Do you know that glitch where some random citizen suddenly starts attacking you? This happened often to me on the PS1 - and since I had the german version, this was a bit problematic, because I could not harm that random citizen. Sometimes even 1 or 2 cops attacked - who have guns. The craziest thing was when in the level "The Fallen" out of nowhere a cop with a shotgun came attacking me and shot me down. No clue how that particular occurance was even possible. Maybe it actually was the Semtex-Level.. But even then.. In the German version there is no cop with a shotgun normally (Maybe he is still hidden somewhere and glitched into existence). Another funny thing is when you do nothing special but suddenly the level is lost. I think this happened to me already once in the RTA and once in the Transmission Terminated level. I know that in the latter one actually the cop in the beginning tells you that you only have 30 minutes to make the transmitter explode - but I don't think there is a counter running. It is also funny that in some cars in Semtex randomly a black Wildcat is sitting.
Yes, it happened to me as well. In my speedrun random citizen started fighting wildcats and then me at the end of Southside Offensive mission. Another youtuber has a video where this citizen arrests him ruclips.net/video/pttpgb2rMnY/видео.html. Several people told me about the police officer attacking them in the Fallen, but steps to reproduce this are currently unknown. The level lost thing never happened to me. I do know though that citizen might take the mission taxi vehicle if you leave it on the streets and maybe he drove recklessly and destroyed the vehicle ? :D Transmission Terminated level is strange as I had weird things happen to me in the past. I could have sworn I've lost the mission once when I've dealt with the wildcats before exploding the transmitter. Then I had a strange occurrence when a random text appeared on my screen "Crime rate lowered" and I had no idea why it happened, and it never happened again. I know that this text appears in the mission file but it's supposed to be inactive meaning it shouldn't appear in the actual gameplay. That leads me to the belief that there could be some ways for player to manipulate inactive waypoints to become active in the game - and that's probably also the case with the police officers who randomly attack you. These angry officers sometimes drive the vehicles so they can only appear when they encounter violence on the streets and maybe only there they would try to kill the player.
@TheAntiquatedOne Crime Rate Lowered happens in transmission terminated when you kill or arrest the guy who deals stuff to the other guy. at least this is true in the german version. I have recorded it within the walkthrough of that level on my channel knusperknecht gaming

I have been saying for years the hand cannon is baller. However in the cellar it caps very hard
I was sceptical about this weapon at first as missing the shot means 2 wasted turns, but when I've noticed focus can be used to guarantee the shot I've quickly changed my mind :D It absolutely is a baller!
If you check the audios of the different levels within the game directory you can also notice audios that seem to be missing within the level itself. especially interesting are some audios from the jumper level where street workers are commenting within some sort of mini game, where u have to find the right street worker. they say stuff like "I am not the right person", and "Yes, I am who you were looking for!"

@@TheAntiquatedOne Pressing the conversation button close to benches, palm trees, and phone cells in grim garden also triggers statements by darci and the police station, and the container behind pete's wife in the MiB level contains objects. Would be cool to investigate more into searchable containers and statement triggering objects throughout the game. (cannot find last comment I made about it, so am reposting it here)
@@Knusperknechtinthehouse Another nice catch! There are actually a few more searchable objects scattered across different levels. For instance in the Gatecrasher level you can find a few of those, but not necessarily in the containers :D

@@Knusperknechtinthehouse Sure thing, press shift+F12 to display coordinates on your screen. You can find searchable objects at (97, 0, 76) and at (106, -1, 22). Let me know if you've found them ! :D

1. how do you do side steps? Sometimes it happened to me by accident, but normally I dunno how to do it 2. you probably know that pressing H allows you to drive through walls. why you don't use it? this would for example allow you to smash explosives with a car
1. You can side step on PC version by holding down left shift, up arrow key and left/right arrow. Yes you are right, several missions would have been much faster with this trick. I've decided not to use it as it trivialize several levels, making them less fun to play and watch. I think it would be best to create a different speedrun category for a run using this glitch, maybe I will do a redo in the future if such category is created :D

