Always protect your face from flying debris and never crouch down with your face behind the seat in front of you. That’s the perfect way to get knocked out.
I just have to make another comment about this video as well, after i been scrolling through all diff. comments on this video. Leatherman did not just puts together these tools on a whim? This has been created with purpose and dedicated to professional medics, firefighters and other professional specialist occupations. This has been developed by top level engineers over time, and carefully thought out in every possible way. And making claims that cheap copies are just as good and can do the same job is just nonsense. Problably useful for you amateur use at home somehow, but at length for professional emergency personnel and military conditions NOT. Leatherman Raptor Rescue is made for to have a excellent quality and area of use for all environment and endurance in Professional occupations. Greetings, a happy owner of the original Leatherman Raptor Rescue.
Im a newer EMT. We were told the 2-3 inches above the wound in class for tourniquettes, but my FTO training me at my job told me to put it towards the top of the arm. Can anyone with more experience elaborate. I mean, this dude does swat and stuff and has 14 years experiance, and I do know that with a lot of jobs, there's the book way, and then there's the real life way. Im not questioning the logic, justbwindering if someone more experianced has some imput on it
X-Shears are worth carrying as a single purpose tool. They cut through ANYTHING and don't fatigue your hands when you've got a badass job like cutting someone out of turnouts and SCBA harnesses. I have $400 worth of them and drill some of the handles for a tiny split ring to attach to a Keyback 48 Plus retractor. I'll carry X-Shears before a fancy pocket knife or any other EDC tool on my own personal time.
Getting head under the table
Ik its late but what light do you have on your belt?
I'll bite. What did this prove? That it's not a tow strap?
I have a set of X Shears, and they are the best. I wish they incorporate an oxygen wrench in their version 2 at some point.
Dude! Why aren’t they putting dual reservoir tubes up to the front. One your you and a skinner one for the little man? Now that would be genius!
Can’t hear you over the sh!t music
My raptors are amazing it’s the gold standard imo
X-Shears for me. They will go through anything but dony buy the buy their expensive rigid holster. Bulky and impractical.
Love that you tried cutting the thick end with fakes and thin strap with real ones…super objective
Where is the SOG shears? So much better then most of these.
I dont know where you got your fake ones, mine cut through everything you tested on, no issues what so ever............AND.... ..they dont rust!!!!!!! Oh, and i heard, leatherman warranty doesnt cover rust.
Is this sped up? This feels uncomfortable to watch
This technique doesn't seem very ergonomic, and it increases the risk of cutting unintended material.
Got copies and they work fine , there are some different ones out there ,mine cut absolutely fine through webbing and leather , the ring cutter cuts great , and a perfect price for a under paid HCA 😂
You are not honest. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
1- lo cierras al propósito presionando el seguro 2- no trates de engañarnos 3- las fake son la misma calidad 4- tú hiciste que falle 5- sabemos de cinemática y vemos tus dedos
Si me di cuenta
Where did you get the little first aid pouch on the end? Thanks
I’ve picked up a RapidStop one myself, noticed USA have created X8T Tourniquet, it’s self tightening like the ratchet system only it’s a turn knob where the tightening handle would be.
There function is to cut clothes and rings and belt loops
Turnn down the music, audio is not great. Good info marred by trying to listen in a loud club, makes this video frustrating.
What a cute baby ! And thanks for the video I love it, I have an exam next Monday so wish me luck
Gotta say, cheap isn't always nasty. I got a two-pack of generic Chinesium shears off Amazon for around 13 pound (one pair for an FAK, one for around the house). I've used the 'house' ones to open clamshell packaging, cut fabric, coax cable, paracord, carpet, and god knows what else, and they have never let me down. Even the black coating hasn't worn off! Don't know if I just got lucky, but it's the best value £6.50 I've ever spent.
Why everyone freeze
Best videos!! quick and to the point! keep it up please :)
I guess you just got a bad one. I paid $23 for my fake one and a real Leatherman is $100. The RSSK version I got seems just as good and the real Leatherman. Your video caused me to test mine on cutting a coin in half. I only cut a penny because I did not have a nickel to cut. ruclips.net/video/k6wmLYkBkXU/видео.html
Awesome video. RapidStop all the way
Hi, where can I find the scabbard for the response?
I’m not sure they have holsters for that currently! MyMedEquip have the standard Leatherman holster for the Rescues.
Very helpful thanks keep up
Fair would have been ordering a new fake set. They are both the same product.
The video is a bit chaotic. Jumping between testing and promo's, then back to testing, then back to a previous shear. Thankfully the conclusion was clear.
Marvellous feedback thanks mate!
