hmm whats funny is you can manually force the car to charge by pumping in dc voltage through the back of an evse cord. not sure how to get the contactors to click first, but seems like it would undo some of the balance issue people have Doctorbass Electric Life video shows this

Have a 2020 Tesla model S long range plus and get the key not found in vehicle warning all the time, car has locked me out while the keys were inside and often times the doorhandles don’t present themselves when walking up with the key fob. Does this sound like a BCM issue? Thanks so much!

Ok so I ran across your video while researching a customers car having the exact same issues! He had ran out of battery power while driving and it never switched over to gas. I reset the codes in the computer and was able to get the car to start. I immediately switched the car to "Mountain" mode which will cause the vehicle to run entirely on gas until the battery is charged to half capacity. I was able to drive the vehicle back to my shop and finish charging it fully over the weekend. When I went to pull the car in this morning I noticed my codes had reappeared for the charging system. I popped the hood and grabbed my scanner to retrieve the codes and noticed the engine started straight off and battery power was not available. This confused me as I couldn't figure out a way to do this Friday on the side of the road! Then it dawned on me the possibility that high voltage might be unavailable with the hood open to prevent someone getting fried! I shut the hood and turned on the ignition and it went straight to battery power. While in battery power I pulled the hood release and the car started immediately!! So while it's not the safest idea to ride around with the hood popped and relying on the safety latch it may be a good way to get your vehicle to a safer location or in the shop! Can someone else try this for me and verify it works on other Volts?!?!?

Guaranteed they put the bad charger back into circulation and someone else is going to waste 25 hours..

Can you put a newer model BCM on the old Tesla so it would have card key or phone to drive feature?

Not working while the door is open is because it hasn't 'calibrated' yet. It doesn't know how high is too high and if you put it all the way up and close the door it will shatter the window. Close the door, run it up and down twice then it should be good to go.

Thanks of for the video. It would be nice to have details on removing that last small wire. Have the same issue. Also, the the details of programming. If you get a module with a key, will it work with all the car stuff (remote lock, etc), or just to turn the car on and off. Other great information would be diagnostic procedure to make sure the BCM is the issue.

I have a 2023 MSP coming in tomorrow and am looking to purchase 21-inch wheels for it. Kinda concerned about the tire wear. May I ask the use case for going with the N2itive adjustable arm vs just using the available shims that are out there? Outside of the adjustability what would be the benefit?

2012volt. Mine keeps throwing codes when it fails to switch from EV at a stop sign to ICE after take off. Happens much more often during cold weather. Reset the codes a few times using a similar method. Not a mechanic, but it feels like maybe the battery is not being heated appropriately. Even with 1/3 charge wont switch to EV unless its almost 100 degrees outside and still not for more than a few seconds. Im in the St. Louis area and no one around here seems to know anything about EV’s. She’s got over 200k miles and ICE still works pretty good, not looking to put alot more money in. Any suggestions?

I have degree in Software Engineering (aka Programming). I am The Professor of Operating Systems (OS), software and such. To install ANY software, you must NEVER mess with your OS, or anti-virus, or such. Any "software" that requires you to do that is made by Communists spies who wants to steal your data. (PS: do not reply. I need no answer from mechanics). Requiring new OS is like saying: if you are going to buy a car, you need to remove all concrete in your driveway / garage and install new concrete / pavement so that you can drive car in. Requiring to disable firewall (or anti-virus) is like saying: we are going to pay you by check a lot of money: give us your Debit card and PIN so we can pay you.

For anyone who wants to know - the paddle gear is available from Tesla and others for a few bucks. Save more than $90 and make it a lot easier. Also, no reason to loosen the window regulator. just slide the handle behind it to the front of the car, and then out towards the rear in front of the regulator. But helpful to remind me - ours is doing the open all the time thing.

What if you can’t supercharge because of chg f_012 fc contactors drive circuit short to ground. Seems like the drive circuit is located in the gen 1 which switches the hvjb fc contactors closed. No issues otherwise. No codes and drives perfect. I might open it up and see what could be shorted. Just wondering if you have an idea because no one has fixed this and I’ve tried many on board chargers from working supercharging cars. It has to be a code or a small short in the onboard chargers themselves.
