The Great Buckeye Western railroad
США
Добавлен 16 авг 2023
The great BUCKEYE WESTERN railroad is an HO scale model railroad dream that I have had for a long time. I now have the time and space to chase that dream! I am, by no means, an expert at model railroading. I am, however, learning with the help of a few very informative RUclips channels. I plan on producing videos throughout construction to display progress and get ideas/information from the model railroad community.
Budweiser Clydesdales Respect 2002, (Never Forget!)
This is the commercial spot Budweiser produced after 9/11. They only aired it once so as not to benefit financially from it - they just wanted to acknowledge the tragic event. THANK YOU, BUDWEISER,!

My great grandfather and grandfather owned shires which were working horses for drays and Barges in days long gone. I only learned of this in my youth when my mother told us before passing. my grandmother gave up the farm when my grandfather went to war and never came home, little was spoken about it back then but eventually she opened up to us all and eventually told us everything.
very interesting story. It is amazing some of our family history that goes unspoken until a loved one passes. The same has happened to me!
This is an awesome message. It is profoundly needed daily. Thank you for showing this
Thank you for the reply!
When this was shown on TV, it was only one time. It was for respect. Another American company sold off like an old dog. It was a big part of the heart of the country.
I agree. a terrific message then we lost the author.
Powerful, indeed.
Thanks for the update.
Thank you for the reply!
Sad. To have lost the dual meaning of the loss of a massive part of America. First, 9/11; then the loss of a great American company changed forever by the meaningless sale to a European ESG, CRT, BLM, and perverse cultural corporation lead today by an equally perverse Brazilian CEO. The AB family should be forever condemned, and Budweiser should forever be forgotten.
Really tempted to use mechanical switches on my new layout. Less expensive and much less expensive. Nice to see your TFD memorabilia proudly displayed!
I am satisfied with the blue point controllers. Work well and they are much less expensive. However, down the road I can change If I want to.
Nice video. I'm sure it feels good to be able to run more trains soon.
Thank you and yes it does!
I use clear elmers glue when I glue my ballast down and I use paver sand for my ballast. I don't do things the normal way with the gray ballast I got the white haze also when I used the white glue. Nice job
thank you very much for the tip! I just might switch!
Great progress you have made. You will have a great layout when you get all that built

I watched your first video on this looks impressive
Ah yes... I remember those days of training on one of the reservoirs in Fostoria. We had a sled like thing that had 2 pontoons on the bottom... and you ran between the pontoons. If you broke through there was a paddle with a hook to pull/paddle yourself the rest of the way. Just put the victim between the pontoons and haul them up. There was a strap we put around them that slid along the handrail to get them most of the way out of the water. Then the shore crew would pull you in.
Ack... that posted under my old YT channel... lol. Not sure how THAT happened!
Hi there Steve. So you are from the Fostoria area?? I also see you were a firefighter. I just retired after 33 years in Toledo.
@@Yings58 I worked for Fostoria Fire for 15 years before I broke my brain and had to retire lol. I live just East of Tiffin now. Congrats on a 33 year career! That is awesome!
Good luck on your build! Will be watching with interest!
Thank you very much and WOW, I just visited your channel and am very impressed!!! May have to lean on you for advice!!
@@Yings58 Thank you! I'll be happy to help share my opinions and experience but I'll leave the advice up to the pros!

The terrain you’ve chosen to model is not easy…you’re doing a great job…DaveCRE, great guy, we are pretty good friends…he was down visiting for the Timonium RR show couple weeks ago…found a couple gremlins on my layout that needs addressing…where in Ohio are you? Use to live in Cincy…Bearcat Graduate from Ga….Anthony
Until recently I was a lifelong Toledoan. I retired from the Toledo Fire Department last year and moved slightly across the line to MIchigan. My father worked for the C&O for 30 years and had a layout when I was a kid. Now that I have the time and a larger basement I am building my own layout. I use the RUclips channel to document my build and get advice and ideas from others. It is slowly growing, and I am meeting new people such as yourself that know a lot more than I do about the hobby!
@@Yings58 awesome to follow along on your build….this is my first layout and I’ve learned a lot from other modelers…meet a lot of good guys…have had to backtrack and correct some booboo’s
So, that’s where the Real McCoy came from 😊…doing some nice scenery work…like your test beds
Nice work👍🏽
Thank you and I just subscribed to your channel!
Excelente color !
Thank you for the comment!
Drywall compound....of course. This seems like such a better idea than glued paper (machee?) and such. Maybe because I'm just used to working with it? I've never seen it recommended before, but it looks like it would be way easier to shape. Thanks for the tip.
thank you for watching my video!
Sculptimold or paper machee is better because you can shape it into forms that the drywall compound will never hold. Drywall compound also shrinks and cracks a lot.
Nicely done 👍
Thank you and I have subscribed to your channel. Very informative. Thank you
Nice update Greg. Have watched a few of your videos so far and wanted to let you know I am enjoying watching your progress. Thanks for sharing - Rick
Rick. Thank you for taking the time to watch! Greg

I live in the Toledo area, the airport here is named after Eugene F. Kranz. I’ll wait to see if anyone else has an answer to your next quiz question. 😊
I am in Toledo also!
Seems like you found a great name for your engine house ! Very appropriate!
very nice terrain shaping and ground cover! :)
Thank you my friend!
