I saw the skirmish prompt 'The stone in my hand' by Corinne Curico on the 50/90 site when I had a bee in my bonnet about a psychologist video on Facebook and I turned the overlong comment into a song in a really quickly formed lyric. Hope it's not too scrappy and confusing. The particular 'bellcurve' in question is IQ. And Galton - don't get me started!

Me too ❤😢
You heard it a lot too, and got fed up with it. There are better ways to say it, I think! ❤
Beatific. Its fairy language, it means sunshine. You have a smile like sunshine.
Well, I'm not looking for anyone, and I thought it meant sort of saintly to my mum, with mixed feelings. She did also once say that I was good looking in a wholesome kind of way too. And all compliments feel kinda weird, including from strangers on the internet. And sometimes distance from how I feel. It's not the most important thing in the world either. But anyway thankyou.
Facts
That’s what life is actually like! I don’t have ADHD. You are describing what the majority of people go through.
I've borrowed the sound from Olivia Lutfallah, but because I related to it. Nobody said nobody else has similar struggles. In some ways because it's relatable but also feels extreme might be why Olivia chose to make her short and is part of why I chose to remix. But we're getting close to "everyone's ADHD" or "Everyone's a bit autistic" which is a myth even though the operative part of thought there might be the "little bit" the idea of relative difficulty. There is also the question of how squarely this sits inside the criteria. But to meet the criteria for diagnosis in the assessment which is rigorous, there's questions of extent and impact, amongst other considerations. I disagree about the majority of people, though I imagine it must be a guess for both of us based on our friends, family and influences. They might be biased. But when I look outside my neurodivergent-heavy social circle, even to my family, the majority of people do not have the amount of scribbled notes of ideas but absolutely no career to speak of. The intensity of it and the time lost to it.
This is the same energy as telling a depressed person they should just be happy and everyone gets sad sometimes. It's a chemical imbalance bruh.
@hanadr dude I really appreciate the support, but you had me until the chemical imbalance bit: it's complicated and I'm terrible at summary, I'm not against the dopamine seeking theory of ADHD but with depression it's been admitted to be just a metaphor in court, by a Big Pharma company. I could go look up, I will but don't want to distract myself. Other points might include that it isn't neccesary to clinching the fact that ADHD exists. And biomedical models are shown to increase stigma in MH based studies even whilst they have been promoted as the gold standard of psychoeducation and awareness. It's partly because of the vested interests. I take a carefully balanced approach. When I had postnatal depression with OCD like elements I already knew a bit about some of the critiques and concerns (defensive special interest in Psych realm, as well as feminism a d general politics of marginalisation/exploitation, left wing analysis) and I felt like I was being fobbed off and patched up to play my role in the system, swallowing down patriarchy with every pill. But that was me. If it helps people it helps people. But the science of why is complicated and effect sizes generally have been exaggerated, some terrible practices had, including suppression of studies showing increased suicide risk in teenagers with SSRIs and systematic bribery of doctors in China. And there was persistent sock puppet infiltration when I was admin in an OCD FB group which had a rule against pharmaceutical company marketing, it was just for mutual support. So there's a need for caution, openness alongside and because of compassion. I don't like overly simplistic answers. Maybe that's me, part masking fighting all or nothing thinking, but it's also the fact that I don't overrate hierarchy and because I am quixotic and compassionate, thinking about the system and things.
train yourself to do ONE THING everyday. cured.
🤣🤣
I'm not sure whether to take you seriously or not. Yes that can be useful if not taken too literally - has been in the sense of just starting somewhere in the day, and on backlog domestic tasks or maybe what you could describe as self actualisation stuff and/or relaxation tasks (and going and looking at wildflowers on the way to a coffee shop was something that say)- but it's not that simple nor a cure (it's not my audio but I am an AuDHDer), ....and there's no use in just doing one thing overall because I have two children, one with higher care needs, and my husband has M.E. To be clear, and repeat myself the sound is not mine it's Olivia Lutfallah's although I do relate and have ADHD and am autistic but it was a slightly ironic use because I was out there just doing a healthy low-key thing even if it does attract stares.
