Graham, i am having an issue where the heads just start getting bigger and bigger when you are getting more than half way down the corny keg. Have you had this before? Im set up just like yours and force carb just like your video. Have tried different brews (all stouts) but they ended up massive heads towards the lower half of the keg, first half is perfect.
I take it you have your keg in a kegerator if this is happening? You need to lower your psi down to about 30/32 . For now disconnect the gas post and release the gas in the head space . Then rock the keg back and fort stand up and release the gas again . Then try pulling a pint if it’s good you can connect the gas back to the post if it’s still to big repeat the shake and release. The cause of this is the cooler the stout the more carbonated it gets at the higher psi . Let me no if this works cheers
@grahamlawlorshomebrewrevie8227 no mate I am using an under shalf cooler so it takes the beer out of the keg and in to the cooler straight to the tap. The temperature of the room doesn't seem to affect as it was happening in summer and now when we are near in to winter. Do you think it could be im cooling the beer too cold?
No I dont think so . It’s what’s happening in the keg if you try what I suggested with the burping and lowering the psi it will hopefully sort it .
@@grahamlawlorshomebrewrevie8227 cheers mate will do!
guinness pourer? can i have a link to this machine?
No mate it’s just a Guinness tap and nitro setup. Not a machine
Looking forward to the results verdict video Graham. Like the idea of the porridge oats. You might get a milk stout but at least you could have it for breakfast 😅 Keep up the good vids. Dan
Cheers Dan I have it cold crashing at the moment. I was meant to post that video last weekend but forgot 😂 looking forward to it now myself. Fingers crossed it a good one cheers 🍻 looking forward to some new videos from yourself
Hi I see David heath has on his last video on RUclips what he says is the closest to draught Guiness. Thought you might be interested.
I seen that video Mike but it didn’t look like it on tap someone else send me the link . The head looks brown and served with straight C02 so probably more like Guinness original ( fizzy stout ) but I do like the way he presents his videos very well done and I think I will give his recipe a go after this one see what it’s like on nitro/co2 mix and give it a review on my channel. He definitely nos what he is talking about very informative and easy to listen to . Cheers 🍻
@@grahamlawlorshomebrewrevie8227 Yes I thought that it might be normsl bottled Guiness but he compares it to draught canned. Which is also different to draught. Look forward to you giving it a go.

Hi mate. New to brewing. Find your channel so refreshing (excuse the pun). Straightforward explanations and honest reviews. Can I ask what sterilising solution you use in your spray bottle and does it last a while without going off? Keep up the good work. Cheers. 🍺
Alright mate delighted you’re enjoying my channel. I like to be honest with my reviews because no point in pretending something is good if it’s not . I use Chemsan in my bottle I have never had an issue with it going g off 10ml does 5 litres so good value. I make it in a 5 ltr water bottle and the fill my spray bottle from it . Cheers 🍻

What psi do you pour at Graham?
Sorry Kevin thought I replied I serve at 32psi when from my kegerator
Hi Mate, nice review. I'm in Sth Australia, home of Coopers. With the Inn keepers daughter it's probably one that's better to bottle as the Commercial version of that beer is a bottle conditioned ale anyway. Cheers.
Cheers mate I must try get it and try a bottle 🍻
You always get such good cascading. I use a stout tap which is ok. Do you think the Guiness tap makes a difference. My beer line is about 6 feet 3/16. This is because I used it for CO2 so I didn’t get frothing. Do you think if I shortened my bed line it might be better. I use 70:30 beergas. Thanks
Alright mate no I dont think it’s got to do with the tap as sometimes I have stout nozzles on beers taps when I have a few stouts going . My line is the same as yours actually. Is it an all grain or a kit you’re using ?? I find kits settle faster but I always get the nice cascading. I only buy 18ltrs into my corni kegs now to allow more space when force carbonating. Works a treat
@@grahamlawlorshomebrewrevie8227 yes I’ve took your advice before in less beer in corny and turn on its side. Cheers

Im an Ag brewer but time is against me and I fancy getting a few kegs of stout on 70/30 bashed out for the fortnight of sundays we call Christmas and new year.. Did you use the Kit yeast or did you substitute it with something else? How much extra dark spraymalt did you use ?
Alright mate you will bash that out in no time . 1 kg of the Spraymalt and you can use the yeast but if you can be better to use a pack of us05 great yeast . Cheers
Great video lad...pint looks savage 🙂

