Damn that’s not self leveling ??
Perfect example of a problem creation by ignorance. You only need an explanation tank if you have a closed low flow system in your home. Unless gov global warming regulations. It just makes you spend more money and deal with more aggravation for less water when you turn on the tap.
Where does the 4%expansion go then?
@goffyglos5675 it doesn't go anywhere. Your water heater is built to handle a water temperature well above 220°f, and if something goes really wrong, it also has a pressure release value that will open. Before 2019, the only place an expansion tank was needed was on a well. It's now used on water heaters to fix a problem created by government policy that limits the amount of water you can use in your home.
@@jamesmcd71 Under 10L the expansion can go work with the mains pressure if it's over 10L you MUST have an expansion vessel. Also they should installed with a mounting bracket AND UPRIGHT. The balloons split inside over time, they become very heavy or even worse take off like a rocket
They didn’t put one in my new home. Luckily I had a plumber out and he mentioned it before the one year warranty was up. Now I’m really glad they got one put in.
I live in Belgium and i can't imagine that a plumber/ heating didn't install a expansion vase (and well mounted and secured)
Thats got me questioning where mine might be
@@Daslink314 Check your water heater room, if it's not in there, it's probably where your main water pipe enters your home (crawlspace, basement, or garage)
@nolanmesler there's a 6 foot ceiling panel in the basement off the main that's the only spot I can't see all the rest of the lines are exposed so I guess it's gotta be in there I guess
You'd be surprised the amount of homes with PVC pipe that don't have an expansion tank. Mine doesn't have one and think I need to put one in.
@@ClubhouseGardens There is a PVC coming off like a drain spout from the top of the tank I assumed it was some sort of overflow nonsense never seen anything come from it
@@nolanmeslerwhen one has a well that uses a bladder pressure tank ....
Meanwhile, in slightly more sane countries, the water shutoff is inside the house so bad people can't just F with you by turning the water off. Being inside the house also means they can't freeze, and being closer to the power lines they can easiliy report their measurements. Welcome to the 1800's USA!
In Australia we call those lizard holes, plenty of skinks in them
You didint make that key it sold in hardware store across America

@@emrythompson If it's covered it sometime doesnt power on, you'll have to clear the debris and then it will activate
most water meters here are metal and not plastic lids. If you have a plastic lid in your lawn here its your irrigation lines
True, I see metal lids too! plastic ones are uncommon here but it just so happened to be plastic when I decided to record.

Not in Kentucky it's all digital and can't be turned off by the homeowner or me the plumber
😯 Have you ever encountered a house without a main shutoff valve?
That's dangerous though?
@@JKDJackextremely. pipe bursts in the house and you cant shut it off yourself? lets just say you gonn need some good home insurance.
I’m in ky I’ve been able to turn off at every home I’ve ever worked on
That's wild. So who's liability is it when there's water damage because nobody else could shut it off? First leak or call for service and the utility provider has to be Johnny on the spot, absolutely baffling...
This is great. I take for granted that I know all this stuff but the average homeowner does not.
Every plumber was loving poly back in the day 😂
now its a class action law suit 😂
Can you explain systems on wells
wells are coming soon🫡
Yeah drink bottled water with plastic in it instead
Technically the water on earth has been the same ever since. Even further the water molecules evaporates and when it rains, they are technically go from h2o gas to liquid and fall back down again. Technically we’re drinking dinosaur piss
Engineer here this is flat out wrong information. Wastewater and sewage is treated to much less stringent standards than drinking water that is supplied to your house. The wastewater is treated and then released to a nearby water body like a river or the ocean. It is absolutely not suitable for drinking. Now, the water that is pumped to your house comes from a separate facility called a water treatment plant. This plant takes the water from reservoirs, rivers, lakes, etc. and filters and treats it to a much more stringent standard so that it is safe to drink. It’s also important to recognize that wastewater after being treated is safe to pump into nearby bodies of water but it is done so downstream of where the water that goes to the water treatment plant is taken. This means that the treated wastewater is able to disperse and dilute before there is any chance that it could be captured and sent to be treated for drinking water.
@@chrisb7161 Thanks for the comment! I appreciate it and I'll have to do more research before I post next time!
This is why I don't drink water
It's actually called reclaimed water and goes to water, parks, hoa communities. It's why it says not to drink it. Ever seen purple piping at the park or in your neighborhood. That's reclaim water.
@@jimmymaestas6828 😯 Thanks for the comment, I thought it was sent back into our water supply
Unless there is a heavy rain and then its diverted to to closest water source
BOOO!...Boo!..🫵🏿💩✌🏿💨🚽
Atleast it's being cleaned and weren't dying or getting diseases.
This is not true. After the sewer water gets filtered and disinfected it is used strictly for irrigation like in parks and stuff it’s called reclaimed water that’s why you see signs at parks especially if they have a pond that warns not to drink the sprinkler water. Your drinking water comes from well water that is pumped from aquifers deep in the ground. It has its own process of purifying that has nothing to do with sewage I worked at a water treatment plant he got the process for reclaimed water summed up but it is not used for potable water. This is a lie. And for all you water bottle people where do you think they get there water from? They have less regulations than most water. Departments.
@@stevenalvarez487 😯 oh! I appreciate the comment. I'll have to do more research before posting next time.
Yeah that's why we don't drink tap water or cook with it
Nah I don’t care that water spigot and hose water hits different
It's not sent straight back into your houses, it is dumped into the closest river at certain intervals in order not to cause harm to the environment, where it has time to disperse
No, it definitely goes back to your houses
@randalflowers4872 I live fairly close to both a water filtration plant and a waste water processing plant that are both on our local river....water filtration for homes us done upriver and sent out to our area....waste water plant is down river from our city where it collects and processes and get put back into the river. I've done tours of both these places multiple times, I know what I'm talking about
@@randalflowers4872 no it doesn’t. Wastewater treatment is done totally separate from (drinking) water treatment. Water treatment plants take water from reservoirs, lakes, rivers, etc. and treat it so that it’s clean drinking water. Wastewater and sewage is treated to a less stringent standard and then sent back into the river or ocean but downstream of where the drinking water (prior to its own treatment) is taken.
@@SlickWyteG59 not all areas have reservoirs to get water from, im 100% certain that some of these waste water plants send water straight back to the community for drinking
@@randalflowers4872 you're 100% wrong, if it is not sent back into a body of water it is used for irrigation purposes
