thank you! yes, i make all my own music for my videos. honestly, that might be my favorite part of making videos, is making the music to go with them. have you made zines yourself? or do you collect them?

@@daspetey I want to start making zines. I tried making one using the one page method, but like you, I didn't find it very good. I want to start making illustration zines soon.

@@adeadgirl13 yeah, the one page method doesn't really work for me. the easiest would be to fold 3 pieces of copy paper in half and staple them. maybe that would work better for you?

@@daspetey Still working to find it, but I think being patient with yourself is definitely a key part. Creativity rarely seems to like constraints, and when the luxury is there to not have a hard deadline, maybe it's best to go with our instincts on when, what, and how to be doing them. I'm glad to let you know that it's not all going into the void. You were heard and you gave me a smile and plenty to think about on my end.

thank you! yeah, i've tried other gadgets that have delays, but i like the PS-02 the best for that. it's also nice, because you can set the feedback to be a little lower, which lets the beat/loop decay a little over time. that way things don't bunch up too much, frequency-wise.

i actually do think your phone is the best solution for that. i have a ton of little gadgets that are great for one thing or another, but nothing really beats the phone. i would look into iMaschine as a beat-making app. it can record audio too. that's probably my favorite tool for getting a full song idea down.

thank you! yeah, I find that I'm less playful at my computer too. and a lot of these gadgets bring that playfulness out a bit more. I also just bought the Teenage Engineering KO 2. I think it's similar to the Roland, but it seems way more portable.

that's a great idea! I've used some of the "beats" I made with it, as like a field recording style noisy ambient crunchy beat in some stuff, but I haven't truly recreated a full song from a sketch yet. I think I may try that.

@@daspetey it's very grainy.....Vocals surprisingly come out perfect...... we mainly do lo-fi with it.....but my husband is xperim. vocals into his dub reggae.