@@kathybramley5609 One thing a day and more if if feels right but the next day still has one thing to be done. It works.
"Train yourself" 😂 And thats how I know you know nothing about the way ADHD works. You can't train yourself out of your biology, it's a disability caused by chemical imbalances in the brain, there's no training for that. It's also impossible to form true habits with ADHD, since every step of every activity needs to be done with conscious effort, no matter how many repititions you do
@@fariahcriss5696 I am very familiar with ADHD. Try it. It works. One thing a day. Ten things if you can....but the next day you still have the one thing to do. Behavior modification. It works. Avoid alcohol and drugs. It is caused by a lazy frontal lobe. Training yourself using a list and visuals. It works.
Yup…sometimes I don’t even know why I try
But it's good to remember Olivia who did the sound is expressing a common experience or feeling but it's not the whole experience. I do lose a lot of time. But I manage to survive. I look at wildflowers. There's a gentle deliberate and playful contrast here.
Also consensual no contact cyber hugs offered by way of demonstrative solidarity and comfort if required or helpful and acceptable ❤️✊
hear ya
Hmm well you hear Olivia who I nicked the sound from (well, remixed - her channel is great, you should check it out!) but I related. Hard relate. There's a gentle contradiction or contrast with my wildflower video - my sense of humour is a bit strange maybe. It's not a totally random combination, not like some shorts remixes are, or appear to be. It's me, an AuDHDer engaging in a gentle interest without taking the oddity of crouching looking at plants (and filming) in a carpark! My sense of humour is weird - the way my brain works.
😢
Today's update is now live! ☺️
Also - this is not my audio. I'm an AuDHDer and like Olivia, and related to the audio very much. And there's additional issues with our family housekeeping. But I'm going for lightheartedness, not really trying to make it too tragic! xx
SAME 1000%
Yes, I definitely related to Olivia's short and felt like I could reuse and apply it to a whole huge series on good days and bad days on specific things and also on the big plans that go nowhere, and the otherwise stuck days, be it autistic shutdown/ADHD paralysis/MH, executive function/physical condition and/or learned helplessness, and a range of things otherwise - I feel like it doesn't really matter in a way. I just wanted to bounce the experience around a bit, for itself. The audio just came through to me at a particular moment. 😁 Where I'd been feeling particularly stuck and frustrated in both those patterns as well as countering with like I say, good days or achievements. In the the teeth of some really tricky other stuff. It's like my AuDHD decided (which of course it didn't literally) that one of my special interests is business idea brainstorming, although that idea as neatly formed as it is came from someone else on Twitter a few years ago - just ought to make sure you realise the audio is Olivia's - it's a remix, it's not mine!
I hear ya. Sadly that’s not just ADHD, but TONS MORE, especially these days. And no, it is not reasonable to then assume they all have ADHD. It’s a bit like how most zoomers (and millenials) have trouble folding away washed and dried clothes. Sure, common in ADHD ppl, too, but so is having feet.
Honestly I have ADHD and ME/CFS, this sounds more like ME/CFS than ADHD. Or depression with mania 🤷
@@is-yn6jf @nordicmind82 ok. So the sound is @olivialutfallah not me - although I did relate. And nobody said it was definitely everyone with ADHD or exclusively so - I'm autistic as well and I didn't take it that literally! 😁 But am I taking the criticism literally!? As I'm wont to (hits the bell for rejection sensitivity as well now,). I also tend to jump in like we were halfway through a conversation sometimes and I feel like this happened here, kind of whiplashed dizzy. But I'm also excited to be collecting some meaty comments from a group of people and having conversations develop for the first time on my channel. Autistic and ADHD people tend to be a bit spoony anyway - sensory sensitivity, processing heavy, commonly more anxious stress-ball even if we don't have hyper-mobility or a co-occuring condition. There is also autistic catatonia which has some overlap. But I think Olivia was talking about ADHD paralysis versus racing driven thoughts, lots of creative ideas, impulsive but too many impulses to follow. So moving back to my kitchen video which was more about cleaning - I think I am limited by the above, may have me but that has only seemed recent, I tend to get fatigue and inflammatory type response but I can do the thumb test some of the time which suggests Ehlers Danlos Syndrome or some also undiagnosed degree of hyper-mobility spectrum disorder, sometimes think MCAS. But whilst not totally explained there's plenty going on for me and us as a family unit. And that does affect my cleaning abilities. My husband has CFS/ME and depression too. My MH can be fairly wobbly. I have been slowly working myself up to doing more. And trying to tackle some longer delayed jobs. But anyway, whilst I'm torn because I want conversation and miss Twitter since I left X... politely, I don't owe you my medical history and neither does Olivia. I am kinda glad this is on my my channel. I can definitely recognise the shape of the thinking and do it myself though.
