Wonderful prophetic painting! I'm wondering how this painting has held up over the years. You used a ridged medium (joint compound) on a flexible stretched canvas. Has any of the joint compound cracked or lifted off. Also, did you varnish this work?

Artists like you can use a light white light medium Gell. Very good on practicing on contemporary art with crayons. Eventually you can start using your own patterns and techniques. Your colors are very important in this painting. You will notice you will be using a lot of red bases colors for the sky. For instant softer toned yellows orange and reds. Your softer purples for the water was a great choice to bring symmetry between the sky and the water. I enjoyed your videos and ideas. Also, you can do this with paints. What makes this unique is the crayons and how you found ways to not melt them directly on to the canvas. If you wanted a darker sunset on the canvas. You use darker colors for a more stormy affect on the sunrise with your own storm patterns in your horizon. Also you could use a dark background color as a base like black than add white and grays Blues in a lighter effect for a night stormy sky. As your water remains more of a darker based purples. Thanks for your video.

Hi. It turned out beautifully. You could save some time and not wash them. The oven kills any undesirables. I make soap and candles, so I got my pine cones ready a couple of months. Ago. I have just been decorating my packaging and glasses with them. They still look freshly picked. Also, you can buy glitter spray in a can. It is a clear lacquer with glitter. You get the same result with little effort. You can add extra glitter with cinnamon while lacquer is still wet and it sticks perfectly. I hope you don't mind me telling you. By no means is yours lacking at all. It's purely time saving advice:)

Is this permanent or do you need to seal it and can this be done let's say on to metal surfaces?

I really did like the idea. the only suggestion I would make is next time do a double boiler method to melt the oil and crayons because the way you used the measuring cup basically is heating the material as if it was straight in the pan. :-)
