Let's build and customize gundams and other mecha plastic models.
Hi, I'm a novice modeler that started customizing and painting my kits in late 2022.
I have gained a lot of knowledge from watching other videos, reading from blogs as well as countless of hours reading posts in reddit and also trying stuff on my own. But I still feel there's a lot more to learn. My videos will showcase what I know but also techniques that I will try for the first time as I explore more ways to express my ideas into the polystyrene molds we all love so much. So I hope you watch and hopefully learn something useful to you and your own creative process.

Zaku Head Weathering: How to ruin a model to make it better.
In this video, I practice and refine weathering techniques I already know but also try to learn and use new ones to me. Chipping fluid to get real chipping and dot filtering to add a subtle tonal variation to large areas of the model. Let's have fun dirtying our models in a more realistic looking fashion.
First video of the 2025 and it's a quick one (relatively). I have been wanting to paint one of these gachapon model kits since I got one but never had the chance to. I thought this is the perfect opportunity to paint one, trying the previously mentioned techniques.

I switched brands! Just for a palate cleanser from Bandai kits. I was curious about this kit and wanted to see what I can come up with. It was a struggle but I think it went well enough. Yup, it does.
Yeah, no. I would rather run or surrender from the beginning than fight someone mad enough to pilot this mobile suit in a gundam show. Epyon alone already overpower, but combine it with new type bullshit then it's a death sentence your soul and body. On the other hand, this gunpla is top tier

So many steps, so much effort. And all worth it. The outcome is subtle, yet effective and believable. I saw this decal technique in a video a while back and thought it's worth a shot. I take it you did 5 very thin layers?

Intentionally ruining a kit is satisfying if not nerve racking. The end result is always a surprise.
"You have to ruin it first before you can fix it" is what I always have to remind myself of when I slather a wash all over it, ya just gotta trust the process! Most excellent work my mans, crazy just how much went into it & that decal sanding trick I'd never seen before, the outcome is 100% worth the effort!

Epic. Only thing i would maybe have done different is have the headfin be black to refer to Wolverine's black signature mask.
Yeah the poseability is great but the lack of poly caps really bugs me, like what if I'm one of those people who like to do customs and kit bashes and making scratch builds sometimes you need poly calves because your ability to make plastic on plastic joints doesn't work that well
I get that sentiment. I am recently trying more kitbashing for personnal projects and having polycaps is much simpler than trying to figure out how to make different joints work.

i don't like bandai's dry decals. they are too thick and no amount of top coat can hide them. the rub on decals are very difficult to apply because there is no space between the decals to cut and then secure onto the space i am generally okay with the water slide decals but have handling issues with the bigger pieces like the shield crest of the sazabi.
I agree completely. Bandai waterslides are ok, the larger ones give the most problem. It's like you have a time limit after getting them off the paper.
White Death Pharact is certainly a great look! Very nice camo pattern, tho it reminds me a bit of the Swedish M90, just in white (the blocky design is super cool tho!) Love the design!

Lol. Thanks man. I did try to hold myself impulses as much as I could. One thing led to another, but I still very much enjoyed this relatively quick build for me.
Have you all done a camo paint scheme before? How do you like it on gundams or mobile suits? Also, not an audio guy, but what do you think of the audio levels and cleanup?
Audio sounded great. Music is just a hair too loud relative to your voice, but that might just be my preference.

Reminds me of your Deathscythe. The paint you used. Mr. Crystal Color. Do you find that it changes the color of the overall piece? Or does it just add the green effect while viewing from an angle? Great work and I'm happy to wait in-between vids because you always deliver
Thank you my bro. The green effect is definitely more pronounced on certain angles but the Mr Crystal color does not change the overall color of the piece unless you spray it really thick, then the base color becomes paler and paler. I appreciate the kind words man, truly!
