Celebrating Slavic culture through education, dance, music and food. The Mahoning Valley has a proud ethnic heritage. This history has been highlighted at different festivals and events held in recent years all around our region. Simply Slavic's mission is dedicated to educating both the large number of local Slavic descendents and the Greater Youngstown community-at-large about Slavic heritage. We plan to showcase the rich traditions of Slavic culture by celebrating the food, music, dance and customs of the various Slavic ethnicities which are represented in our metropolitan area. We will present information regarding the European nations from which our beloved ancestors arrived. By expanding the community's knowledge through the experience of celebrating Slavic culture, we hope to both honor our ancestors and enrich the lives of all who are exposed.

Great dance lesson - should help me with those Irish polka sets. The Borlin Polka set is lovely

Good drmes. I would call it a circle dance though and not a line dance. Hence Kolo means circle.
From an Australian with Macedonian, Serbian and Croatian roots this was very beautiful and very much appreciated. Elegance 🇧🇾🇧🇦🇧🇬🇭🇷🇨🇿🇵🇱🇲🇪🇲🇰🇷🇺🇷🇸🇸🇰🇸🇮🇺🇦

Uzicko kolo
This video was very helpful. Thank you 😃
turn around
Helpful! Thanks.
Incredible. Thank you for the nice video!
You have no clue what kolo is,but seriously.Bosnians are born for kolo. Thanks, but that’s just not kolo.I wish if you know better, but you’re still young, you can learn.Visit Bosnia sometimes and see what real kolo is.
There are many different types of kolo. This is kolo, and so is probably your type over there. Invalidating her for dancing a certain way is a bit strange to me.
Hvala! Niko mi dosad nije mogao pokazati korake polako.
Da si živa i zdrava. Baš tako se igra Užiko kolo. Hvala na ovom video zapisu.

1:50 Bagpipes are also a staple of Czech folk culture, mainly in Southern Bohemia and the Chod region, as well as in Moravia. There is even an International Bagpipe Festival taking place in the town of Strakonice every year.
Please be culturally respectful and cognizant and know that POLKA is POLISH. POLKA literally means the female form of Polak which is Polka. As in a dancing Polish woman.
Polka is a Czech dance. It is only called that way, the Czech word for 'a Polishwoman', but it certainly originated in Bohemia
@@joannaszulc1496 Polka means Polish woman in Polish.
@@GrzegorzDurdacool but polka is still a Czech dance originally
I am Croatian and I have a svadba (wedding) to attend to, so I need to learn how to dance kolo😉

Noooo, dont do it!! Dont use ground beef!! I can always tell sarma made by an American because of the reliance on ground beef. It makes the sarma taste like hamburger helper. Depending on ones faith... if the recipe calls for one pound of meat; you can use 1 lb of ground pork; 1 lb of sausage meat without the casings, a mixture of .5 lb ground pork/ .5lb ground lamb, or 1 lb of ground lamb. Hungarian smoked sausage, pork ribs, and bacon from the deli also work to add flavor... just skip the ground beef.
Please note "kolo" translates to circle dances, not line dances.
Hopa
