FLING KING TIRES TESTED on the LASERNUT
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.2 года назад
After a little trouble installing my new J Concepts Fling King 2.6" tires on my Losi Lasernut I finally got to test them out. They are perfect for running in sand and were absolutely shredding out there. music by: caspromusic.bandcamp.com/album/making-waves?token=EC-4BN170592E7985901

WALL R/C "KEEP ON TRUCKN'" SHORT VIDEO - RC MUSTSEE
This guy doesnt have the slightest amount of steering control. Letting of the wheel every second and letting it bounce into center sounds terrible.
this was the very first kit i ever built and i had just gotten into the hobby. i can assure you that that does not happen anymore. thanks for noticing.
Fantastic job. Your videos are quite motivational. Awesome U4 and location.
Thank you for the kind words!
Sorry to see you broke something so fast on the U4. I've been quite lucky so far and haven't broken anything but a front bumper. I sure like the awesome footage of the MAXX.
@@RCRoads overall it’s a fantastic car. A few weak spots that need to be dealt with but when it’s running i don’t think there is a better performing u4 rig on the market today. Check out the rest of my lasernut vids. Thank you for appreciating the slow-mo maxx footage!
@@rcmustsee437 For sure! I try to run my cars until something major breaks. I get worried about the diffs blowing out like everyone claims. So far I think 3s is probably the best choice. Very enjoyable RC to drive. When we make video's we want them to be all rad and exciting but then we push our rigs too hard and they break.
Which you think would be more efficient, 12T/33T or 13T/33T front overdrive?
Very nice setup. Thanks for filming the install as it helps me see how stuff fits together. Vitivon parts are the best. Kind of expensive for some but the parts you went with are really the most important. Anyways I'm just a Lasernut enthusiasts right now and just love mine even in stock form but slowly as it breaks I'll probably do some Vitivon upgrades. They even have some beadlocks rims designed for the U4 and they look tempting as well.
Do you know if I can race my rc rustler 2wd vxl in any rc race.
Bummer about the short axels. I'm ending up with lots of tires that don't fit any of my cars. It's food to know that the axels are short and it will be a problem. I have the same issue with the Redcat Everest 10. Short axels are a PITA. I might go with some 17mm adaptors and see if I can match up some tires that way. Proline Trenchers mount up ok on my lasernut but I'm looking for something taller like the stock ones.
They make the hyrax specifically for this truck. I have them and they rip. They will fit the stock wheels or vitavon has some a awesome beadlocks.
@@rcmustsee437 Thanks buddy. That really helps. Enjoy you fun with this awesome setup. 🏆👍
Those front tires really dig in and pull that Nut through the turns😮
they sure do! pretty fun in the right conditions. thanks for watching 👍
How have they held up
i sold this truck to my buddy years ago. but he still uses the slash and all the dogbones are still in great shape- highly recommended.
Cool
Are your diffs locked in this video
No. 500k center and i think 50 f/r. The beauty of the lasernut is the fact that you can adjust them- which is important for rock racing. Not the best for crawling off that’s your goal. I would build an independent front/ solid axle rear rig for more hardcore 4x4 action!
@rcmustsee437 yea I Have the yeti and ryft but I got smoke by a guy at a hill climb with a losi the all around independent helped him alot my yeti is sick has tekin mamba x sensored system it rocks but I want a independent front and back rig. steering sucks on yeti I'm sure it's not much better on this but we will see
the steering is great @@Tuidkskiwjdhdbd but you have to buy an upgraded steering rack right out of the box mine broke in 10 minutes. throw 500k - 1M k. in all 3 diffs you will have a mean machine.
I just ordered one my plan is sensored system and lock all the diffs for hull climbs only any maybe trail crawls with other crawlers like at beat the creek a big rc event I go to I just wanted to know if you can think of any problems I'm going to have I love my ryft and yeti but I think this could be really special
Dope video! What compound and what wheels are you running with these Flings
Thanks for watching, they were the softer compound they offered and the wheels were proline i forget the name but they are made for the fling kings and come with 3 different hub with options
After running it, do you still think u should have went with the harder compound
@@chromemondo not sure but overall the soft work very well.
Where’s nitro?
No nitro at this event.
It's a pretty cool car, I have the black one. It's been great over the years. Completely stock, besides a slightly bigger pinion gear. Haven't had any issues with it. I do wish I could find a replacement body and tires tho. Mine is starting to crack and is riding on slicks now. 👍👍
Nice run. I just sold 2 old crawlers and got a used RTR Rock Rey last week. Haven't had time yet to thoroughly test it out. Can't wait 👍👍
i think its a cool truck but i let it go a while back. too annoying to work on and unfortunately it doesn't perform very well. get a Losi Lasernut!!
@@rcmustsee437 I really enjoyed thrashing my Baja Rey for the last couple years. I already have a bunch of spare parts laying around. My Baja Rey is about done, hanging in the garage now as a trophy. I mainly wanted something as direct competition for my Yeti.
I just broke my Lasernut exactly the same way on a cold day. I noticed that the arm that broke makes contact with the corner of the servo at a full right turn. I'm gonna set the steering end points a degree or two short of full lock. I think the cold may have contributed to the plastic being more brittle. On a hot day it may have bent instead of snapping.
It’s a weak point in the steering, that’s for sure. The plastic part is just a bit too weak for what the truck and big tires demand, especially if you put a better servo in like i did. Thanks for watching!
