Tudor Dancing at Thornbury Castle #shorts
Просмотров 4182 месяца назад
Our guests for yesterday’s Tudor Royalty Experience Day had a special treat. We had the brilliant Tudor musicians Helen and Richard of Merchant House Musicians to lead us in a dance called the Horse Branle (pronounced brawl). In Thornbury Castle’s Goodly garden. Sadly I couldn’t join in with my broken toe! So at least I could video it. It was great fun ☺️💕 www.tudorroyaltyexperience.co.uk

How much would a commissioned Tudor gown run? General estimate?
Hi, My Tudor French Gowns start at £2,500. Please email me at lady.samantha@tudorroyaltyexperience.co.uk for full details ☺️💕
Stunning pieces! The attention to detail is exquisite ❤
I love Catherine Parr 1:14
I saw your video as looking to purchase for my Tudor crazy 11 year old granddaughter for her trip to The Tower of London, although I would love to buy her a genuine costume just not practical for her age but thank you for this video, a question though, I'm assuming it requires a hooped underskirt which again assuming it dosnt come with.
Hi, if you are asking about the Aliexpress gown, then no it doesn’t come with a hooped skirt , hood or any of the other accessories. If you are asking about my gowns, then yes they come with all the underpinnings and accessories needed 😊💕
jerks.
Beautiful work of art
It is all so beautiful. Jane Seymore Did tone down the fasions frm Ann who adopted much frm the French Court. Jane still wore the gabled head dress while Ann wore the French hood. Also the sleeves which Ann wore to hide the slight deformity in her little finger. Katherine Parr by almost divine intervention escaped execution frm Henry when her sister saw a piece of paper fall to the ground unnoticed by his minister which she picked up and saw it was the warrant for Katherines arrest. Luckily, she barely escaped with her life because of it. Later, it was only by the death of Henry himself that saved her life. So I believe. Henry, at the time had become enamored with his neice, the beautiful Duchess of Suffulk, whom he fantacised about marrying. To fall under Henrys eye as a prospective wife was literally a death sentence. The clothing of the Tûdor, Henry Vlll era was so fascinating and in cases beautiful. My favorite movie reflecting the beautiful fashions was Anne Of The Thousand Days! And you do such a beautiful replica of the exquisite dresses of those times. Thank you so much. Now, nearing the end of 2024, I find fashion to almost literally have disappeared entirely. Clothing consisting of tights, plain sweaters or shirts in drab colors seem to be uniform in the usa, and rarely is anything else seen. Guess its a sign of the times.😢 So wish we could wear the clothing of bygone times. So beautiful!
stunning
Thank you so much ☺️💕
This is so cute and interesting! I'd never heard of this dance before. Sorry about your toe!
Thank you! 😊💕
What a wonderful experience. Those musicians are so very talented ❤
Gorgeous gowns!
Thank you 🥰
That's awesome!!! The dress and headpiece are amazing, well done T.R.D.! And the location for the photos is perfect, you look truly lovely, my dear!!
Thank you so much. ☺️💕
Красивое плптье
Thank you ☺️💕
Simply stunning
Thank you 😊💕
This is amazing, such talent and the style is beautiful, better than what we have now ❤️
Thank you 😊💕
For an aliexpress product, its very well preserved.
this is sad that your photos were taken and not credited for the original inspiration for their costumes. I will admit I tried buying costume from an ALiexpress store and long story short they outted them selves in a message in concerns about one of their costumes. they literally admitted the dress wouldn't be accurate to the photo. plus I hate stores that don't show their product but instead a model photo from someone's work or movie screenshot and don't even share their version of the product which would be nice. sometimes the review section may give you some hope with photos of their purchases but a lot of times it's just a comment nothing more.
Thank you, it is annoying, but sadly it seems to be so ingrained in the ‘on-line’ fashion culture, I don’t think we can do anything about it except out them when it happens. ☺️💕
Bags: CAT TOYS!!!
What furs were typical for the period?
Rabbit and Fox was probably the most common in England, but the Royal family could afford more exotic furs from Africa and from as far as the Far East ☺️💕
Hey, I can put a face to the skill!
