The Weather Channel - Local on the 8s - Orlando, FL (1/8/2025)
Просмотров 13914 дней назад
Think you can escape the winter cold by going to Florida? Think again!!! This local forecast was dubbed over with Allen Jackson narrations due to the background noise. The LF I recorded uses the 2017 Storm Alert theme, so that was the music I edited in as well. #theweatherchannel #localonthe8s #intellistar

Local on the 8s Intellistar Emulator - Snow Storm of 1895 in Beaumont, TX (2/14/1895)

The hypothetical Intellistar local forecast for the huge snow storm that affected Southeastern Texas and Louisiana very harshly in 1895! This is a hypothetical scenario on what may have happened if the 2010-2013 Intellistar for The Weather Channel existed in 1977, one of the coldest years for those in Florida and even The Bahamas! There were reports of either rain/snow mix or wet snow near Freeport on the morning of January 19th, 1977. The two sources I will list below soon, they mention reports of snow in Freeport. For this fak...

    There was a recurrent rule throughout all of the 1960s where charting songs couldnt drop below 50 or theyre gone i think this applied to any top 20 hit

    • @desatate1143
      @desatate1143 19 дней назад

      While it was very common for songs back in those days to drop out of the charts completely if they go below the top 40 or top 50 (which looks like recurrent rules but it is not, especially since many of those songs drop out before reaching 20 weeks), I believe it was generally due to sales of the single plummeting as record stores begin to rotate them out of the shelves. Rotation of singles were much faster back then, with singles now lingering forever on the Hot 100, despite recurrent rules, due to stagnant radio and streaming. Sales do not really account for much anymore on the charts as the popularity of that has drastically declined.

    • @baxterbrown8088
      @baxterbrown8088 19 дней назад

      @@desatate1143 I do believe there was an actual recurrent rule in the 1960s. In 1963 it was somehwat common for songs to fall out from the 40s but plenty spent their final week in the 50s and 60s as well. From 1964-68 however not a single top 10 hit ever fell below 50, which suggests a recurrent rule because the odds that would happen naturally are basically impossible. In 1969 it happened once to Elvis's Suspicious Minds which was possibly a mistake. Billboard is never perfect at getting it 100%. I think the odds are way higher a recurrent rule was in place than that literally 0 top 10 hits from 64-68 managed to land their final week between 51-100

    • @desatate1143
      @desatate1143 19 дней назад

      Whether or not there was a recurrent rule in the 60s that Billboard had failed to disclose, you are indeed correct in your observations, I agree that I saw this pattern of so many popular songs not dropping below #50 during the 60s as well. And while I am praising you for potentially giving me another chart history video idea, unfortunately it would be way, way, too much to cover lol.

      No way!!! OMG! I didn't expect you'd still be lurking around on RUclips. I'm happy that you love my video!! The reason why I made this video in the first place was because of your Beaumont snowstorm video 14 years ago! It was my main inspiration, and also the reason for the music that I chose in this video. It got me curious if something like that could actually happen in reality, and in fact, it really did! So I got to work making an Intellistar emulation to see what it would look like in 1895, and this video here was the result of that. I hope you're doing well these days and have a continued love for weather and/or Intellistar Local on the 8s content!

But since it does weather forecasts for the United States only it is assumed to be using the Fahrenheit metric. That is why you notice the narration voice (Allen Jackson) does not specify Fahrenheit or Celcius when reading out the forecast. That's just how it is

      I use both a combination of PowerPoint and a video editing software (I use kdenlive). Some of the slides you see in the beginning are done from PowerPoint, and some like the Local Forecast segment is done within the video editing software. Also, if you're talking specifically about how the LDL at the bottom is switching between current conditions every 4 seconds, that was also done in originally in PowerPoint. However, I exported it as a video and inserted it into kdenlive, so that it doesn't need to rely on a PowerPoint slide changing in order to change if you get what I'm saying.
