Did I REALLY Find This Metal Detecting A Church Yard?
I watched 20 RUclips videos on the AccuPoint by far this one is the best. So many people hate on this one. I like the battery meter, Bluetooth, Iron bias, no more 9v to carry, super loud for us older guys. Thanks for the video.
I appreciate your positive comment, it means a lot to me and thanks for watching! I have not personally had any problems with the accupoint, I do not usually pair it so I can't speak to that but I agree with your points. I love the iron bias feature and the lcd screen. Thanks again for dropping by.
I found one at an old park in my city. Very cool
I heard the vdi is more stable with the update
It does seem like it's a little more stable after the update
I like the wire, moldable closing feature. I like my pouch, but that's a feature I'd like for my next one. Thank you for the review.
Thank you, it is a nice pouch, the canvas material holds up very well.
I really like your videos. You have such a practical, straightforward way of presenting information. You've become one of my favorite channels,
I really appreciate your kind comments, thank you so much!
I just updated mine two days ago and will be taking it to a river in the next few days. Good video! Very clear and helpful.
@@MetalDetectingMermaid Thank you! I’ve never had any problems with the XTerra Pro in the water. Good luck on your hunt!
@@dcmdetects What settings do you recommend for freshwater? I've only been at the beach, so I have no idea what mode or frequency to use for a river. Mexican pesos have a lot of iron, so I'll be on All Metals. I'm watching your "Avoid This Metal Detecting Mistake" video right now.
@@MetalDetectingMermaid that's interesting about the pesos, it must be pretty awesome detecting in Mexico. I have used all three modes in freshwater. 10 or 15khz seemed to work best for me and number 2, if using beach 2, it is locked in at 8khz. I also keep my recovery at 1 or 2, you really can't swing fast in the water anyway so I have often times used 1 for recovery. I toggle all metal on. One thing that gets people frustrated using the XTerra Pro is that they many times run their sensitivity too high. Not saying you have done this but a lot of people do. The XTP can be very unstable at higher sensitivity levels. It is a very sensitive detector. I hardly ever run mine any higher than 20. Most of the time I am at 16 or 17 and at times I have been even lower. You will still find targets at good depths and there is no need to run it at 25 (that's been my experience). Experiment with the modes and the frequencies. The higher frequencies will tend to find the smaller targets more easily, that's why the default is 15khz for Park 2 and Field 2, it's more geared towards finding smaller jewelry or relics in those modes.
Hi sir thanks for this video, but with 68 can go more depth
Very helpful! You have a great way of presenting information. I'm enjoying your videos.
@@MetalDetectingMermaid thank you so much for the kind words! I appreciate you watching!
This is very helpful! Thank you. I'm new to this and don't know anything about headphone tech.
Glad to help! Thanks for watching!

You are 100% right about this
Been doing this with my pro find 35 since I got it. Chair leg stopper. Just got the Mi6 and will be looking for this type for it. I also use school book contact to wrap the shaft before I put the cap on. Cheap and replaceable keeps it like new.
@@MTBUPGRADES great tip for using the contact paper, thanks for sharing that!
I have to dig a lot. Dig it all hunt all metal.
@@BobHolland1949 if I’m relic hunting I definitely use all metal and I dig a lot also. These settings are just meant for cherry picking in a trashy park or if you don’t have much time. At least that’s what I use them for.
You should be getting gold with those nickels.
I found one that gave directions, just the flat metal part, not the tab.
I really like the D2 and the Manticore. 😊
I have not used a Manticore so I can't speak on it but I have heard good things about it. The D2 is a great detector for sure. Thanks for the comment!
I love my xtp. Been using that coin set up you showed a while back and I'm up to about $50 in clad from some parks i been searching. Ready to hit the bean field now that it's cut. Only dreaming what I may find in it.
The XTP is a great detector. That's a pretty awesome haul on the clad! Hope you get to hit that bean field soon. I will be getting into a couple of cotton fields soon myself. Good luck on your hunts!