WoW.. That looks awesome... Fair play to you 🎉

Hope the new build goes well Graham, bit envious I am. I have a question for you mate when you have time, maybe some photo's if you can fella too. I know you use Beer Gas mix for your Stouts & Guinness's, do you also use CO2 for the IPA's and other beers Graham as well, can you please educate me how you do or use both gases in your bar. Do you have one regulator and you switch over to use the right gas for the beer to pour or do you have two regulators Graham, one for CO2 and one for Nitrogen & CO2 mix, so two totally seperate gas systems.. does this all make sense my friend All the best, John 🍻 🍻
Alright John . I have 2 regs one is a co2 regulator and the other is a mixed gas regulator. So I have 2 separate gas lines that I have T on so I have 2 co2 connections and 2 mixed gas connections so I can have 2 stouts on tap and a beer and an ipa or whatever I have brewed at the time . Hope that helps new bar is complete and delighted with it thanks . Cheers pal 🍻

Hiya Graham, Love the channel fella, especially the Guinness ones. Have a question for you Graham, I know your busy but if you have the time would love your comments or perhaps a short video. Excuse the long message mate, I am just starting out with the All Grain Home Brewing and just about all setup, my question is about bottling Guinness clones or it possible or worth it as generally you would pour direct from the Keg. I current have a CO2 setup, the regulator will take the Mix Gas so I just need to get an adapter for the regulator and a mixed gas bottle, I know you pour direct from the Keg with the Nitro/CO2 mix and its a pleasure watching this but is it possible to bottle from the Keg. From my limited knowledge so far, the CO2 will carbonate the Guinness and the Nitro will give you the Cascaded Affect in the glass. Based on this Graham have you tried on bottling from keg since its already carbonated with the Nitro/CO2 mix. Hope you have the time to reply fella, all the best John
Alright John, glad you’re enjoying my channel. No problem with the long questions. I always like to help fellow Brewers . I do bottle straight from the keg. I have a video there Showing how you do it. I’ll put a link in it. But it more for beers and Ips, I haven’t bottled any of my stouts from a keg as you need your cream or nozzle for the lovely creamy head as well as the nitrogen . I will also try do a bottle from a stout keg this evening and see how it works out and if it’s good I will do a video and post it for you . Cheers 🍻

@@grahamlawlorshomebrewrevie8227 Thanks Graham, hope this turns out and so looking forward to the video mate. Thanks for your time doing this as well Graham, appreciate. Be interesting to see after its bottled how does it pour out into the glass also has this Stout just only been carbonated on CO2 only mate. Take care fella 🍻
@@grahamlawlorshomebrewrevie8227 Sorry for all questions mate, I know you use Mixed Gas, what size liter bottle do you use and how many kegs can you get from one, that be using for carbonation & serving Graham
Love your attention to detail and your honesty. They rarely take the time as advertised, but longer is always better in my view. Great video.
Cheers mate honesty is best policy
Hi Graham, can I ask, on one of your vids when you were force carbing with your nitro mix, I got the impression that you don't have a regulator valve on your tank as the pressure is fixed? Is that correct or am I reading you wrong? If you do have a regulator, what pressure do you force carbonate and serve your stouts? Cheers.
Sorry thought I had replied all ready . Yes I have a mixed gas regulator and it’s set at 40psi when I add gas to force carbonate. Cheers 🍻
Hey Graham, I've seen you force carbonate your kegs before by rolling them under a higher pressure, I have tried that and ended up with beer going up my gas line. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Hi Keven over time I figured out the best way to force carbonate is only put 18 L of stout into the keg so leaving a nice bit of headspace then connect the gas purge three or four times then disconnect the gas and shake the life out of it for about a minute and a half let it rest for 15 minutes Try a point with the gas back connected if it’s not carb enough repeat the process I don’t leave the line on anymore as I ran into the same issue with stout coming back out because the pressure build up in the keg higher than the reg . Hope that helps cheers 🍻
That home bar looks bloody mint! Spot on content as usual 😊
Cheers thanks 🍻
Another great vid Graham...can i pick your brains about a few things? I dont have a nitro set up but will go down that route to achieve a good stout pour like yours. 1. What nitro mix do you use to serve and at what pressure? 2. Do you pressure ferment or do you carbonate with co2? Surely you dont force carbonate with a nitro mix? Can't seem to find these answers clearly anywhere! Cheers and keep up the brewing vids.
Alright Mick yes I use 70/30 nitro CO2 mix . I forced carbonate with the 70/30 gas at 40 psi. I have a video there and shown how I do it and the comments in the video stell which changes I’ve made in comparison to the video . I actually only posted a comment today And I serve the 32 psi with the 70/30 gas mix to help chairs hope that helps.
I made the late David Line's Goodness Stout recipe many yaers ago and put it in a pressure barrel. The beer thus produced could have been preferred by a draught Guinnes drinker to the original: it was grainier but did not have the same smoothness or head.
I think any brew on nitro/co2 mix will taste much nicer . I must look up the recipe see what it’s like cheers 🍻
😂😂😂 Shit I forgot to do a review video😂😂😂 Love it Graham...😅 The bar looks amazing. Well done👏👏👏 I Once I'm fully sorted I'm determined to get a 70/30 mix gas and try a coopers stout. Take it easy. Dan

