    Nice video. I am not sure if you attempted to clean the cell with diluted muriatic acid prior to replacing. Internal plates can get coated with calcium and minerals, and then cells does not work properly. With zero current flow, probably was a bad cell as you concluded but cleaning is always a good first step given the ridiculously high price of these things. Cheers

      Yes cleaned it several times before replacing it. The pool people said that 7 years is a long life for one so I guess I got the good out of it.

      I did not by OEM as they were way more than these aftermarket and figured I could change them out several times if needed before I would come to the cost of OEM. It is tight getting to the bolts and I have had to replace one of the shocks again this year already. Maybe worth paying the extra but only one failed so will see if over time it turned out to be wise choice. I pulled the tire off the last time and found it a bit easier to get to the bolts.

    Thanks, what exactly did you do to adjust the L, H, or idle screws?

    • @DougLearn
      @DougLearn 27 дней назад

      Most of the time If I think someone has messed with them I take them all the way in and back them out about 1.5 turns and that gets most of the units to start. From there it is just listening to the machine on the top end and make sure it sounds like it is running wide open. On the bottom I adjust the low so that when I pull the trigger it ramps up fast and then adjust the idle to the lowest smooth running I can. I know there are more precise ways to probably do it but I go by sound and performance. Hope that helps

    Wait... the original subfloor is all particle board? Sounds like a bad choice to me. The things mobile home manufacturers will do to save a few bucks... The replacement subfloor is much better quality than the original, other than being patched together in smaller pieces.

    • @DougLearn
      @DougLearn Месяц назад

      Yes a good majority of mobile homes have particle board floors in the older homes. I have replaced and repaired many of them and it is not a fun job. If it gets a bit of moisture now it will hold up much better but still don't want a small leak to be ignored.

    Thank your for the update on the corvair! From what I have found in my research the passenger side closet didn't originally exist in these camper kits. The wooden board below the mattress was longer and supported itself on the passenger side wheel well. There seems to be big variations between the all of them since they are an dealer installed option. The kits were only installed in Greenbriers (Window-van) and didn't have any wood panelling behind the furniture. They just used curtains instead. These mirrors are original! The best reference pictures I have found is a dark green 64 Corvair Greenbrier on Bring a Trailer. It was sold twice, 2020 and in 2023 and has great reference pictures.

    Your standing in front of the part I’m struggling with. I’m new to woodworking. I finally experienced my first busted bandsaw blade. You have the same one I do. C I’m trying to change from the blade that came with it to a 131 1/2 long by 1” wide I feel like I’m getting the teeth stuck in the table hole as I’m trying to figure out how to bring it around (part your standing in front of).

    • @DougLearn
      @DougLearn Месяц назад

      Yea I wish I was able to have a camera man that would help a lot when doing these videos. The blade just takes a little wiggle around and you should get it. The more times you do it the easier it becomes. I hope the rest was helpful.

    • @loranutritionist
      @loranutritionist Месяц назад

      So update since my first post… may be a great future video for you as I didn’t really find a lot of videos on blade changing especially for this brand/model. So wiggle doesn’t work… doors come off by lifting them up out of their hinge holes. Next concept to illustrate for others is even with the wheel tightening bar in the loose position, you may still need to lower the wheel by twisting the wheel underneath the top of the machine above the table. Then discuss the what needs to be done based on the width of the blades. This machine says it’ll take an 1/8th to 1 inch blade. The blade I was working on is 1 inch therefore, if you attempt to do what the other say,what Snodgrass teaches (put the gully of the blade on the Center of the wheel) you’re gonna realize adjustments to the guide thing under the table need to be done to get the blade to fit in its designated space. And the show how the blade just goes where it wants to go and wont stay centered on the wheel, like Snodgrass teaches. Then show what screw/knob does what to get the blade to fit in the blade guards under the table. Figuring out which screw or knob does the desired effect is a good discussion. Then talk about how to problem solve when it still makes a scraping noise and possible places to check. This is where I gave up. I’m still stuck. I think it’s really important for a new person to learn about all the problem solving to blade changes…which I got the impression is why you did the video.

    We have old wood framed screen panels that fit in sections of our breezeway, including the two doors. One door panel got ripped. After removing the trim pieces I saw there were no nails or staples underneath holding the screen in. Instead the edge of the screen is pressed into a groove and because the screen is metal (ours is actually copper I believe) the friction seemed to hold it in, and also probably added some tension to the screen. I couldn’t tell on the video, but I wonder if the one you worked on was similar.

    • @DougLearn
      @DougLearn Месяц назад

      I have worked on doors like the one you are explaining but the one I showed was just flat. Some with the grove use a spline to hold the screen tight and then cover it with the wood trim to hide it.

    just some things to take into account if you're still using this and haven't caught on, the wheel is super out of round plus not true to the bar. I hope you invested in a Tormek truing jig for the stone. if I was you I would have sent this back and either got a replacement or a refund. your bar doesn't even look straight. was considering buying one of these instead of a jet or Tormek, but I think I might just say screw it and get the Tormek and not have to deal with all these issues seen in this video. there is no way your blades are even remotely square.

    • @DougLearn
      @DougLearn 2 месяца назад

      I did contact Grizzly and they were very happy to help me out with proper parts to fix the wheel and help me get a good smooth stone rotation. The company does a good job of helping with issues like this I have found out. It is not a Tormek but It was was more affordable for me and is doing a good job on what I need now that it is tuned up