@@dcmdetects I will here in about a week after I'm finished deer hunting. Glad there isn't any corn stubble like last years crop. It was a pain when I was trying my xtp out back in the early spring. Good luck in your cotton fields.
@@darinblackburn6023 Yeah corn fields can be tough, sometimes the cotton can too if they didn't disc over it again after harvest. We'll see...
Recently I have visted your channel here i can see that you have uploaded a lot of video. But your some video viewer is good and some video viewers is very bad, thats reason of your video not SEO friendly,, SEO means Search Engine Optimization.
Nice Video! I retired last Fall at age 62...Last Winter I purchased a detector...I spend 40-50 hours a month with the machine...It took me a couple of months to figure the machine out...As of this post I am at about 950 coins found...Best find is a 10k bracelet that sold for $350... Numerous rings and bracelet charms...I think the biggest problem is that operating instructions that come with most machines are vague and people don't know what they are doing with their new machine...It ends up in the closet!
The operating instructions can be vague sometimes and it doesn't help that with many detectors you will have to go and search for an online manual because they do not include print manuals in the box. Some include it but not all and most people aren't going to all that trouble. Can't say as I blame them. Congratulations on the finds! I honestly haven't found a lot of jewelry, mostly coins. Putting that time in certainly helps! I appreciate you watching! Thank you!
your content ar excellent.. But you have no SEO optimization that's why ur video not going in your targeted people
Hi, Do i still need a transmitter if the headphones are low latency and APTX
@@Bad_Boy-Kraken I have not tried APTX headphones that are not minleab to test that. My understanding is that Minleab uses their own proprietary Bluetooth technology that pairs only with their headphones. If you have a pair or access to a pair of APTX already give it a shot. I’m not sure if it will work. Minelab sells a transmitter also (WM09) but it’s over 100 dollars.
Awesome !!!
@@JenningsPutnamArt1991 thank you!
@@dcmdetects Yep 👍 I love finding the Cross and jewelry!
@@JenningsPutnamArt1991 me too!
I ordered the V8X yesterday. Can't wait to try it. It seems like it helps with the jumpy VDI over the stock coil. I'll keep that one for the beach and use the V8X for the parks!
It's an awesome coil! I love using mine in the parks and in the woods. Thanks for watching!
I always wonders it the wears off how would you know down the road. I took a picture of mine. Like the carbon fiber overlay. Thanks for sharing.
@@DetectDigSmile yes I would make sure you write the number down or take a picture as you said. Also, if you go into pairing on the WS6 or RC and plug the charger into the coil it should pair without entering the serial number. Thanks for watching!
@@dcmdetects Great to know, did not know that.
I have a Nokta simplex plus that I have been using the paste 2+ years but I want to upgrade and I had my eye on this Minelab X-Terra Elite. So how do you like this Machine ???
@@RickyD1968 I like it a lot, I’ve also used the XTerra Pro quite a bit so using the Elite felt very natural for me. It is my understanding that the Elite uses the same processor technology as the Equinox 700/900 but I have not confirmed that. If you like Nokta detectors you may want to have a look at the Triple Score if you haven’t already. I’ve heard really good things about that detector. Their Pro Pack has the SC24 coil and wireless headphones for 499. (Last time I looked). The Elite Expedition pack is 599. There are so many great choices for detectors now it’s hard to decide.
A suggestion for cutting roots up to 1 inch without having to hack away with your digger or shovel and damaging your find. Get a quality pair of bypass pruning shears, The kind where you have metal (not pot metal) steel handles all the way to the cutter part. The kind where you can operate them with one hand. They also work great in the woods for cutting small vines and low overhanging brush, the kind that can put an eye out. I have been hunting since 1960, I am 74 now and that was my solution for roots and other flora. I live in S.E. Lower Michigan.
That is a great suggestion, I appreciate you sharing that here. Thank you!
I absolutely love mine, 9 mos thus far with it. I love that the opening is firm and moldable, staying open without having to fumble around trying to do so!
