Born in Pakistan, built in England, roots in Turkiye. Taking baby-steps to see the world's best and baddest cities before I meet my maker.
A brother from another mother once said to me.........................
"Solvitur Ambulando"
Meaning "it is solved by walking / walking helps us find the solution". After the pandemic I needed to change my outlook and where my life was going. Like many I felt a change was necessary.

Welcome to my channel. I'm Roaming Ree.
I'm back in the UK for the summer. I thought I'd visit some of my old stomping grounds.
Next stop the London Borough of Newham. In particular Manor Park or Manor Pakistan as I fondly called it.
As a Londoner can't believe how much the area has changed and sadly not for the better.

Barking Town Centre and street market. I must be getting old. I thought it was 20 years, but it was closer to 40 years. Whatta mistake to make. Good god what the hell has happened to Barking
@kevin39632 Honestly mate, I couldn't believe it myself.
I'm a Poplar boy and still live on the East India Dock Rd. Back in the eighties I used to venture to East Ham regularly. I used to drop into The Burnel Arms to wind the Teddy Boys up and then spend the evening in the Rusking Arms with the Rockers who's company I loved. Great days!
@@TommyTimebomb100 Love it, proppa cockney. How nice is it around the docks now. Couldn't agree with u more. Really great days. Thanks for the comment
Shi7 hole
Manor park is a shithole never been nice I lived on 4th avenue and Romford road it's been invaded no English there for over 30 years the Asians have invaded the area.
Gosh, I lived there about 30 years ago. I went to the Uni down there.
Hi Roaming Ree, you need to help me out here. I grew up not far from there. (Barkingside) I used to go to West Ham and get my hair cut at Carlo's in Green Street. Brought my Northerner 10 hole Dr Martins at the Army and Navy. When I was at school everyone mixed with each other. Black, Irish, Asian , Jewish and English we were all Cockney's. ( 70's/80's) But now the Area has been nothing more than "ethnically cleansed" with people wholly indifferent to being in the UK. This is so different to my Asian school friends and associates. That said most of the young people would be the children of my Asian friends. Where did this indifference come from as I am sure it was not the parents being of our generation?
@FHIPrincePeter Hello brother, you’re spot on. Growing up most of us just got along. Colour wasn't a major issue, there was always racial issues but mates always stuck together. Unlike now where it's all about colour and ethnicity. When I try to explain this I get called a racist, coconut and Reform supporter. Like u I'm puzzled as how simple ppl have become. Tolerance is a thing of the past.
@@Roamingree Yes it's a concern. The younger generation seems more detached from Britain than their parents. Your are right we seem to be more segregated now than back in the day.
All English live in Essex which is more English and everything there and cleaner area .
@@FHIPrincePeterRacism is growing and segregation is all over the UK people are not integrated anymore .
@FHIPrincePeter We use to go out, meet ppl and learnt to integrate but social media has alot to answer too. There will be many more loners soon.
Thanks for the upload, i too grew up in Manor Park, and was there from 1966 to 1996. All my family were from the area so i know it well. The Army & Navy had stores on both corners at one time, surplus/clothing on the Stratford side, and camping equipment on the Ilford side. The mosque at the top of Kensington Ave was a bombed out cinema and it stood like that until the early 1990s. When i was a kid, some shops along by Byron Avenue were old school greengrocers, a small Co-Op, a Trustee Savings Bank, a chippy and Chans chinese take-away. Further down past the Ruskin Arms, was a little sub post office and Hayters ironmongers store, so full it was stacked to the ceilings, he had tall ladders to pick things out that you wanted to buy..... As you say, they are building like crazy to put the non stop imports of economic migrants into homes but without any extra infrastructure to deal with the influx.... The supermarkets say they sell enough food for population of around 80 million..... i'm sure their numbers are correct unlike our corrupt politicians!.... I hope you do some more from Newham, perhaps Upton Park, or around the old West Ham bus garage (i used to work there in the 1980s) in Greengate Street. Even Upton Park garage has closed and is now flats!
@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus many thanks for the comment, wow 1966. I remember most of the places u stated. Even with the issues it was a safer place back then. I remember playing out in the streets and coming home late. We knew alot of ppl coz they settled in the area. Homes is the way forward not flats, I believe. But times change. I gonna go to ilford next ,then Boleyn and Green St.
