Thank you for these videos. Ive been fishing since I was a little kid, I’m 50 now and my 14 year old daughter is getting into fishing. I basically taught myself the little I know about fishing so these videos have helped me tremendously tying my knots, especially tying on leaders. The high resolution videos, Hi-Vis opposing colored line, and your narrative make learning these knots much easier!

@@jcatcam1030 It’s definitely tougher with light line. For leader <= 12 lb, I use and recommend the Alberto knot. It's very strong for fluoro! It's also an easy transition into the double-lined knots for most, because of its similarity to the clinch knot. For this reason I stay with the uni knot and variations of the uni knot like twice through the eyelet. I've never used an actual tenkara rod, but i fished the Mora River and other Pecos wilderness streams using my ultralight flyrod as a tenkara. Its tons of fun to use ultra light gear, and microscopic flies to catch mountain trout for dinner! That sure is an interesting fishing hole between buildings with a fountain! Oh, and "got one" is just your line. Own it. I dont know who Rizzuto is but the finishing knot you used is traditionally known as a "whipping knot" which is used to wrap the ends of ropes to keep them from unravelling. We also use it to finish the wraps when serving a bowstring. Its been used for centuries.

It's just a method for finishing a knot that was accredited to Jim Rizzuto - but like many other knots & techniques, has been around for centuries and used for many other applications. I see this a lot in the knot world, and it would be nice if we could just standardize things and stop trying to get things named after ourselves, but unfortunately, there are a LOT of egos in the fishing world.

@@gumbislice1605 it’s a San Diego jam knot, but with the line doubled. I think you’re referring to the clinch knot, and there is a doubled line version of that as well - the double clinch knot. There is also an IMPROVED double clinch knot. I have a tutorial for both of those as well!🤙

Great video like always! Those are some sweet customizations, I would love to try them here in my cold water Washington creeks. Tight lines!

Thank you Cory! In my experience, if the creek has water in it, and the water has fish in it, these will catch a ton of fish :) Thanks for watching!

That was a good multi species fishing stretch, UL fishing is so rewarding, exploring a new creek armed with a good set up is just unbeatable, that creek was loaded.

@@armandorjusinoI’m going back soon with a mini Tenkara rod and some flies - I’m expecting to break my record for most fish in a day very easily. I’m normally a quality over quantity guy, but it should be a great time. Thanks for watching!
