    Hello Thank you for your videos We have a 410d 611 And it cranks but won't start And the last day something kept on running a few seconds even with the key switch off. Could it be a solenoid even now it doesn't do that? I read when cranking but not starting could be the spark plugs (where are they in the motor?) or the fuel system. Thank you soo much for your tips

      It could be a few thing why it wont start and then carries on running when you turn the key off. But one thing I must point out, 410D engines dont have spark plugs. Thats why it as a D after 410 that becuase it's a diesel engine, and to ask where the spart plugs are is a bit of a concern. I think you need get yourself an owner manual and read up on fault finding which will be in the hand book. Cheers Jeff

      Well! I decided to change my low pressure return pipes because they had been on for a very long while, and instead of waiting for them to deteriorate even more and start to leak / fail on my engine, I decided to change them. Why people do not replace these very simple to change pipe is beyond me, as when they do fail and start to leak, it will start to affect your vehicles performance plus all the diesel that’s spilling out of the pipes will make a mess over your engine / and bay. So that’s, why it’s important to renew them.

      @HymerS660withjeffriva 6 месяцев назад

      I wasn't so much a better performance after I fitted the new tank / sender unit, plus a new inline filter (s). But now all those parts have been replaced, and seeing fresh clean diesel fuel passing through the inline filter it does make the engine run and feel a lot smoother. As I'm sure you know, when you drive any type of vehicle, you start to get a feel of how your engine is operating / running / performing on a daily basis and my engine is running excellent / smooth now from changing these parts. Also I still need to change out all my fuel hose (s) as old rubber hose's do start to deteriorate inside & out (cracks) over time 30 years, so all those little rubber particle will eventually start to block up your inline filters - thuse effecting your engines performance. Cheers Jeff

    Is there a fuel pump inside the sender on these? Are the two thick wires on top of the sender to power such a pump, or are they for the fuel tank gauge in the dash only? I’m an electrical automation engineer and I think those wires look too thick to just be signal wires for the fuel gauge, but there could be a reason for that?

    • @HymerS660withjeffriva

      No the sender unit, is just the filter that comes from the tank, and the two wires are for the sender / sliding float inside the alloy tube to send info to your tank gauges on your dashboard. Most people also (me included) have an added inline filter as well either before the fuel pump or just before the lift pump which is were I have mine. See other video on the channel.

      Well as you seen in the video on the back wheel there is only one bleed nipple each side and the diff lock, thats why I did the diff lock after those side wheel ones in sequence. But I did say at the begining of the video, work from the furthest one first and gradually work your way to the front left wheel. Two outer nipples then the inside one. Yes they share the same fluid - Hope this helps.

    Hello sir I would like to know where to buy spare parts for my Mercedes OM602 engine car model 410D 93 Link to the link for spare parts. Your videos are very helpful, thanks for sharing Thank you

      First always try to get your parts from your local Mercedes Commercial Dealership, Second I buy many parts from Autodoc, which is a very good parts website. Simple put in your chassie number, then choose your make/model & engine. www.autodoc.co.uk/?tb_prm=20124259623&brnd=1&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIxKSs2pLbgwMVuYxLBR1AXg8cEAAYASAAEgLIHPD_BwE

    Thanks for another helpful video Jeff. You’re spot on when you say these jobs are easier, once someone has shown you how to do them. Your clear camera work and no nonsense voiceover give me good confidence to work on my vehicle. Happy New Year mate, and keep up the good work.

      One on the main reasons I do these videos Ronnie is because I constantly see people on facebook groups who own these vehicles and they have absolutley no idea how to do the most basic maintenance on anything. Hopfully these video (s) of mine will give them confidence to attemp having a go at some of them. Happy new year fella.

    Hi. Do you need to take the half shaft out to change the back brake shoes?

    • @HymerS660withjeffriva
      @HymerS660withjeffriva 7 месяцев назад

      Yes you do have to take the halfshaft out to remove the hub, but it's not hard job to do, taking it out. The only problam you might have is if some of the nuts/studs are hard to get out. Other than that its straightforward.