@@Roamingree I will watch with interest, thanks!
Remember growing up in the 80s and having no go areas cos of NF. Custom House and Canning town were racist hotspots.
@thegenerus1437 yep definitely no go areas for us. I use to hate Canning Town, Custom House and Silvertown. My brothers were in Eastlea School in the 70's, could u imagine what they had to put up with.
I thought you’d mentioned Marks for Toys as you passed it next to BIMS. Got all my swimming certificates from the town hall in the 80s.
@thegenerus1437 lol don't know what I'm chatting half the time. There was a big toy shop near WHSmiths but can't remember the name. Me too, I use to love the swimming baths, also got my certificates but in the 70's and about 10 of us use to go swimming every Sunday. Good times
The pub on the Romford Road was called Earl of Essex, I think. Guess what it’s gonna be, FLATS
@rizmahd You're right, Earl of Essex. Unfortunately flats and ppl r the only things growing not just in the UK but worldwide
Wow totally different from what I remember. I think the Mosque on the corner of Kensington Ave use to be a theatre, with Kensington Youth Centre across the road.
@rizmahd yes I remember the youth centre, we use to go Saturday mornings. Use to keep us off the streets.
@barryryan5187 it's not religion mate. The demographic of the area changes due to the ppl. If ppl live in crap the area will be crap.
East Ham and Manor Park used to be one of east London's 'desirable' middle class areas before WW2 with an amazing High Street with shops of all kinds and an equally amazing cultural life with its own theatre, numerous cinemas and thriving churches of all denominations. It stayed that way as a pleasant ,clean, relatively crime-free suburb until around the 1970's although the theatre had been demolished in the late 1950's and the cinemas were being converted into bingo halls, etc. by that time. Then the 'enrichment' set in.
Thanks for the comment. Exactly spot on, I'm a late 60's baby, I remember Barking, East Ham and Manor Park and seeing the change especially late 80's and 90's. It was tough at times but way worse now.
Sir Ree, love your content especially walk-by around London, never been. Watching from Scotland. if you can make video of old Asian take-aways or restaurant back in the day and if they still exist or all the best food places in London for hot curries. or since you have moved abroad is the food nice there.....brrrrrr Take care Naz
@naz0508 Thank you for the kind words. I've got afew more areas to cover and will focus on more takeaways. There r too many food places 🤣
Miracles talk is cheap new song out ❤ mixtape Silent tears out soon part1 big up this channel
@alexpalmer496 Thank you my brother
You got it all in London! one is free to buy crap and not so much crap stuff, one has a choice!
@tonivaripati5951 Looool yes, that's why I always say, London for me is home and the best city in the world.
Yes- we should pressurise Hamas to release the hostages & those theyre keeping as s*x slaves, then all this fighting will rest !
Wow! I remember going to East Ham TEC on block realise during my apprenticeship back in 1985 😮
@danseddon4319 College of TEC of awesome. I was there in 1988. Done everything under one roof, unlike different campuses now.
Doesn’t look like the east-end to me anymore. Hopefully the area can improve, such a great area

Looking at the prices the stuff for sale has to be utter tat but have to say you couldnt expect anything else . Worked in Ilford/Barking many years ago and really enjoyed it but have to be honest while we in the North East are seeing the UK deteriorate and we have plenty bad areas ourselves I am still glad to live up here because it looks awful down there.
@jmw-qt2ih you're lucky to have made the move. As much I love London even I'm looking at making the move out of London. It really has become a cesspit.
Imagine the first thing you see coming out of the station is a Coral then a minute down the road there is another amongst all the other betting shops Fun challenge for viewers is how many can you spot
@NeedMoarRage yes sadly too many and in prominent positions on the high street.
I was born on the gascoigne estate in 75. Moved to dagenham in 83, chadwell heath in 91 then Sydney in 97. Visits back to these places make me sad, such fond memories but now it looks terrible and so uninviting
I'm glad u made the move in 97, my regret is I never moved when I had the chance. It breaks my heart to see what London has become.
You say people were nice but you must also remember how really bad racist it was, Paki bashing, NF, C18 etc. At least all that shit is gone.
