Not hating on your video, but why not pour a quart and a half into the measuring pitcher to start with if that's what is required in the manual? Enjoyed your video. 👍
Thanks, instructions was clear.
Would this be the same procedure on a 2014 Ford Explorer XLT with the 3.5 L V6?
Good video. Thank you.
Do you know how many ounces you put into the rear end transmission?
How much dose it take?
So none the steering is slightly stiff but everything feels fine on the steering nozzle and linkage wondering if there’s somewhere to grease the actual steering column area
The rogue only has a transfer case and a real differential correct to change The service department in Nissan wants to charge me for front differential change but I don't think that's correct
So it took 4.5 quarts? Trying to figure out how much to buy? First time doing it.
So might be a dumb question. But you do it three times. So the new fluid get wasted or is it just old fluid running through the transmission.
Thank you!
Thanks
Nice job, thanks for the instruction!!
Good job. Just bought a 2020 police interceptor with 3.0 turbo
Thank you
Too much dam talking and bad camera work smh
Thanks for the vid, it is very useful and straight to the point
My Yamaha it’s 2022 50 hrs I use at the river or lake no salt water whatsoever and got a temperature and check engine light on recently any hints will be appreciated
If you where pushing high RPMs for an extend period of time that can happen. If it doesn't overheat at ide or with extend use at mid RPM range there is likely nothing wrong. If it is overheating at ide or midrange then I would flush it using a garden hose (Engine running). If that does not correct the problem all of cooling lines should be checked for clogs and also check the anode rod. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for being my 1000th subscriber!
Thanks!! Saved me a couple hundred bucks and it went smoooth. Gotta love the fill port?
I actually just bought the same ski. So, for winterization, you're saying that it's best to spray the Yamaha lubricant in the throttle body and just try to make sure all of the water gets out of the system. Is there any way to make absolutely sure there's no water remaining? Thanks
If you're really worried about you can fit a 5 gallon bucket with a hose tap (www.amazon.com/Brass-Spigot-Barrel-Faucet-Water/dp/B09QYNS25L/ref=asc_df_B09QYNS25L/) and then fill it with a couple of gallons of RV/Boat antifreeze (www.walmart.com/ip/Super-Tech-RV-and-Marine-Antifreeze-1-Gallon/17179674). Then connect it to the flush port on the Waverunner with a short hose and run the machine until the bucket is empty. That will replace any water with antifreeze. Otherwise 30 days above freezing temperatures has always dried it out well enough for me given the climate where I live. Thanks for watching!
If you're in the new England area use antifreeze. Don't leave anything to chance. I'm sure he means we'll but I'd never let airdry as there's no such thing as air dry in a closed system. These machines aren't cheap. Antifreeze if you're a new Englander
Biying a 21 yamaha ex sport with 11 hrs freshwater only but im scared because no water test will i be okay $7500??
Start it, give it a couple of revs, keep it below 1500 RPMs. It is ok to run it out of the water for 15 seconds. If it sounds ok, there are not any warnings and it is not smoking, check the oil. If the oil is clean I would buy it. The TR1 motor is really solid and Yamaha makes a really good machine. Nothing is 100% but the above steps will eliminate the really bad things. Thanks for watching!
@@andysgarageadventures8043 dude ty so much
@andysgarageadventures8043 they are from Nashville just moved to Florida very nice people hopefully all works out ty again
@andysgarageadventures8043 we can run water but they won't let me test run because it's never seen saltwater I should be okay going out on a limb on this one my first ski
@@michaelstanton556 Run it with the hose connected for 5 minutes. If you don't get any warnings and it sounds ok, running it on the open want will not likely reveal anything more then the hose test. Good luck!
Great job with this video. Quick question. I have a 2015 Viking V1 and noticed it does not have the reaction arm on it as your does. Between the top of the engine and the frame. Did you install as an aftermarket option or did it come from the factory? I understand this helps with noise and vibration issues that are prevalent with these units? Thanks, Rick
On that 2017 I believe it was factory. The person I serviced it for bought it new and didn't modify anything. Thanks for watching!
Did you say 100 hrs maintenance?? Maybe 10 hrs would be better??
It wouldn't hurt, I have never seen anything damaged by performing maintenance to soon. Thanks for watching.
