Crossfits Cardio Problem...
In this video, we dive into a major issue with CrossFit - its cardio problem. Despite being marketed as the ultimate way to get fit, many CrossFit workouts fall short when it comes to meeting the recommended guidelines for aerobic activity. We'll explore how these short, intense sessions might not provide enough sustained cardio to improve long-term cardiovascular health or stamina. I’ve polled my audience and share insights on how this impacts fitness.
As I shift my focus toward hybrid training, including Hyrox and other endurance-focused activities, I’m finding new ways to build strength and stamina while still enjoying functional fitness. Is CrossFit still the best approach for overall ...

    Two things, I feel like the starting part of the class counts as low intensity movement, so we might be hitting 30-40 mins towards the low intensity movement health goals in that section. And second I think we do get fitter, but the beauty of the wod is that you constantly push yourself so you don't always realise that you're fitter. For general health goals I think CrossFit is great. I'd have to add some long cardio sessions to do a hyrox though.

      It makes me money, saves me time and means I don’t have to refilm the same meal/movement over and over. It’s not “seeking validation” it’s my JOB 🤣🙃. How’s getting mad at content you don’t like serving you? It’s certainly not paying you a wage that’s for sure. In fact I think the only thing it’s likely doing is making you an increasingly bitter and nasty person… if it’s even possible you’d think you’d already maxed that out.

    healthy BFP range also depends on the amount of muscles you have and the density of your bones. When I visited a dietician to see how my weight loss process was going she did this test that told me I had very dense bones and they could support more muscles than an average woman and therefore I could have slightly more BF.

    In a video can you explain heartzones please and how long is it okay you stay in them…(asking for an anxious friend aka me 😓)? Also can you further explain how it’s okay to have a low heart rate if you’re active 🥹…

    • @sportybeth
      @sportybeth 2 дня назад

      Resting heart rate and heart rate during exercise are different. Heart rate zones are ranges that represent different levels of exercise intensity based on your maximum heart rate (MHR). They are typically divided into five zones: Zone 1 (50-60% of MHR) is light activity, great for warm-ups and recovery; Zone 2 (60-70%) focuses on building endurance and fat burning; Zone 3 (70-80%) is moderate exercise for aerobic fitness; Zone 4 (80-90%) is high intensity, improving speed and performance; and Zone 5 (90-100%) is maximum effort, used for short bursts like sprints. Training in different zones helps optimize fitness and performance based on your goals. Some training at “low” HR is really beneficial.

    • @sportybeth

    • @cassenav
      @cassenav 2 дня назад

      IMO, the bands are better than the machine because they give you less assist at the top of the pull up (which is the point that most people start struggling at!)

      We practice by active hangs, scapula pull ups, jumping pull ups, negative pull ups and banded. We fix the band horizontal between the two poles first, so you swing less and have less advantage from some swinging momentum when practising strict. When practising kipping we use it this way. Hope this helps you with the band situation 🙂

      @ChrisL-qz9dy День назад

      @mosaicmatt asking her for advice on pull ups is like asking a cop for legal advice. Anyways, all 3 of those assisted pull ups have their advantages; there's no "best". I prefer seated as it allows me to focus more on back/lats but some people swear by the band. Test and experiment, that's all you can do.

I myself have struggled with an ED since I can remember. From being to thin to slightly overweight. And I can tell you, I was my fittest when I wasn’t skinny. I did CrossFit five times a week. Now I’m in a normal weight range and I don’t do anything. My resting heart rate is between 70-80. So healthy but you can clearly see I’ll be out of breath by the second floor. So you go and impress them all ❤