@@MiamiDetectorist that moldable opening is awesome, 😎 one of my favorite features! I appreciate you watching! Thank you!
Man, what a coincidence. I was just looking at that one lastnight. The first one I bought 6 months ago is already falling apart. Zipper came off. Stitching coming loose and rips. Finally got my camo excalibur shovel a few weeks and now looking at one of his hand diggers. Best shovel I've ever used. Should've spent the money up front lol now I'm wanting a new dector too lol
@@darinblackburn6023 I did the same thing! Bought two pouches one started falling apart and the other I didn’t like the way the top was, I was having to fight to get things in the pouch. Should have bought this one first. Congrats on the Excalibur, it’s a great shovel! I appreciate your watching, thank you!

That is a keeper pull tab! Pretty unique!
Thanks! I don't normally keep them but it's different.
20 years and counting. Still learing.
We are always learning for sure, every day I learn something new. I appreciate your watching and the comment. Thank You!
On my Etrac I couldn't tell the difference between a silver quarter and a clad quarter by tone alone, sometimes, but rarely by numbers. But now that I have hearing aids, There is definitely a difference in tones. My ears could not hear the higher frequency sounds, and that is why I can tell now what I have. As a bonus, I can now hear the pretty songs of the song birds everywhere I go. So, no matter your age, if you have any hearing loss at all, think about getting a hearing test. Btw, I have been detecting since 1960, I am 74 now. Also I started with a radio Shack BFO, no numbers , no meters.
@@aliasfred I have problems with my hearing. When I first started in the Navy I was a Sonar Technician on a submarine. I have a high frequency loss. Glad to see you are still detecting! I appreciate your comment and watching! Thank you!
@@dcmdetects My hearing loss came mostly from pheasant hunting in the 70's (12 ga.) no decent hearing muffs that allowed you to hear cackling of a running bird, so no protection at all. Plus I did auto body and frame repair for 46 of those years, the first 20 years I was young and dumb, hardly any hearing protection at all.
@@aliasfred I was dumb about protecting my hearing too. Ignored protecting it when I could have.

Vdi when I started their were none back in the 1990 old Garett TR what’s souls alone
That’s right, people metal detected for years without these numbers. Too many people use it as a crutch because they do not want to put in the hours to learn how to use the metal detector. I appreciate your comment and your watching, thank you!
I’ve been detecting for only about 10 months and this video was really helpful. I am guilty of paying too much attention to the VDI numbers on my X-Terra Pro, and not paying enough attention to the tones. I appreciate the advice and will use it when I go detecting this weekend.
It's a learning process, if I had to compare it to another hobby I like - when fishing I absolutely despised using a baitcasting reel but never took the time to learn it. Now that I have practiced a lot with a baitcaster it's one of my favorites to fish with. Don't ignore the numbers because they can be a good tool, but don't base your decision to dig just on the numbers. I really appreciate your comment and watching the video, and most happy that you found it helpful, that's my goal. Thank you!
Hi I just started metal detecting and watching you.i have same detector I never got those directions? Thank you sooo much
@@osieljuts you're welcome!
Great tips re VDI. I’ve been surprised sometimes including a platinum ring find that rang up in the nickel-pull tab 25-26 range on my Legend! Agree the number is only 1 part of many variables that targets can present as. Thanks for sharing! HH
It can definitely fool you. I appreciate you watching and thanks for the comment!
All SO true! I've met frustrated beach newbies having zero luck. No-name detectors, backwards coil, unextended shaft, big garden shovel, etc... When they saw my finds bag, they were receptive to a 5-minute tutorial & demo. (no "Z" or "banana" swings - having them detect a few surface coins) They were much happier so see that their machines DO work. I hope they found some coins later.
That's great that you helped them out! The frustration can be real for sure. Yes, hopefully, they found something after you helped them. I appreciate you watching, thanks!
Hi does the transmitter have to be low latency as well or only the headset?
They both should be low latency.