@@kathybramley5609 hey sorry, I didn't mean to question you specifically, I know the sound isnt like a peer reviewed paper and that sharing common experiences is like one of the best parts of social media
Hey @nordicmind82 any thoughts
No worries, ☺️ thanks. Hope you're having a gorgeous day!
Your kitchen is like mine..ok, mine is worse..😬😆 it's a constant battle..❤❤
Well it has it's ups and downs!
In case of confusion I need to add that this is not my audio. I just related to it in a general way and decided to apply it to the state of my kitchen and maybe a whole series of other things in a light hearted way. I've been struggling but on a mission and slightly increased capacity, even whilst there's some more difficult things going on at the moment! Being silly with it. Dancing in the rain. Keeping the positive momentum where I can.
Ahh, I see various plants dock Chamimole, and Shep Purse, etc. Are these edible a source of nutrient like Purslane White Shepard, etc?
I noted all three in the video. Important advice before more info: You must be certain of your identification but not certain in the "I don't know what I'm doing" sort of way with wild foods. They're also importantly on a road bridge over the railway, busy enough to make it far from ideal place to harvest from, heavy metals from catalytic converters and diesel particulates likely contaminants. There's need for caution with all wild plants and new foods on the allergy front. Info The pineapple scented chamomile, Matricaria discoidea (Pineapple plant is what I grew up calling it) shouldn't be taken in large quantities and is best as a tea for insomnia as it has sedative effects.. Stronger than shop bought chamomile varieties I've heard tell. I mostly just take a sniff at it for a nostalgic childish sensory moment. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matricaria_discoidea www.wildwalks-southwest.co.uk/pineapple-weed-the-amazingly-fruity-weed/#:~:text=It%20can%20be%20used%20for,be%20consumed%20in%20large%20amounts. Curled dock , Rumex crispus (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rumex_crispus) contains potential toxins -and it's recommended to boil it in several changes of water - it is edible but not that tasty. Quite bitter. Shepherds purse (Capsella bursa-pastoris) can be eaten and is cultivated as a commercial crop in china according to Wikipedia. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capsella_bursa-pastoris
Haha! the look on that mans face screams did this seriously cost that much. 😂

Thank you for replying apologetically, but I still am not sure what kind of speechlessness, good or bad. Perhaps I have no right to know or perhaps that's the limitations of saying you're speechless though it's still a genuine emotion. I’m so pleased to have found your channel, I am a hobby gardener as well 😅 I’m still learning after many years. I found you from a comment you posted on Joseph Dewey’s channel!
Welcome! I am not a very big channel nor just a gardening channel, it is mostly poems, songs and at the moment craft and neurodivergent thoughts, concerns and confessions - some of which is the language side. But I need to get on with some gardening again, it's been on my mind. As has Cluttering and Speech disorder generally, I've mentioned it several times in other social media posts and platforms, and messaged a SALT outfit. Strange they mentioned cluttering on their website but turned me away because they didn't have an autism specialist. I shouldn't think what they need to do is that different with both. It seems like a strange panic. But my email was very messy and I mentioned not having a lot of cash and being a parent carer too so I am not sure if they just decided to make an excuse! I'll never know!!
Happy birthday in advance