Thank you Susan, I prefer my guests to be in front of the camera instead of me, but occasionally I have to show myself 😂💕
So awesome, well done!
Beautiful gowns ladies. Did you make them? It must be wonderful to swan around a garden with the swish of silk. 😊
Thank you, yes, they are wearing my gowns ☺️💕
How many yards of fabric would you say you average per overgown? I'm in the process of my first historically accurate recreation of an Anne Boleyn dress made with historically recreated fabrics based on her inventory during life and I'm astounded by the yardages..
Hi, yes there’s a lot of fabric in each gown. Based on 44” width fabric, there’s approx 10 yards top fabric plus 10 for lining. For the Kirtle and sleeves it’s approximately 5 yards top fabric, plus the same lining. So in all about 30 yards. Good luck with the Anne Boleyn gown. It’s so worth the effort ☺️💕
@@tudorroyaltyexperience thank you! I gave myself a year which, as strictly an historical hobbyist, I hope is enough time. Maybe if I'm brave enough I'll upload a picture. Much love! ❤️
Amazing embroidery skills, love this one 😍
Thank you! 😊💕
I would love all of them. Stunning creations.
Thank you so much ☺️💕
I saw my gown Yay!
☺️💕
Absolutely stunning work! Definitely an inspiration for my own historical sewing projects!!
Thank you, that’s wonderful! ☺️💕
How likely would it have been for Tudor gowns to have been blue and silver? It’s not common to see portraits with silver - usually gold is the preferred metal. And reds, oranges, or blacks are preferred over blues. Is this an anachronistic, beautiful modern take on the Tudor period, or would someone have actually worn something like this? And if so, would it have been seen as stylish? EDIT: Regardless, I love the gown and colours, and would love to wear it!
Thank you, great question. Cloth of gold and silver would have been worn by the Royal Family and Indigo would have been used to dye silks and wool to create a rich blue colour. Indigo was also used to create black (which was exceptionally expensive) but the dying process would be carried out many times and be very laborious to create the black colour desired 😊💕
Beautiful dressing. I really like and like to try it on Viviam 😊
I love the Simplicity of the sleeves! it's in line with a more modern era.
It's stunning.
Thank you so much 😊💕
Sumptuous red fabric ❤️
Cloth of gold is still made?😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
I’m sure it is, but is probably almost impossible to get and even harder to pay for! This fabric is gold coloured silk. ☺️💕
Gorgeous gown.
Thank you ☺️💕
I like it very much.. Viviam
Thank you 😊💕
Beautiful blue, really besutiful😊
Thank you 😊💕
Beautiful Jane. Dressing beautiful on Jane.😊 Vivian
Thank you Vivian ☺️💕
@@tudorroyaltyexperience you are welcome. 😁😀
Beautiful dressing. I really like it.😊 Vivian
Love how parts of the veil look like hair.💕 💞 Also royal navy blue is such a beautiful colour on tudor dress 👗, so pretty ❤
Thank you ☺️💕
May I ask how long was the veil?
The veil on my hoods are about 18” long ☺️💕
Beautiful, beautiful dressing. Love to try on. Vivian zhang
Beautiful dressing, i love to try on.😊 Viviam
Beautiful in 1998 a friend and I made 2 dresses similar to movie Elizabeth starring Kate Blanchette they were finished in 1999 they were later bought for $3000 each by someone who was a history fan❤
It's gorgeous. I would love to wear it
You can if you book one of our Tudor Royalty Experience packages ☺️💕
In tudor times sleeves where still separate and laced to the gown, hence the song Green Sleeves.
Yes the lower inner sleeves were separate and laced into the overgown bell sleeves. ☺️💕
i love dr kat
She’s great and so incredibly knowledgeable ☺️💕
so many birds
Clare has an amazing number of birds. We love working with her and seeing them ☺️💕
Did they wear all those layers in the summer.
Hi, they would have, but in lighter fabrics such as fine linen, silk and hemp. They would have also worn an additional layer of a u-fronted petticoat when it was cold and during the winter. ☺️💕
Is the pattern stitched on by hand? Or is that beading? It’s so stunning
Hi, the pattern is part of the fabric ☺️💕
