G'day, my name is Roz,
Growing up with my family, who were always fishing, camping, prospecting, and travelling. I grew up with a thirst to learn and a freedom to roam. From fishing for Barramundi in the Gulf of Carpentaria, to searching for gold in the Goldfields of Australia, for the past 12 years, I have travelled Australia far and wide, and I wish to showcase my experience, knowledge and to share my fun-loving spirit.

Sweet Success
Packing away the detectors and fishing rods, I hit the road. While Touring around Far North Queensland, Australia, I noticed the Sugar Harvest had begun. I would like to give you a glimpse into the operations of the sugar industry, as well as the stunning scenery around Tropical North Queensland, Australia. I hope you enjoy it.

If travelling through the top end of Australia, you can always catch a feed of Red claw or the Cherabin prawns using Opera house pots and dog food as bait. Barramundi also feeds on the live Cherabin using a float and throwing the line amongst the stags. Please enjoy a short video on how to catch and cook these freshwater delights so you can enjoy bringing the river to the plate. @Free2Roam24 #f...

Traveling and Fishing the Gulf Of Carpentaria
Просмотров 1,3 тыс.3 месяца назад
As a child, my family would travel across the state to the Gulf of Carpentaria to go camping and fishing for the spectacular Barramundi. Over the years I have returned to spend a few months doing what I love, fishing in the Norman River. For the past 6 years my wonderful friend Duck has been my team mate in the boat. This year Duck, who I call the Deckie flew across the state to join me on this...
Nice video Roz. Come along way from those hand cane cutter days. Know that area lived in Innisfail for about 12 years. Thanks for some memories.

Great vid Roz. The history so interesting. Yes there’s often a lot of junk found detecting some interesting some not so but when it’s gold one finds it makes it even better. Such great country up there. Just a side note think I know a mate of yours. Just very coincidental. Anyways take care and I look forward to your next adventure.
Hey, thanks again, Lozz. I love to hear from you. Are you back down south? And who is my mate that you know? First name only, please.
Yes I’m back home in Perth. Had a great couple of months up there. I wasn’t sure whether to post name but first name is Annette.
Ok, where is she from? I know a couple of Annette's. Is she from out there or elsewhere?
Yes Einasleigh
Yep, no worries 👍 😉
Very interesting, love how you incorporate history and detecting , keep on having fun and stay safe, cheers 👍👍👍

Nice gold. Good demonstration on what to do.😅
Thanks, mate, I appreciate your feedback and support. 👍😀
Nice gold, they look heavier than that, bigger than the gold I'm getting here in Victoria though, cheers.
Hi Stormyday, Some of the gold in Georgetown is leaf gold. They are large, thin pieces but don't weigh much, not like solid nugget.
Thanks Roz great to see the country up there most enjoyable 😊
Thanks, Geoff, I am pleased you enjoyed the video. 😀
Great viewing & very interesting, keep it up & thanks, living on the land is so differant.
Thanks, Mark, I am so pleased you enjoyed watching the video. Yes, life in rural areas can be challenging but also so beautiful. I really appreciate your feedback and support. Cheers, mate. 😀

You're welcome, mate 👍 😀 I am glad you enjoyed watching, and thanks for your support.
I've wanted to go to the West for a few years now, haven't got there yet but that place up there looks rugged but potentially a great spot to check out one day.
@Stormyday-zg7iz yes, it can be a little rugged in places, but the roads are well marked, and you receive a map of the station when you arrive. It is suited for 4x4
lovely ep and countryside guys.
Thanks Craig, they call it God's country up here, mate. You can see why. Thanks again.
@@Free2Roam24 No worries, I bet, I love Cape York I camp 75ks north west of Weipa, Would love to find some spots in the gulf to camp at but all I ve seen are $25 to $50 a night,
@craigtomkinson2837 Craig, my recommendation is Leichhardt Lagoon Camping Grounds, 20 km east of Normanton. $ 10 per night per person, hot showers, and flushing toilets. Close to the Norman River for Barramundi, redclaws, and cherabin fishing.

Great video for newbie me. Very informative Roz ,thank you Gary
You're very welcome, Gary. I am glad you were able to pick up some tips, buddy 😀 and thank you for your support. Feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions. Good luck hunting gold ✨️ 👍
Great video. Yes it certainly is beautiful country up here. What coil is that you’re using and do you like it a lot ? Good size pieces of gold thank you for sharing. Enjoy 😊👍🏻
Thanks, Lozz, I am using a 9-inch Coiltek Goldhawk coil and have found a lot of gold with it. Easy to manoeuvre on banks, rocks, ect, but punches a good depth as well for a small coil.
It is a harsh country, but it's still a nice temperature atm.
Yes, it is still very pleasant 😊
You must be due to hit the Norman again soon, just love watching you catch barramundi. My mum, myself and my siblings where born at Normanton.
No mate, I am done Barramundi fishing for the year. Heading south soon for summer.
Good to see the Gold country up there and here you finding some 😊
@geoffmcewan8766 Thanks, Geoff, the country is a bit different from around your area, mate. A fair few obstacles to get around. I'm looking forward to catching up soon. 😃

Thanks Lozz, yes pretty pleased with the depth of these. Love my Goldhawk coil. Happy hunting!
Enjoy watching your videos, keep em coming 👍👍🍻🎣
Thanks for the feedback, and I'm so glad you enjoy them. I really appreciate your support. 😀
Very nice! I use the 9x14 coil tec and have had good luck with it. What do you like about the 9" round and how deep has it went?
Hi Chris, I have found a lot of gold with the 9-inch Goldhawk, I find it good for working banks and gullies as it is easy to manuvor. On larger pieces, i have dug some deep holes. The smallest piece was a small ball the size of a pin head.
Thanks Skipper. We had a great day and will talk about all the tangles for years to come
We sure will, James. It is amazing how we landed such big fish with all the tangles. What a team ! Fantastic day, mate. 🎣🐟❤️
Yummmm😊
Yes, it was very yummy, Gayle.
More fun to watch than the Olympics 😂🤣👍
It sure was, and great to see young and older people having fun 😁
Love this place. Gods country the locals say. Can’t wait to be back up there on the gold.

Well done ladies -from some one in Tassie which river ?
Hi mate, We were fishing in the Norman River, Normanton, Gulf of Carpentaria. Thanks for your support 😁
Just loved your beer and barramundi video, and I'll drink to that 🍻
Thanks, mate. It turned out that a boat upstream had inundated with the high tide and all his fishing gear as well as his esky had washed into the river. That is why the beer was floating down the river. 😀
Thanks Roz. Was a great day.
Yes, mate, it was a fantastic day. Thanks for coming along for the journey with me. Memories last a lifetime, and it's always fun fishing with you. 🍻😂
Lovely ep and Fish, You can keep the beer though I do no how people drink something that Smells like cats piss and tastes the same Haha
