I just love how you are pissed that GvK & GxK:TNE are extremely goofy & laughable and basically throwing all the consistent tone of the previous movies, the style of the previous movies & offering low-quality special effects, yet you seem to be perfectly fine when G:KOTM does the exact same crap to G14.
@@davidostapenko2578 What? What are you talking about? KoTM’s word building was not at all a massive shift in world building away from 2014. It might focus more on mythic science fantasy than 2014 but to me it still feels like a logical follow through to what 2014 built up, At least more than the Wingard movies are to the previous movies.

It literally retconned a few things from 2014's "GODZILLA". In 2014's "GODZILLA" it's said by the human characters that Godzilla was dormant for millions of years while in 2019's "GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS" it's said that he (And other titans throughout the world) had a civilization of his own following humans that worshiped him, meaning that he had to wake up every few thousands of years to come to the surface and fight other creatures. I would also like to mention that it makes absolutely zero sense that in 1999 there were discovered only a skeleton of Godzilla's species & two MUTOs, yet between 2014 to 2019 they've SOMEHOW managed to discover *over 17 titans* throughout the entire world, and given that these are all original titans that were created by Legendary then the possibility for earth kaijus from Toho in the MonsterVerse has been reduced to absolute zero. Also, during & since the 2019 movie, the human characters have started to call these creatures "titans".... for no reason? Especially given the fact that they've never called these creatures "titans" in either the 2014 movie or the 2017 movie, not even for once? Look, the beauty of 2014's "GODZILLA" is that the movie feels more "prehistoric" rather than mythical, so if the director wanted 2019's "GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS" to be "mythical" then he should've at the very least give an origin story to all of these over 17 original titans that's completely different than what Godzilla, the MUTOs, Kong, the Skullcrawlers, Rodan, Mothra & Ghidorah all had. And no, my problems with this extremely overrated movie aren't stopping right there.

His implication that Toho doesn't care about its copyrights is baffling, as Toho, and asian companies in general, are violently protective of their IPs, and people have lost their income from youtube because they pushed the copyright too far. Look no further than Nintendo sending cease and desists to people putting on tournaments for 20 year old games, or suing the Palworld developers for infringements that aren't even the obviously plagiarized character designs

I dont see why the Monsterverse would need a storyline to be built up to. Its not like Marvel where there are several big events they can pull from that fans of the source material will like, and there doesn't need to be any big event movie to be built up to. They're kaiju, every time we see them its gonna be a big event.
Yeah I totally agree. Tho we do need some sort of incentive to keep audience’s interested and we absolutely need better organization and communication between creatives.
@DaikaijinGoji I agree that a dialog between creatives is needed for a more cohesive story, however I don't belive that can *only* be achieved through a MCU type creative head. It could be as simple as having creatives who are working at the same time share notes, or having creatives watch the other stuff to understand
2014 didn't have a goal to work towards; it was a stand alone story. When it was retroactively made the start of the MV in 2015, the goal was to build towards Godzilla and Kong's rematch. Now that GVK is done, the goal of the MV isn't clear, but they seem to be expanding as a franchise.
The franchise that ignores its previous entries and change the continuity drasticly rather then improve on it is bond to fail. Stars wars sequel trilogy failed so much the general audience lost respect for the brand that starwars was Craig's era james bond failed so much that the last entry no time to die is hated by many people 343's halo trilogy failed so much halo is now a multiplatform game just to survive. Thank god monsterverse didn't abandoned that much but now they feel directionless following GodzillaXKong
Well the problem i have with monsterverse is that they aren''t having a narrative goal like kevin fiege had with phase 1 of MCU. Well since they are taking inspiration from showa era's kaiju vs kaiju formula then they should go for invasion of astro monster angle filled aliens disgusing as humans living in the society waiting for hostile takeover. In that way the kaiju's in the monsterverse would feel important to defend their homeland

I mean the text says it all. It’s pro imperialist Japan with how things are framed and who the bad guys are (I’ll be at accidental but still) the characters are bland. Special effects took a noticeable nose dive after Biollante, and the time travel doesn’t make a lick of sense.

Spacegodzilla is a concept that works best as a tv show character or a showa era character rather than the one we get here. His origins aren't flushed out well. If it was a showa era movie then it would work perfectly like an alien invasion story. But being in heisei where characterisation is more important than gimmicks, it doesn't feel well here.
If we're talking all ultraman, then why not akaninger from sentai nininnger cause he turned giant and has the ultra man like going foward morph sequence (joke)

For me.... Godzilla vs Megalon 6.3/10 Godzilla vs Mecha Godzilla 8.3/10 Godzilla: King of the Monsters/Gojira 9.8/10 The rest of the them I range from 6.8/10 to 7.9/10 Godzilla's Revenge/All Monsters Attack 1.9/10 for bring the weakest abd the worse movie ever
