    We finally got a handle on the gopher problem here using TomCat bait chunks. Made bait stations using boards with a couple of spikes. Just did sauerkraut on Monday about 15 gallons worth. We tried the raised bed thing...a lot of work to to keep watered during dry weather and also problems with freeze out during typical winter temps. Your garden is really doing well for as late as it was put in. We've trimmed the runners and blossoms off the squash so the plants will concentrate on finishing the fruit that is on it. Any new fruit added to the vines now probably won't amount to much.

      @@greatnorthernn-3154 thank you for all the great advice, it didn’t occur to me that the plants might not survive in raised beds here. I guess I’ll have to try to get the gophers under control first, I’ll try the bait because they’re taking over everything here.

    Been living in central ND for 4 years after living in southern Orange County CA for my whole 23 years of life (now 27). More practical to raise a family, everything is cheaper for the most part, and people are nicer. I’m so grateful the Lord brought my husband to me who is from here, his family, and our little one. I hope you enjoy and think about the many benefits (even during our 6 months of winter at times).

    Garden looks good...if the killing frost delays until the end of Sept. you should do really well. We just harvested the garlic and started on the pickles here. Challenges for us this season are deer, gophers, and sprayer drift. I think the weed you're pulling was a red rooted pigweed.

    This is not hate, everyone starts somewhere but two pieces of advise. DO NOT EVER for any reason reach under the deck of a running lawn mower, if that PTO malfunctioned, slipped or was bumped your going at the minimum loose whatever limb is under the deck. Also never run a tiller in flip flops, especially a rear tine where your feet are so close to the tines. don't let one bad decision be the reason you life/limbs are altered forever

    • @TheRealBigfeet
      @TheRealBigfeet Месяц назад

      As an amputee who had the luxury of consultation and plenty of warning about my limb having to come off I’d have to agree with you, don’t let one dopey moment end up ruining your lives, no disrespect but check the manufacturers terms of liability, ithink you’ll find if your not wearing safety gloves or boots and glasses then if the machine malfunctions and starts chopping you up like meat pate I believe I’m right in saying you’ll be crap out of luck matey.

    The landscape there looks like Red River valley country. It's quite a bit more open further west. Located about an hour NW of Jamestown. Your garden is short on nitrogen and would probably benefit with a side dressed fertilizer application.