Hey man I want to tell you that you are a great influencer for traxxes
Thanks?
Can the under-drive for the rear also fit the front axle? I'd like to under-drive front & rear both. Lower drive train ratio with slightly higher spur gear ratio would improve smoothness in my theory lol. Plus it would reduce stress on the transmission, drive shafts to the trans, motor, and esc.
Yes i believe they are interchangeable
I been there
Thanks for the video! Featuring it in today's one.
When decending down a hill you got to be careful while having the upgrade you will have your rigs front end pulled over front right underneath you causing you to indo into a front flip. Also when side trailing it will hard cause the rig will want to pull to the side making it hard to keep a straight line. Overall pretty good upgrade
Good job dude keep it up
Yoo thats crazy that Scotty is still around. I used to go up to the shop he used to own called trackside in Milwaukee, WI all the time as a kid. When I would break parts and stuff he would look out for me alot. He made my Rc experience one of a kind, im glad to see hes still in the RC space.
I love it grown men playing with toy trucks....I wanna play
Need those shims.....
Came to your channel again now that I’m back into the rc car hobby. Pulled out my jlb cheetah after 4 years of it sitting in my closet (accidentally sunk it in salt water at the beach which obviously messed it up), but I just got it running a couple days ago! Keep making vids man!
what did you use for the mesh over the esc?
some scale mesh i bought on amazon i think
Wait, you didnt use any shims in the rear??? mine feels like it has a bunch of backlash if i dont use a buttload of shims.
Julian I found you on yt lol
I wish my local hobby town had stock of this amplitude, they hardly ever have a matching set of tires, or popular rc vehicles in stock.. smh
Thanks for the effort champ… I appreciate it as I’m trying to get into rc 1/8 racing and trying to get as much info as possible through the net… will vist the track as soon as I have a trug or bug built…
What tires worked the best on that track?
i allways loved the ss proline buckshot. buggy and truggy. if you have the skill to keep it in traction a tighter pin tire is better
Nice vid
Great vid, I've always wanted to go to Motorama, always been a bucketlister since getting back into the hobby.
if you enjoy electric its worth the trip. Thanks for watching
Amigo as engrenagens dos diferenciais dele são duráveis ?
nunca tive problemas com os diferenciais
Show the crash that broke it so we know what not to do
it wasn't a crash actually, it just broke while driving. unfortunately i didn't get it on camera. Had i had a big crash i would have understood the break.
Shame on Losi??….How bout shame on RC MUSTSEE….plastic parts do not fare well AT ALL in cold temps. Not Losi’s fault.
I have driven many rc cars much harder in colder temps then this and they did not break in 5 minutes. def cheap losi parts.
@@rcmustsee437 yeah you right... for me that was 3 full gaz on 4s (tatu 800mah 130c burst) on road then rear diff death ... didnt figure out if that was case or ... diff dont look damage maybe that need shim and bolt and nut allway down the case (m3*70) and same replacing arm rod with m4*75 bolt and nut? upgraded bearing for the diff also i saw it need...
no shame on losi.. the lasernut have many fail point... (me 3 ful gaz on 4s small drone battery an rear diff death not normal.. rated for 4s mean not broke like that... (ive do launch control with mini8 for 2 year no damage .. mini 8 good car.. lazernut good concept but out of the box not good)
What esc? Didn’t think they could run on 2s
yep. 2-4 s but 2 is laughably slow.
Way to expensive, disgraceful 😔😔 if only losi built the awesome lasernut better😔
idk about disgraceful... they are custom machined high quality parts that come from the other side of the planet! You get what you pay for. def not in everyones budget, that i understand. And I agree with you about the lasernut. a shame it lacks durability out of the box. overall its a killer vehicle tho, happy with the purchase. thanks for watching.
I know this is an older video, but for whoever watches this and is attempting this mod, there is an easier ay to deal with the steering linkage when removing the front part. Turn your wheels to the right or left (not sure which way, but you will see) then through th holes in the bottom of the chassis, you can get to the screw that attaches the linkage to the steering servo horn. Undo that srew and the linkage comes off easy when you remove the front bulkhead.
No nitro?! Booooooo!
Yea electric only at this event. I don’t miss the fumes! Thanks for watching
Thankx for the great vid
My shock mount (the gold piece) always bends if I land hard on the back. Do you know of a way to reinforce it?
unfortunatly there is no fixing that. you would either need to just buy a replacement (they are very cheap) or see if there is a machined upgrade. the one that comes on the truck is a cheap forged part.
Seen my buddy buggy racing
Great video. Finally, someone that can drive!
I’m dying to buy a Lazernut but being brand new to RC I don’t have the confidence I can do the pre-first run check over to make sure everything was assembled correct or the needed parts replacement (although your video on the Vitavon parts install was great). Seems like a car for the more experienced. Bummer its not more reliable out of the box, especially for that price. Great to see the Baja Rey did so well though as that’s my option. The gum chewing didn’t bother me…
The only way to learn is to challenge yourself. I say go for it. Overall this buggy is really really good. Thanks for watching
Next time SIR when you're doing rc mustsee videos. we can do without the CHEWING OF THE GUM! please lol
Just for you gene, I’ll buy sone big league chew
How.much.is.the.losi.and.where.can.I.buy.one
it retails from $500- $550 and you can get it at most hobby shops or online retailers.