Brewed this up added lactic acid and all, after a month it's absolutely lovely on 75/25 gas
I couldn’t agree more fantastic pint
Just Kegged this kit other day. Believe I have done this before but fews years back now. Looks spot on the one you have poured. Sat chilling in my fridge for 2 nights then have 70/30 mix put in to 30 psi will leave for a month then try. Don't really like force carbing unless i really need to. Find the final flavor not as good.
So pal how did it turn out for you
Hey Graham ... I've watched your videos regarding carbonation but can you let me know how you are set up in terms of beer lines. I've got a Keezer and am using 3m 3/16th beer line ... my dry Irish Stouts are 'set and forget" on 30/70 at around 35PSI / 6c temp. It pours fine and gets a decent head but very little of the cascading (the current stout has been in the keezer for several weeks so in theory plenty long enough for carbonation to complete). The pour is also very slow which might be a factor ... perhaps the length is impacting the nitro somehow. I use a stout spout on the tap. I've found line length calculators for Co2 (I have 4 taps each with their own secondary regulator so I can set PSI as required for the beer style) but not for 30/70. How is yours set up as the pour is way way better than mine and I really want to recreate that. Cheers!
Sorry mate I thought I replied my stout line is 9.5mm and it’s 6 ft long are you using a creamer nozzle ? And what psi are you serving with ? Is it an all grain or a kit ? I find the kit pints seem to settle faster for some reason . If in a kegerator 32 psi should be plenty for a stout and it shouldn’t pull slowly under that pressure. I don’t think the length is an issue to be honest some bars the lines are very long .
@@grahamlawlorshomebrewrevie8227 Cheers fella, really appreciate the info. I think you've replied to a different comment I posted on another video so all good! I'm using a creamer nozzle and a few weeks after posting my initial comment it's definitely got much better cascading so I think more carbonation was needed. That's a good learn. Your beer line is much larger than mine (3/8th for you versus my 3/16th ... will try the larger line to see if that changes things for the better. Have you spotted this from David Heath for his best Guinness clone yet (you've been mentioned by a few members so am sure you've spotted it .... 5.6% though, not so excited by that!) ruclips.net/video/SF9WS_v73uk/видео.html Love the channel, keep at it ... all the best!
@billybungle1757 cheers pal no I had not seen it but I had a look there . To be honest his stout didn’t look anything like a Guinness and was straight co2 so not for me . He explained the process really well but I dont think it looked nice no creamy head and probably gassy and to high % and much darker head . Very popular channel he has plenty of subscribers. I must have a look at some of his other videos when I get a chance
Thanks a lot Graham. Now I'm thirsty. 😅😅😅 Cheers from the 🇺🇸 my friend.
😂😂 cheers 🍻
Ditto. Guinness is not Guinness here. Closest you can get is an Irish pub in a major city where it’s flowin through the lines nonstop. The only other choice is to make yer own.
Hi Graham (and those who have brewed this) .... can I check a couple of points before I order the ingredients: Do I wait for the wort to hit 74c before adding the dark malts then mash for 10 mins ... or add at 69c and ramp up to 74c and hold for 10 mins? Is there not a risk of extracting harsh tannins at a temp as high as 74c? I use Brewfather to build my brews and also RO water ... I'm unclear on what the impact will be of lower the pH based on the full grain bill but to then only add the Maris Otter/ oats / wheat for 50 mins ... the lactic acid adjustment would have been worked out based on the full grain bill going in at the start I believe ... have you come up against that challenge? Cheers!
Hi Billy . As the temperature starts to rise i added the Dark grain and when it hit 74 I let sit for 10mins that it had no issue just a fantastic pint cheers 🍻
