Hi everyone, my name is Matt Maldonado. I am a Production Designer, Art Director, and Miniature Model Maker working in the Film and Themed Entertainment Industry. I've spent the last decade plus, working on some amazing projects. Working with companies like Universal Studios Hollywood and the Walt Disney Company. Projects including, Halloween Horror Nights, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and spent some time at the edge of a Galaxy at Disneylands Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Currently, I’m spending my days in the Pacific Northwest working with the Art Direction team on LAIKA’s new stop motion masterpiece film “Wildwood”. After years of building things on my own time for friends and family, I felt I should start documenting my journey in these creations and share them with the world. I hope you all enjoy these project videos as much as I do creating them. If you have any questions or want to inquire about getting a custom commission piece of your own, don't hesitate to reach out.

My word, this is astonishing! The *craftsmanship* is unreal! The time, dedication,& expertise involved in this is incredible! Amazing artistry!
@@zeej80 thanks so much! I really appreciate it
Are you selling the file for the base?
To begin with I thought this looks like what I’ve been looking for to project a Disney Castle Show onto my Disneyland Paris Model Replica, but I bevpcame daunted when I saw all your 3D Printer & Computing skills. At 62 I’m maybe not as up to the minute on such skills. Still, it was fascinating to watch. Good upload. I’ll definitely subscribe.
Which app did you use for this or which website? Can you create such a show as a private person?
That is something unreal👍👍👍👍👍did I really see you've written a special script for the effects?

You are an Amazing Artist !
@@robertbolinger1928 thank you! I really appreciate that
I've not come across any other makers who are putting this level of electronics into their pieces. I absolutely love this. I thought making a moving cemetery was insane... so I sorta stopped. This is what I needed to come across.
Thanks you! I appreciate the support! Best of luck on your project! That sounds awesome!
I so enjoyed watching this. Just smiling throughout. I’ve still to stand before the Falcon at Galaxies Edge. Probably be a blubbering mess as that little 10year kid back in 77 will get his wish. Your heartfelt words and incredible team build will be fell for generations to come. From the bottom of my heart ‘Thank You’
Thank you so much. I really appreciate the message!
What if The tiny soarin Sign was a collectible At Disneyland stores.
That would be an honor :-)
Hi please can you help us with the circuit diagram my 5 year old is mad on ghostbusters and want to create a GB Pack for his action figures
@greenghostuk I’m sorry, I wish I could help you with that but unfortunately, I’m unable to. Programming the Electronics is something I struggle with as well. I rely on a great friend of mine to help me out with that stuff. There are a lot of videos on RUclips that I’m sure can help you would with some tutorials on programming. Best of luck with your project!
Hey! Did you by any chance sell the AI file? This is awesome
Thanks for reaching out but unfortunately no. I do not sell the files for this. Glad you like the video.
This is freaking awesome! I'm building a Victorian house model complete with ghosts, flickering lights, a séance and more. I need your help. Where did you get the chandeliers? How did you put lights in them and then get them to flicker. Where'd you get the patterns for the doors? Motors... how did you determine what RPM to set them at and timing? I'm going to use multiple Arduino Nanos using a single power source. This way, the different rooms will be timed differently and different things will happen. If one thing fails, it doesn't affect the others. Any help about electric, coding and where to source parts would be great help. I'm not doing the Haunted Mansion but a lot of what you did is similar to what I'll be doing.
@getrealwithmike thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately there is not much I can help you out with. All the electrical programming was mastered by my friend over at Cryptic Industries. I collaborated with them on this project, as im still learning that side of things. I was able to find those chandeliers online but it’s been a few years now and I unfortunately can’t remember exactly where. As for the door, I completely model them out in sketchup from scratch using reference photos. Best of luck on your project. It sounds like it going to be amazing.
Wow that literally encompassed everything that is the haunted mansion, AMAZING!!👌
Thank you!
Awesome!
