practice his lines or words, he wrote them, he has no need to learn the music played,; he composed much of that to. What you have just observed was a Brilliant live (one take) Opera, Created by an once in several generation gifted genius. I mean Shakespeare is an renowned bard. Ren is on par or better, Beethoven could right a melody, Ren does effortlessly, Isaac Newton was an great thinker of his day; Ren points out modern day issues and gives solutions. Understand that you are not watching an every day music video, you are watching an Opera, entirely produced and performed by an once in generations genius.

Cecilia is my favorite as well. I saw her at Carnegie Hall about a decade ago and she was simply mesmerizing. I was lucky enough to be in the 2nd row middle seat right in front of her. If you watched the crowd while she was singing, everyone was smiling. Her happiness, joy, and energy were so infectious. She does these little jumpy dancing things and she's not only a superb singer but she's just adorable. You can feel her love for the music and for singing.

I have watched her in the past and it is good to hear other thoughts on it. I am a lover of singing and learning. I watched all the "this is opera" videos, and I really feel they have a point. I think that to say Anna Nebreko is always bad is incorrect though. The live voice has good days and bad days. I think some of her songs are really beautiful. The thing that I have been trying to figure out for a while is the middle range with opera. Some famous sopranos sound great on the high notes, but try to bring the head down so far they loose power and clarity. She just sounds natural and amazing. I have seen some videos on original pronunciation in Shakespeare. My point is, I think opera turned into something that doesn't resonate as well with the masses as it used to.

It took Tatiana 12 years to train her growl this way. But this is how she can switch cleanly between the two styles. Another bit of info: This video was made to highlight their new drummer, who has had no formal training in drums - he is a classically trained pianist who taught himself so he could play in Jinjer. Hahaha I JUST stumbled upon this song today and have listened to it uncountable times...have been having fun watching peoples reactions. Their blend of beautiful melodic with King.Raspy...they are BOTH unbelievable. PLEASE MAKE A DUO ALBUM!!! They are having SO MUCH FUN together, all the band members.

I've seen Nightwish perform live , Wiltern theater Los Angeles 2022.. I was 70 years old at the time and i personally been listening to all kinds of Rock and playing it in clubs since the 60's. and have seen many live shows by some of the greats. The keyboard player, and composer of this song , Tuomas Holopainen's muse was Metallica, whom he saw back in the day , Kansas City when they were on tour with Gun's an Roses. The rest is musical history. Needless to say the Band is tight and Floor Jansen has got to one of the most charismatic , front woman and vocalist's on Earth. Jules, your interpretation of this song was spot on.