Great Explanation Sir....
Great job and you included resetting the pesky computer, too.
FFS now u see why the 15 minute jeffy Lube oil change takes 30+ minutes. This is progress folks.
What size is that hose (attached to your oil extractor) that you are using to go down the rubber hose to extract the oil? Also... what funnel is that? And... what size oil filter socket/wrench? Thanks!
This is the oil extraction pump I'm using: www.amazon.com/Powerbuilt-647570-Oil-Fluid-Extractor/dp/B00OCEGONC/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1VR67YL8C7MVC&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.8j3dnQePNQx3hRVzK2OBmA.ANUmxdYazeb4fRWAP3DXw7UEHSBQwdKJ66oo80bEEf4 and this is the funnel: www.harborfreight.com/18-inch-long-neck-black-funnel-66479.html?_br_psugg_q=long+funnel. Both links contain the specs. I believe the tube on the Waverunner to extract the oil has an inner diameter of 1/4 - 3/8 and inch. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Just replaced my former boss’s battery on his ski. He bought it new about 14 years ago and it was the original battery. I was shocked. We live in NE Indiana and he pulls the battery in the winter and it’s on a battery tender. And here I am doing like you almost and swap out at 5 years. lol I store ours in our heated hanger.
What was the mileage on your 2017 Explorer when you change the transmission oil?
About 60k. Thanks for watching!
Do not half-butt this oil change, do the full ‘advanced’ oil change or else you risk over filling.
My videos represent the real me, and that includes the bad stuff as well. Thanks for watching!
Thank you....your explanation along the way and details really help!
What’s the black twist cap on top I thought you pour the oil in there ?
I cover those steps in this video: ruclips.net/video/8mRskHiAKQs/видео.html Thanks for watching!
Thanks for a great tutorial! Super helpful 👍👍
Have the 2.3 ecoboost in my wife explorer and I don't see a transmission cap at all.
You said you did it 3 times but 12 quarts isn't enough to do it 3 times.
I had extra bottles, they were not in a box so I didn’t show them. Thanks for watching and commenting.
One small but very important mistake, The oil filter should not be pressed into the canister. The filter needs to be placed into place on top of the engine…then threading the canister over the filter. A very important reason for this is so that a small rubber nub that sits below the filter, is NOT dislodged by the twisting of the filter.
Thankyou for video
thank you for the fantastic video. very clear and concise. wish me luck tomorrow! :)
Just bought a 23 and have about 10 hrs. Looks almost identical. Your video will help greatly. Thanks a bunch!
When the oil is empty, how many quarts do you put in it so it is on the full mark?
4 quarts. Thanks for watching!
Was this the factory yamaha heater kit
Yes, and it was purchased from an authorized Yamaha dealer. Thanks, for watching!
Volunes too low
You are way to far from the camera!!!!!
You don't have to pry them ears up to turn that plug, all you have to do is get a pair of pliers or channel locks and gently turn the plug and them ears will pop up over that small latching part. 👍😎👍
The video is great, but I have questions. At the beginning of the video, you said that you would need approximately 12 quarts of transmission fluid. 144 oz is about 4.5 quarts. How do you replace all the fluid if only 4.5 quarts comes out of drain hole?
Thanks for the question, yes you have to repeat the steps 2-3 times. There is not a way to get all the fluid out at one.
so I actually need 14 qts on hand?
Andy, have you ever adjusted the valves on your 2019 Yamaha? I was told that is should be done after 1200 miles.
You only need to check the clearance at 1200 and adjust if out of spec. I have not see one that needed an adjustment to date. The key is to change the oil as per the manual. Thanks for watching!
Excellent job !! Helped me immensely !
ONLY 104 FOOT LBS. TO MUCH ON THAT SPRK PLUG, SPEC IS 9.4 FT. LBS. OF TORQUE ON THE SPARK PLUG.
Correct the spec is 9.4 foot pounds but that converts to about 109 inch pounds. I was working in inch pounds. Thanks for watching!
Doesn't it have a transmission filter like some cars?
It does but to access it you have to split the case. Splitting the case requires removing the transmission from the car so basically to get max life from that transmission you should change the fluid regularly to keep the filter from clogging. Thanks for watching!
