Building the whole room bro! Clean power, dedicated power, fully sound proof room, lumber prices, insolation, floor is floating, ceiling is floating on rubber vibration disks, sound proof doors, engineer hardwoods, lots of underlayment. Labor costs. Your turn!

You have great acoustic treatment. Love the low treatment. Just curious....how is your Monitors tuned to your room?
Thanks man! We did some measuring to make sure I’m sitting inside the “triangle.” All of the walls are angled in the room (designed that way), panels are low which helps, and also it’s not perfect! It’s taken me 15 years to learn my speakers. A lot of it, is just learning the speakers from doing tons of mixes!
Also my “MIT” time Aligned speaker cables have a lot to do with the speakers sounding so accurate!

why was dude using a Measuring tape, to measure cymbal height, I work on World class records for a living with Universal and have never ever used a measuring tape, GREAT INSIGHT into the hospitality.....more studios need this!

Maybe because he found a sweet spot with the mic and that cymbal! I know I could reset my Neumann U87 mics on my grand piano for my artists and would measure mic positions. If I got the mic in the exact position as all of their sessions I could edit in pick ups over up to 2 years on the same solo piano track that you'd never tell weren't recorded on the same day! This is going back 15 years for this example.
