We finally got a handle on the gopher problem here using TomCat bait chunks. Made bait stations using boards with a couple of spikes. Just did sauerkraut on Monday about 15 gallons worth. We tried the raised bed thing...a lot of work to to keep watered during dry weather and also problems with freeze out during typical winter temps. Your garden is really doing well for as late as it was put in. We've trimmed the runners and blossoms off the squash so the plants will concentrate on finishing the fruit that is on it. Any new fruit added to the vines now probably won't amount to much.
@@greatnorthernn-3154 thank you for all the great advice, it didn’t occur to me that the plants might not survive in raised beds here. I guess I’ll have to try to get the gophers under control first, I’ll try the bait because they’re taking over everything here.
