    Had cataract surgery here 2 years ago at age 50. Wanted to be free of glasses. Got talked into premium IOLs, costing $8k. These implants suck. My vision is worse now than before procedure when I was wearing glasses/contacts. Vision continues to get worse. I am now dependent on 3 different pairs of glasses for reading and distance, which aren’t much help. Woolfson has not really offered a solution, other than more lasers, which after the way they’ve treated me and butchered my vision, I’m not letting them come near my eyes again. Overall awful experience with Woolfson. I regret ever letting them sucker me into an unnecessary procedure. I’m now seeing other doctors in hope to correct the damage caused to my vision by these procedures.

    Comments from 2 unfit drs about sports ...is not that really valid only minimal advice that is actually Common Sense....no need for" dr.advice" when they make often huge mistakes in their profession and asking to sign a paper before surgery to disculp them if anything goes wrong so we "clean their hands" on us. 😢

I see my eye surgeon in six weeks, although my swelling has went down really really fast. My eyelid is still the same before prior to my surgery.😢

Results in the hands of General Plastic Surgeons is not always as good as in the hands of Oculoplastic Surgeons. Sorry, but it's true.

    I got Lasik in June 2023 (50 yrs) to correct my vision after having my vision corrected for cataracts a year before - lens replacement IOL July 2022 (diagnosed at 48yrs). After cataract surgery my vision was terrible, not crisp/clear at any distance, blurry, full of obstructing floaters, and overall not great. I saw better before the surgery wearing glasses or contacts. Was told Lasik would fix this, but I see no noticeable difference. My vision still sucks. My advise is to do a lot of research...and I mean a lot. Don't be lured in by promises that the experience will "change your life" and don't expect a "wow" moment after surgery. If you choose to have it done and it works for you, wonderful; but be prepared to be disappointed in case it doesn't.

  • @Chrischandon

    Got Lasik in 2013, was a perfect canditate. Was told this by 2 offices, Lasik Md and Eaglevue in Montreal, Canada. Had 20/15 vision, no complications and 3 years after my vision keeps going down every 6 months by about .25. Now stabalized for 2-3 years about at 2.00 and 1.75 which is about what I had originally. My brothers is still perfect 15 years after and my sister is wearing glasses again about 6-7 years after lasik.. My dad also perfect after 20 years. It sucks.. Loved not having to wear glasses..

    • @curmudgeon632
      @curmudgeon632 9 месяцев назад

      Agree, it totally sucks. I had cataract surgery done at Woolfson in 2022 and my vision sucked afterwards. I saw better before the procedure while wearing glasses or contacts. Post surgery, my vision is not clear/crisp at any distance the halos and starbursts from lights at night is so bad that I can no longer safely drive at night. It took a year of complaining to get Woolfson to agree to perform a Lasik procedure to "correct" my already "corrected" eyesight. Nothing has changed. There is no consistency in my vision, it just sucks all the time. I now have to wear 3 different glasses (prescription distance, readers 1.25 & 3.0) after being told I could "throw my glasses away after surgery." There was no "wow" moment for me. My eyes always feel strained, they burn every night, and I always feel like I'm wearing irritating contacts that I just want to take out...but I can't because this is just my crappy vision now. It has been a frustrating year that has negatively impacted the enjoyment of my life. I feel like I've had some horrible accident or illness that has left me with impaired vision. I regret having the surgeries and I wish I didn't do it. I'm going to other doctors to hopefully fix this disaster. So many promises not fulfilled...I want my money back.

    I wish I could come to you, but I live in Germany. I really need help! My problem is, is had mild ptosis in my right upper lid from birth, but 2 weeks ago I had surgery done to my neck (benign tumour removal) and they damaged the sympathetic nerve which resulted in Horner´s syndrome, and it affects the same eye. So now I have got "double ptosis" :(. Could you please tell me if it is the same muscle that is now double affected by two ailments (congenital AND post surgery neurologic problem) or if it is two different muscles that are affected (one congenital and the other one from surgery)? My pupil is only just free, depending on my state of tiredness. I am able to pull up the eyelid just enough to see properly without using the eye brow, but it is exhausting to the lid muscle when I try to open it really wide. Do you think I need the frontalis sling or might the usual procedure possibly be enough to fix this?

      My vision has deteriorated these past few years badly to the point where I now always need glasses or I'm missing out.in so much crisp clean detail.... Ugh it sucks having any slight blurriness when you used.ti have 20/20 until bout ten years ago.... Idk why I feel safer with LASIK surgery but it's prolly just my ignorance or lack of research but I feel that'd be more.of a long term fix/solution... But to be honest weather.i.could even afford/budget for it being a possibility, I'm more.or less afraid of losing my vision or it being any worse after surgery then it is because.jd honestly rather just accept using glasses.thrn take a risk of becoming totally blind an or even more.vision impaired then I am/might be in the future...m ugh if just hate the fact of having to experience adjusting to blindness after 36years.of.life finding my way around with fairly decent vision compared to complete blindness.....!!! So yeah idk the risk is sketchy but more.or less.sounding like it's had.more.success then failures but idk the statistics... But honestly just imagine trying to correct.your semi shitty vision an it just gets worse or leads to like ridiculously blurry/blind vision? Ugh lol anyone know the success rate stats on these surgerys??? I know I could search it but just asking others opinions instead.cuz in being lazy haha 😂

    Dr Hays did my eye surgery a couple years ago and I have nothing but good things to say. He did explain about the vision. I was given a chance to decide if I wanted to keep one eye for reading and one for distance or both distance. I chose distance. I have a contact lens for reading in one eye. Before surgery I wore a distance lens and a reading lens.
