Retiring and Exploring Japan Living in an Old House
Retiring and Exploring Japan Living in an Old House with my physically disabled husband. Retiring in Japan was our 2nd option because we tried retiring in the Philippines but it turned out as a failed plan because our security wasn't secured and our mental and emotional were unstable that took a tool on our health. Retiring in Japan is an ideal option for me and my husband. We are exploring Japan having moved to a new city which will give more opportunities for me socially and financially.

    Hello Grace 👋🏽 😊 The garden continues to bloom beautifully 🌱🌺 I have never tried chicken tinola. But as I watch you prepared it with such fresh ingredients, I am definitely interested in trying this tasty looking dish. ❤🍽 After seeing your past uploaded videos and hearing about your move to Japan, it seemed to have not been an easy adjustment. But it seems now that you have made a wonderful and peaceful life for your husband and yourself.🏠 I hope that all continues to be well🌱❤🌱😊

      @livingwithgraceinjapan 4 дня назад

      Hello, Joenell, I'm glad that you liked the chicken tinola and even wanting to try cooking it. It is a simple dish in the Philippines. When I was a little, we used to cook it using native chicken, which means, chickens from our yard. So it is more delicious than the chickens we have now. Anyway, yes. My husband and I tried 18 months retiring in the Philippines. It was a traumatic months for us. We were robbed, a thief got inside the house pretending a good person. Told us that our car parked outside was somehow scratched so my husband went to check and when I was in the kitchen, my bag where our bank cards, passport and mobile phones, and money were gone with the robber. We just arrived from the bank at that time and withdrawn an amount of cash for our daily expenses. Police Officers in the Philippines are not as effective as the law enforcers in Japan or I'm definitely sure, in the US. That's only one of the many scarest things I can remember. I could feel danger almost everyday in the Philippines. That's a long reply.... Joenell, thank you so much.

I am so very sorry to hear that such a cruel thing happened to you. You have amazing strength, Grace, to get past such an ordeal and move forward to making a better life for you and your husband in Japan. And I hope and pray thar it stays that way for you both. Truly appreciate you taking the time to respond back to me. I am so happy to hear from you and wish you both well in life and health 🌱😊❤️🙏🏽

We have to save everywhere we can , so I don't buy anything expensive . I rely on eggs for proteins , sometimes fish and plenty of fresh veggies . I cut off the water heater all summer and made do with cold water . Your garden is so nice ! You worked hard at it and it shows . Have a good evening 😊

    I don’t blame you to settle in Japan. I like your house and the area you live as shown on your videos. We planned to live in Pinas right after our retirement in 2006 but it all changed after our trip in 2010. We were concerned about 2 things which are security and health care. We are happy and settled here in Richmond BC 🇨🇦 which is now our home for the last 50 years. We sold our property and downsized into a secured 2 BR condo. It is expensive here but with our pensions, are enough to sustain us. Most Seniors are treated well and contented but of course still there are few that are not. Grace continue what you’ve been doing like gardening, cooking and few other things - that’s we are all doing as a retiree. Whatever makes you happy will make you feel stronger and younger!!! Talk to you again sometime.

      Hello, Sonia. Thank you so much for checking other video as it will make things easier to understand about this channel. I will continue making videos for the sake of "speaking" not "talking". I'm glad you find this channel. Thank you so much...

    Your garden is breathtaking. One of my favorites is coleus, which has different varieties. It is obvious that you painstakingly take care of the garden.

    Hello Grace - your videos are quite interesting as they show about life after retirement. It’s nice to watch what people can do after their retirement. I am 75 years old, and been living here in Canada for 5 decades now. Time went so fast that I didn’t realize it has been 18 years ago that we quit work. I just subscribed today and for sure your videos will surface on my playlist. I am glad to see you’re enjoying life as a retiree. By the way 59 years is not old!!! 😊

      Hello and thank you for watching and subscribing on this channel. I made this channel many years ago to save our travel videos. I did not even have the intention to show them in public. But I changed my plan since 2021- during the peak of pandemic and started filming seriously- my husband got ill and I was struggling mentally because of several factors. Financially, we are stable. Mentally, I was struggling. Please watch my future videos ( not for desire to gain views ) but please... share me your thoughts about our situation. I'm 59, I know I'm not that old, but seeing and experiencing things burdened by responsibilities is making me very old. Thank you, Ma'am, for coming and watching.

      @@livingwithgraceinjapan - you’re most welcome. I was intrigued by the cost of living in Japan. Vancouver is one of the most expensive cities in Canada. $15 nowadays will get you nowhere, maybe a burger, fries and a drink or a loaf of bread, butter, and a liter of milk. 50 years ago was well worth it. I am amazed with Japan, maybe one day we’ll be able to return and re-visit Japan. Nice to hear from you and all the best to you and your hubby! Regards, Sonia

    Hello Grace I hope that you and your husband have been well these past few days . The garden continues to look amazing with rich greenery and bright colors. It must be such a satisfaction to be able to prepare meals from the vegetables or fruits that come from your own garden. Because you have such a deep connection with your plants, I believe they provide you with the therapeutic joy and peace of mind that you seem to find when you're in your garden or tending to the plants in your home. I admire your strength in making a home for yourself in Japan. Learning a new language couldn't have been easy amongst other adaptations of settling into a new country. But you seemed to have done very well, Grace . Thank you for sharing another video of your life and personal journey. ❤🌱❤

      Hello, Joenell: My husband and I are doing well here as of this moment. Feeling relieved that Autumn has finally here, thus, heatwave of the Summer ends. Thank you for your comment. I hope you are doing well, my Friend, so with your family. The serenditiy of meeting friends through a channel of a "woman" trying to share how life goes on after retirement. I'm writing this comment while listening to the background music of this video- and that is making me very calm. Have a great weekend. Take care, Joenell... - Grace
