The symbolism of Viktor choosing the work they were doing together to save lives and make change over a girl, vs Jayce getting it on with Mel. Jayce being in the spotlight while Viktor does a lot of the breakthrough work and experimentation. Jayce is from Piltover. Viktor from Zaun. The two sides of the same coin; Jayce is the side that’s facing up and Viktor the one that’s on the underside not shown. The comparison between Jayce choosing Mel and Viktor choosing the hexcore is INSANE the way they did this. ESPECIALLY how they framed it with Mel in bed after her and Jayce piped, then to Jayce no longer by Mel’s side, but by Viktors. Very interesting choices on the writers part. 👀 the comparisons not only between Jayce and Viktor- but Viktor to Mel, are wild. Especially considering Jayce and Mel’s obvious relationship that’s outwardly shown vs the subtlety of “oh I didn’t realize he was so important to you” from Mel. Everytime the three of them showed up on screen in the same room there was palpable tension of Mel being Jayce’s mistress and Viktor the wife scorned imo

I feel like the scene where mel and jayce are. yk. while viktor is dying symbolises the sheer difference in importance/weight they give hextech. viktors eyes are wide open the entire time-- hoping to catch anything and everything to note down so he could understand it, while jayce has his eyes closed, enjoying mels presence and taking his time. viktor being unconcious while mel and jayce have only just started their. yk. could also symbolise the difference in how much time he has left compared to them. they can afford to enjoy themselves and have a break, while viktors life LITERALLY depends on it. also, another thing to point out-- almost every single time jayce has chosen anybody over viktor, its led things to fuck up. also-- viktor seems to look to jayce in 5:17 as though hes wanting him to stay- to choose his health and his importance as his partner and friend over piltover. it looks like hes asking him if hes serious about leaving all of a sudden, but he wont argue because he KNOWS that its necessary- and like he said before, he had to believe in HIMSELF. he wanted jayce to be there, but he wouldnt beg him because he could get through it all himself before. idk but thats my takeaway

I need to see them slowly falling in love during the timeskip between eps 3 and 4, before their lowkey break up era and then reconilliation era during eps 8 and 9 and then their full blown divorce era before FINALLY tying the knot and going on an intergalactic honeymoon
