Oh my goodness, what a disgrace from European point of view.
Absolutely amazing! 👏
The Broadway show is much better than the 2004 movie and I aaw the show on tour and it was amazing and my first time i ever got hooked into Broadway. Wicked was my favorite show and lion king.
Bring it back!!!!
Saw this show a couple of years ago on Broadway. Absolutely incredible. Will miss it so much
There is nothing more exciting than seeing this in person!
This is the best version of this portion (Lot 666) of Phantom I’ve seen. The delivery is great.
I remember seeing the Broadway play when I was in 6th grade (I think 2002). I think my jaw dropped when I first saw that!
I saw the one in London and I freaked out watching it fall because it was swinging down so fast 😅
I saw Phantom of the Opera twice at Norfolk Virginia's Chrysler Hall.
Sorry, but all the cheering and clapping from the audience is a huge NO, NO!!!!!
It’s the 35th anniversary. They’re allowed to give the chandelier a cheer. It’s iconic.
was this taken wigh a phone camera? Stolen pictres.
I’m so glad I was able to see masterpiece on 10/24/21 with my dear mother. My mother has seen this show 27 times. She’s even seen it in Las Vegas. She loves the show so much, she even won tickets for it 10 years ago. After seeing it for the first time that day, I can understand why she’s seen it so many times. The show is phenomenal. Such a shame that it’s gone now. The chandelier rising with that iconic theme playing gives me the goosebumps.
Gd musical theatre line readings...is the auctioneer telling a story? Is he tryna giving us information or does he LOVE how trained his voice is?
I Watched that Show Back on June 2019 during our Summer Trip and I Really Enjoyed it! I Am so Sad to Hear that this Show is No Longer at this Theater.
The way I cried when I saw this live in my country and I still don’t know why 😭💖 (well, the music was unreal and wonderful so maybe that’s why lol)
The standing ovation at the first few minutes says it all
Another victim of Bidenomics.
I watched the recorded musical for the first time at my friends house a few weeks ago before we flew to Japan (just got home last night) and watched it live in person in Japanese for the first time, and this has to be the best intro to anything I had ever seen on a stage. Those organs and drums are real epic.
Maria Bjenson would be proud.
While I appreciate the crowds enthusiasm, I personally would find all the cheering and clapping very annoying.
I just want to know when theature went from a simple short applause after a song, to a metallica concert with the shouting and hollering? Good lort people! Shut up and contain yourself
It might just be the anniversary or show closing factors. I saw it in NYC a couple months before they announced it was gonna be closing and the crowd was quiet.
I'll keep myself alive until the Broadway revival 😊😊😊
Me too! See you on opening night!😊
Why can’t people just point and hold the camera with the subject in frame why is it so hard ?
Will always be a Broadway classic.
Great angle for this particular shot!
Thanks for sharing this! And yeah, I didn't like the Cameron Mackintosh restaging, either. It looked like a dollhouse and wasn't convincing. I saw the original a bunch of times, all at Gammage Auditorium on the ASU campus.
Woah ive gotta see thia in person 😮❤
Is this Camerion Mackentosh' Phantom of the Opera?
Man, I’m so sad that I never got to see this in person :(
Epic
The first time I went to go see the show was 6 or 7 years ago. I shat myself because the music was so loud and terrifying. It is still my absolute favorite musical, and I get chills whenever I hear the overture.
You made me laugh 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@lifeisfundisney6029 😅😅
The last few times I saw this on stage, audiences starting clapping and cheering as soon as the overture started, then really cheered as the chandelier started to rise.
Went to see it with my partner at His Majesty's Theatre in London last weekend. Absolutely breath taking. An spectacular performance I will never forget.
I saw this in person in Chicago many years ago, and there was a collective gasp when the chandelier came to life.
There is nothing more majestic than seeing that chandelier rise up, hearing the Overture and seeing the curtains dramatically whipped off the set. 🥹
I saved this video to my favorites just so I can always revisit the splendor of Maria Björnson’s set design. She truly was the MVP of Phantom.
Much prefer the West End crowd than broadway. cheering and wooping during a performance is so uncultured.
This was the 35th anniversary performance what did you expect pure silence
No, this is exactly what I expected having seen shows on Broadway before, an unsophisticated crowd always ruins it.
I wished I could’ve seen this live 😢
Damm this is so fire that the phantom of the opera might get revived
Nothing beats seeing this in person, utterly incredible!
I remember as a kid going to see this with my parents and thinking "oh great this is gonna be boring". Turns out I loved it and it captured my heart. Phantom was, is, and always will be one of the most bad ass Broadway shows ever. I'll miss it.
The first time I saw it I was so scared for the majority of the play I hid myself in my mothers side
Goosebumps!!!
@@KittyKat-ky5usOmg same!! I couldn’t sleep when I got home lol.
Thank you!!! Saw Phantom twice..’93 Davis Gaines in LA and D’Ambrosio in San Francisco in ‘95. The overture always makes the hairs stand up!!! ❤❤❤
I weep knowing I'll never get to see this show live 😭
This video brought back such great memories. My brother and I saw this on Broadway at the then outrageous price of $100.00 a ticket with the original cast minus Sara Brightman. We both sat eight rows from the rear of the last mezzanine but even there, the show was a marvel.
I've never seen this live, I've been into POTO since two days ago, and I'm crying over the chandelier. It's so powerful.
I will forever be so grateful that I got to see Phantom at its peak with the glorious huge orchestra and the beautiful proscenium statues and the pure 80s extravagance of it all. Nothing will ever come close to the feeling of that chandelier rising to the ceiling of the Majestic while the sheer force of the overture rumbles your seat. I would do unspeakable things just to get this show back on Broadway in its original form.
What I wouldn't give to see this on broadway for the first time again
Went to see Phantom in the West End a few years ago. Would do it again anytime. Is hands-down my favourite musical.
I’m so sad I will never get to experience this. I used to beg my parents to go and now it’s gone 😭😭
