Definitely need to totally take the umpire out of the ball and strike calling all together. This challenge rule is great but let’s skip one step to make it better. Don’t have umpires calling them in the first place. Just let the AI do it. They are using it in challenges so why can’t they just use it during the whole game. The umpires union shouldn’t have any problems with it. They are not getting rid of the home plate umpire position. They can still do the rest of their duties. But this needs to be dealt with.

I knew the WBC was its own profit center for the Marlins. It must be to assess impact such disparate events. Do we think Samson is untruthful about the net money to the Marlins? If so, ok. If not, perhaps fans will understand the reality of the team's financial position (for those that think Sherman is somehow a mini Frank McCourt). I'm not a big fan of this automation however given the stakes on the line in winning just 1 game in MLB this or some version of this is definitely needed. After watching this its actually fun to see what happens but that might get tiring if people are constantly doing it on obvious calls so 3 times a game sounds good to me.

this is definitely great to see, but what the fuck is that virtual strike zone? homies are 6 foot 3 and the strike zone is literally a small box. i think we need to focus on defining the strike zone for each batter more accurately and implementing that into the computer algorithm

My hats off the to Marlins as a Padres fan--that series was probably the best of the year thanks to the fight from both teams.

As someone who is a Lifelong Marlins fan, the team needs to be sold to a competent owner who is willing to open up the check book and spend money to win ball games. The Marlins have the Lowest payroll on the MLB at 14-15 Million and the Marlins Majority Owner is the 2nd “poorest” owner in the league at 500 million respectively only ahead of the Reds owner. This in itself smells like a recipe for failure and IS a recipe for disaster. Not to mention the times they blew up the team after EACH WS wins and the sell off of Yelich, JT, Miggy, Stanton, Ozuna, Jazz wtc the list goes on forever lol. Crazy how someone who has gone to countless Marlins games and its not even at 30% percent capacity on a Friday night. Yet, WBC rolls around which ive attended multiple games as well and every single game i attended was sold out. Crazy how when there is competitive ball being played the fans will show up. Im not saying that what the Marlins are doing which is building through the farm system is not a successful strategy but when you trade for and or grow prospects and later on just completely dump them for nothing but a bag of chips and a pat on the back, it’s super counterproductive and as a fan frustrating seeing this team as a laughing stock/Farm System for the MLB.

Schumaker's tagline quote speaks for us all. It was a wild and crazy series. Kudos to the Marlins for the resiliency against a superior and hot Padres team. The Marlins could have easily won two of the games. The standout performance from Eddy Cabrera is really important. Kudos also the Schumaker for allowing Cabrera and Meyer to extend (finally) - better late than never.

What a wild series this weekend. Proud of the Marlins' resiliency against the confident, hot Padres. I find it easy to root for them, not only with the ex-Marlins, but also another option to beat the Dodgers.
