Unboxing and Review of a Magnetic 5x5 under €15 - Moyu Meilong 5M
In this video we’ll be unboxing the **Moyu Meilong 5M**, a magnetic 5x5 released in 2020. Does a cube this age still hold up today? What about the price, is a budget speedcube any good?
°°°
I’m sorry about the wind noise, I reduced it as much as I could in post-production. Sadly I wasn’t able to eliminate it completely, as that would’ve turned my voice into a walking talking talking a swim in a fish bowl. The second part of the video, which was filmed at a later date, was recorded indoors for this reason. Lesson learned, won’t happen again.

My Second Cubing Competition Ever - Leuven Open 2024
Просмотров 4,1 тыс.2 месяца назад
Last April I went to a cubing competition, it was my second time competing in 3x3 (normal Rubik’s cube) and my first time in 2x2 and pyraminx. My main goals were to beat my previous times (ao5 35.78, single 33.34), and get a sub-10 average for 2x2. As you can see by these times I am not even close to podium times, but you don’t need to be extremely fast in order to go to a cubing comp. The prim...

    Me when i see roux solvers:💀💀 Istg they are just doing cfop but with only half a cross.

    • @WobblyCube
      @WobblyCube 2 месяца назад

      They are quite different though. CFOP is cross > F2L > OLL > PLL. Whereas Roux is first block > second block > orientation and permutation of the corners of the last layer (CMLL) > last six edges. In other words the order is very different. You could say the first two blocks is 2/5th of the cross and full F2L finished, however blockbuilding is still different. Building blocks is done differently than making and inserting pairs, with both more freedom in moves and in how you make the 2x3 block. Building blocks (in a roux solve) the CFOP F2L way is also very inefficient. Other blockbuilding methods it shares similarities with, more than CFOP, are Petrus and Waterman. Unlike CFOP there are no rotations and the method is heavily reliant on M and r moves. So in the end, very different approaches to solving the cube. Both interesting in their own way :)

      Ok

    • @Ashterix_Nocturnal
      @Ashterix_Nocturnal 2 месяца назад

      @@WobblyCube First and Second Block is f2l with half a cross. CMLL is OLL but only the Corners. L6E is PLL but edges only. Thats why i say that they are similar. Roux users are also former CFOP users because CFOP teaches you on how to do blockbuilding. I mean, Gillie Roux is a former cfop user. 2 Look CMLL uses JPerms and YPerms etc. Some cases of roux can be done with CFOP algs.

    • @WobblyCube
      @WobblyCube 2 месяца назад

      I did start with LBL, although the version I was taught did include some OLL and PLL algorithms already. Starting with Roux is very fun. You get a lot of freedom in how you solve the cube. As a result you get a good understanding of how the cube works and all the different ways you can things. The added freedom and lack of resources does make it a little harder to learn “the best” way of doing things. But the cubing community is great and helps each other out, so no real issue there. (I can understand your comment due to French, but can’t reply back in Spanish sorry)

      I like roux btw, much more intuitive than CFOP, less algorithms, it's easier to completely avoid rotations while building the first two blocks since you have much more freedom compared to F2L phase where you must preserve the cross as well. However 🤓☝ it's not my main method, let's say I like it but just as a friend... yeah I've just friendzoned a speedcubing method

    • @WobblyCube

      Hahaha never thought I’d hear a method get friendzoned. I researched both CFOP and Roux and tried beginner versions both before deciding which I wanted to use.
