Crazy enough this was actually in late 1940s not 50s. I think it was his casting for the original Rebel With a Cause... he didn't get the part, but the movie didn't start to be filmed until the 50s when James Dean came on it.

5:56 “Were you taking drugs at all…?” What a stupid, cruel, uneducated question! Rusty had, already in this interview, explained that Rocky’s condition is genetic, autosomal recessive genetics. This means that both parents carry the faulty genetic code, in a recessive, as opposed to dominant, manner. All the drugs in the world cannot cause autosomal recessive genes, and taking no “drugs” also will not change an autosomal recessive genetic sequence.

Oh my! Florence “Rusty” was adorable. She was a kind, loving, highly intelligent, STRONG, caring, giving, pretty lady. She lost both Rocky and her older son, Joshua, both far-too young. Rusty lived to be only seventy, which is too young. Her faith was as unwavering. I loved her then; I love her still. ❤

What the hell kind of question is that?!?!?!?!?! "Did you feel like you were being punished?" WT actual F!! Yes, the host did ask Rusty if she used drugs bc of the rarity BUT....if they frikin listened, she said in the frikin beginning that it was a recessive genetic disorder!!! My opinion, they had her judged before they met her and they convinced themselves that because of her lifestyle, the assumed she did drugs DURING pregnancy! They see the leather cut and Cher depicting a wonderful, strong woman who had real-life issues. They heard nothing she had to say right away!