I imagine you are blest with creative work projects keeping you perpetually busy. My hope is that you could grace us again with one of your incredible builds and how you built it.
Thanks for the awesome comment. I’ve definitely been blest with my career and it has honestly kept me extremely busy. I have created a few things since my last project I posted. I hope one day I’ll edit them and post them up. I’m sure I will :-) thanks for the support.
This has to be one of the coolest things I’ve seen someone make!
Thank you! It was so much fun to make :-)
Just off the beaten path I found Nerd Forge. Talk about over the top! This is what we do when we don't get enough cardboard boxes to play with when we're young. Then we get some wire, some batteries and a computer that needs character or a Playstation. But the devil is in the details and you guys got him by the horns!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed. Its what we love to do!
I need one of those in my house
Thank you!
Might it be possible to do this but have the wires be short enough to be able to inside the pack?
It's been a while, I can't remember exactly why I did keep the wires outside. Im sure you could :-)
Please make new stuff please
Hopefully soon!
Haunted Mansion collector here and this is hands down the coolest thing I've ever seen!!! Amazing job!!!!
Thank you! I really appreciate it!
Absolute genius!
Thank you! :-)
About 7 years ago I made all of Ray’s Halloween houses and props. I just printed them off his site. I donated the whole town to the library at my grandchildren’s Christian school. The kids love it. Thank you Ray.
That sounds fun!
I've visited the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland more times than I can count--it's my most favorite ride in the park and it's always the first and last thing I do every visit. This is a beautiful representation and really nails all aspects of what makes the ride so fantastic. I just discovered book nooks and thought, "I want to make a Haunted Mansion nook." And then I found this and no matter what I come up with I'd be thinking of what you did. The craftsmanship is stellar and the pi effects, pepper's ghost and motors to run it all--how did you put it all together so well? I'd love to pull up a chair and watch you work and pick your brain as you created.
Thanks so much for the awesome comment. I feel the same way as you do about the Haunted Mansion. It's definatly the reason I love Disneyland so much. I had to make something that gave me the same happyness at home as the park did. This project was such a passion project for me and took me a while to design, fabricate and complete. I'm extremely happy with it. Best of luck on your HM project. I would love to see it if you are willing to share it with me.
I want one! I wish I had that kind of talent... and patience. Nice job!
Thank you very much! Im sure you can if you put your mind to it!
Hi. Hello. It’s 3 years later and too late at night and I’m all teary. I miss Disney! I can go. I have a pass. But it’s too hot. Lol. I stumbled on this because I like Asmr and I just watched this and woke my husband up to watch it. We’re grown ass Disney dorks. We both kinda grew up there, him because his family went on vacation there every year, and me because Disney has been in my backyard since I was 5 years old. Disney and especially Star Wars was so pivotal in our relationship, and the first time we saw Galaxy’s Edge, my 6’4 scary looking husband was a child again and it was so beautiful to see. And it was you!!!! And this story! You were part of our story and I had no idea. Thanks for making these videos. For my hearts sake, and for my sleeps sake. 😂😂😂 ❤ I love you and your partners story.
Sorry for such a late response but thank you so much for this wonderful comment! Its so amazing that this wonderful community enjoys the videos and the projects I've had the pleasure of being part of. Thank you for sharing you and your husbands story! My fiancée and I have been very fortunate to be on a few journeys like this together and this was one that I truly wanted to capture in a fun and unique way, that was not just a picture. Also, we were unable to take photos of course since at the time Galaxy's Edge was hidden from the world. I hope you and your husband get to go to the park and enjoy it again soon! I hope you have an unforgettable fun time!
Any chance you could share the plans and/or files?
Sorry, unfortunately I have not posted any plans or files for these. I'm sure some people have shared files of things.
Are there any new videos coming out soon?
Unfortunate my time has been consumed by work obligations but I have created a few new projects that I've filmed and hope to share with the world when I get a moment to edit them. Keep an eye out!