But why didnt you test on coin with fake?
They failed on softer materials so it’s a redundant test!
Waiting for my XShear order!😊
Awesome legend! You won’t be disappointed!! 🙌
Awesome channel!
Thanks legend. I appreciate it!
After getting tired of using the freebies I usually use I bought myself a set of Xshears. Even just the way they feel in the hand is so much better than anything else I've used. I was considering a set of raptors but I already carry a Skeletool Rx that I got as a gift so there wasn't any point in something over double the price
Yea mate I totally agree! XShears kill the raptors. I have both and only ever use the raptors for said multitools (which you can get elsewhere individually cheaper) 🙌
Keen!
Yes legend live now on other platforms!
The winner x shears
I totally agree! They’re fantastic for their price point and simplicity.
Thank you for this video. Went through active shooter response training through my law enforcement agency and they have a second class for medical response incase paramedics aren’t cleared. That class isn’t for a few months though so I’ve been watching videos on learning how and when to apply proper medical aid. I appreciate your video
Mate thank you so much for leaving that comment! I really appreciate the feedback and I’m glad you’ve found it useful. Let’s hope you won’t have to apply the knowledge irl.
@@studentparamedics 🤙🏼🤙🏼 hope for the best but prepare for the worst. Stay safe man. I’ll be watching your vids for a while to come.
Thanks legend!!!
Yes sir! Thanks legend 🙏 I appreciate that! It’s been quite quiet on this end due to life but hope increase content soon!
@@studentparamedics no worries brother. Quiet is good in this line of work haha
The faulty lock makes zero difference to how the scissors should cut as it comes loose in the opposite direction of the pressure you need to cut. It looks like yer trying to make it look bad.
It comes loose in the direction required to cut Randy… that’s demonstrated in the video.
@@studentparamedics it folds the other way around, no need to pretend
@@norbert7297 the locking mechanism is needed to keep the handles from sliding past one another before making a complete cut. The mechanism is faulty so he can’t properly use the handles.
If it comes loose in the opposite direction, it means you can't open the shears normally, and instead you need to manually pull open the blades. Opening the blades is part of the cutting operation in shears/scissors, dummy.
Just because the holster comes with the product, doesn't make it free. You're definitely paying for it.
Agreed!
The cheaper sears probably use cheaper and softer metal so it will be dull quicker
I’ve heard of little rust spots appearing in the fakes. There’s no reliable QC for longevity here as the manufacturers are not interested in brand reputation.
@@studentparamedicsrust can also appear on the most expensive sears or knives if they use carbon steel but the type of metal really makes a difference in the longevity of the blade, they can both be sharp but the softer metal will be dull rather quickly such as a cheap knife, I’m interested in the Raptor but I’m not a paramedic, more into hiking and such
This one uses 420HC stainless steel btw “Leatherman multitools primarily makes use of three different steels for their blades: S30V, CM154 and 420HC. 420HC STAINLESS STEEL: An improved, high-carbon (HC) form of 420 stainless steel that works well with high production tooling. 420HC's strength is optimized in Leatherman multitools by heat treatment.” So its carbon steel, which is very hard and retains its shape, unlike cheaper sears or knives
so THERE IS A LOOP ?
So you showed your lunch bag... 😉
I liked your video, quite informative. Would you please advise the brand name and model of the Pocket Fetal Doppler you used (and where you purchased it?). Thank you.
I’m not sure sorry!! It’s packed away currently as we’re moving house and it was donated to us for a mission trip :/ we’ll try to remember once we unpack!
@@studentparamedics. Thank you for the quick reply, appreciated. I'll wait a few weeks to see if you get back to me, no problems. In the meantime I'll look around for reviews of the different units in the market. I noticed your unit was called a "Fetal" (US spelling) Doppler and not a "Foetal" (British/Aus spelling) so maybe it's a US brand. Good luck with the house move.
Our pleasure! We have AU & UK backgrounds and are based in AU.
Hilarious!! 🤣
They seem like a con. It's just a crepe bandage with a bit of trauma gauze or haemo gauze, better to buy many of those things and make your own and tape, instead of the clip that's fiddly and will break
I’d say something more like a conforming bandage and a combine dressing - I’m not very keen on securing gauze onto a wound as a topical dressing. Benefits I see in this particular dressing are: 1. Crepe bandages don’t have a pressure applicator. 2. There are no clips and I’ve never seen one break.
No way. Pressure bandages are one of the gold standards of EMT/Medic gear. Many uses, durable, and can act like a windless in certain situations.
That's so bad!! 😖😱
Yet another reason why soft collars are superior!