@@TheAntiquatedOne hey! i just checked it out, and the graphical artifacting issues i had are gone! although now the game forces full screen and the resolution and aspect ratio can't be adjusted. even if i set my desktop resolution to 4:3, the game renders to a 16:9 stretched windowbox lol. im guessing this is SDL just being weird because ive had WIP SDL ports of games do stuff like this before. is there a config setting for resolution? im sure eventually arbitrary resolutions will be added but im totally fine with playing in 4:3 so long as it's not stretched lol. and the quick save feature works BUT if you die and restart the level, the save seems to be wiped unfortunately. i presume it's being written to memory and not a file at the moment? then the memory address is cleared when the restart function is triggered?
@@shade221 Glad to hear that the graphical issues are gone! Right now the only way to change fullscreen mode is via config.txt file- you will find there the fullscreen_mode parameter which if set to 1 will set the game to run in fullscreen mode and when set to anything else should enable the windowedd mode. Another important parameter is video_res which takes values from 1 to 5 and adjusts the resolution 5 being 1920x1080. I haven't really tested the game for different aspect resolutions than 16:9 so thanks to your feedback I understand needs to be addressed. I wanted to add resolution & fullscreen configs to the game itself but I simply didn't have enough time to finish them ( similarly I didn't finish the quicksaves slots and now upon level restart the quicksave file -- quicksave.dat -- is being wiped out). Unfortunately I had to switch to other projects for now as my money is running low but hopefully as soon as I'm back on track I will improve this mod and address all current issues. Thanks for all the feedback and testing!

W innych filmikach pokazałem narzędzia za pomocą, których można między innymi tworzyć własne poziomy. 😉

1:19:40 - This kind of roll would be great addition to the game, but only if it occured once a time. I mean, like everytime you roll, u have 20% chance to randomly do the badass flip. Thats kind of stuff from an action movie :D I wish they had more time to work on this game.

@@TheAntiquatedOne how far along is it in terms of general gameplay? id seriously give you a $30 bounty if you managed to implement quicksaves and fix some of the major bugs the game has (like trying to restart a level makes it crash), and made it an open-source project so the improvements dont get lost to time. the big thing for me really is quicksaves, because theres so many extra tasks and hidden things in each of the levels and its a major pain to spend 15 minutes trying to go through everything again. plus, random crashes happen and quicksaves would help mitigate the problem.

@@TheAntiquatedOne hey! i never got the notification for this, im so sorry for the late response! i checked back to your channel and saw you responded. ill check this out tomorrow. yeah quicksaves would be incredible. i really want to get this game more easily accessible for more people since i think its really underrated, and the psx version while serviceable in its day is very inferior to the PC version imo. thats my motivation for funding a source port lol

are there any plans to make a modern source port of the game? there was some effort by kstuedem (as a fork of mike's release of the source code) but there hasn't been any work on it in a while. i've wanted to play the windows version of the game to completion for a long time now, but the crashes are hard to deal with. if there's no source port in the near future, any ideas on how to keep the game stable?
I'm using jordandavidson fork which is actually forking kstuedem fork (forkception). Here's the link github.com/PieroZ/MuckyFoot-UrbanChaos I'm encountering crashes only when I experiment with the code too daringly or when I try to use the in-game editors in a unexpected manner. I've created several branches to experiment with different stuff, I will try to clean it up, but right now my PC with windows is in computer service so until then I cannot really do much with it :D Generally speaking source code is messy, and there are some issues that needs to be addressed to make it portable to modern devices - mostly graphical issues some of which I believe I've already fixed. I will release the stable version without any other features as soon as I'm done with those bugs. When I get my PC back I might also do a video in which I will demonstrate how to work with this code, how to build it from scratch to help others who have encountered some problems with this process. @@kamilfpl splitscreen :D być może kiedyś spróbuję coś zdziałać, żeby przez Internet też się dało ale na razie nic nie obiecuję. Muszę najpierw naprawić te błędy graficzne. Tak kolega tu robi robotę, dlatego do przyszłych testów coopa też Go zwerbuje :D
Świetna robota. Najbardziej bolą, te drobne i głupie błędy, które człowiek popełnia bezwzględu na skilla, podczas gdy inne rzeczy, te trudne w wykonaniu idą dobrze. Dobrze sobie radzisz. Dzięki za tego seedruna, będę do niego wracał, dopóki nie wrzucisz tutaj następnego. Cieszę się, że ktoś jeszcze gra, a wręcz "rozbiera" Urban Chaos. Sam odwiedzam Darci Stern regularnie od prawie 25lat, a czuję, że można się czegoś od Ciebie nauczyć ^^ UC było lepsze od GTA :D

There is so many unused animations I had to present only some of them to not make that segment too long. Devs definitely had big plans for this game. Too bad so many features were unfinished - probably due to time constraints/money. One could only imagine what the game could have been if all of the features were shipped to the final release.
