Washington's Biggest Wolf Eel
June 15th, 2024, Neah Bay Jetty in about 15ft water we found this hog of a Wolf Eel. The eel was not harmed. My camera case had a leak hence the water drop in the center of the screen.

Some tracking and Balancing. 😂😂😂
You still spearfish in the Seattle area? I'm just starting out and would love to dive with a buddy and learn some stuff!
Yeah we dive still! Just the change of seasons is all. We might sneak out to Westport or neah bay for a day trip before the end of the year.
My worst DUI didn’t have that much lane travel. How bad did that person test out to?
Wahoo!! Way to chop your way into the new year! 🎉
Calm down damn it

Sure. Not sure what exactly you mean.

Can't beat a Sthil. I have a Sthil MS-441and its so fast it will cut a log in two before i even hang it in it LOL! Ive used a 036 as well. I prefer the Sthil 036 over the Sthil 034. Stay safe.
Love the song choice

That's cool. Is this on the south side of the lighthouse?
Yup. We shore dove from the north side late in the day the day prior and had no luck.
Took you long enough to post this... you need an editor haha!
That’s a good idea!
Absolute toads! Cheeks the size of hockey pucks, geez🤤
Looks great 👍 🦀
Great video quality, did you use a Google pixel? The crab looks de-lux 🙏

Bahahaha!!!
Hello there! May I use this clip in my compilation? Thanks.
Go ahead. Thanks for asking.
Is this still a solid spot to go? Just getting into spear fishing for perch and it seems there is a scarcity of information online if where to go.
Yeah there’s usually perch in abundance there. Striped and pile perch. Pile perch are more skittish of the two. I got a dog fish there on my last dive there.
I get so confused between Lingcod, Greenlings and Cabezon. Whats the main differences?
Cabezon in Spanish means ‘huge head’ and they are just that. Like a giant tadpole. They eat crab whole. Lingcod are ‘the big dogs’ of our bottom fish. Both are very good eating! Both can have a blue colored meat (raw) that mostly turns white when cooked. Greenling are very skittish and can have blue colored meat as well. Great tasting as well. Lingcod and cabezon are the challenging ones to find. My cabezon in the video was a few pounds off from the state record. You can look up all the fish species named and see photos and videos.

Jellyfish don’t feel. Stings on the face kinda suck. Cheers
Glad no fatalities occurred.
Hi Tim , may i use your new dashcam video "Drunk driver crashes in Tacoma, Wa" on my channel? With credit. Do you have any update? Comment?
That would be great. Thanks.

@@RRBDDrivingSchool the dude was arrested for DUI.
While Washington lawmakers don't take a tough stance on DWI/DUI offenders, this isn't going to stop, and more innocent people will lose their lives because of a drunk driver. this driver was arrested for DWI/DUI but will be out on the road again in just a few days. the same story just repeats itself over and over again.
That’s the sad truth.
take his license away permanently
No license is gone dummy
It’s Washington state…he’ll end up with some rigid punishment to include a supportive hug, a key to the city and a wad of cash for his troubles.
you're a fool, dui's aren't tolerated here

Gracias hijo. Soy lo mismo…la plaga 😁
NJ spearfisherman here. Might take a trip out to visit my buddy in Seattle in a few weeks, and we might hit up Westport to go surfing. What are the conditions like in early October, either around Seattle or near Westport? Is it worth flying a gun and gear out with me? Thanks!
Westport is pretty spotty. My buddy and I can’t seem to nail down a solid pattern for good visibility. Around Seattle you’d be ok. I got a 19lb cabezon just north of Seattle near the Edmonds ferry in early 2020. If you can go out as close to Neah bay as you can. That’s the best.
@@tim42310 thanks. Looks like Edmonds has some regulations and requires a permit. Is that common around Washington?
@@williammink2109 there’s a dive park where no fishing is allowed on the north side of the Edmonds ferry. But a little north of that outside of the park is where my buddy and I both got our cabezon. Just a saltwater fishing license should be all that’s needed.
You might consider joining Washington Spearos FaceBook group; we're always glad to meet other members of the community!
I joined it.

Nice Cabs guys! There's out there hidin` in the weeds.........
Cool video. I live in Westport and always wondered what it was like under the water. So I'm guessing no sharks in Westport Washington. I've only lived here for a couple years and honestly don't know.
A local charter there told my buddy Dan that there’s a lot of sharks 🦈 in there. I’ve crossed paths with one that was at least 6ft long. I had a couple fish on my stringer and was alone. I hopped out until I met up with Dan and got back in. No other sightings.
@@tim42310 that's good to know. Was thinking about doing some body boarding right near there and was wondering about the sharks. I'll probably just stick with fishing hahaha. I used to be a firefighter and not much scares me. But for some odd reason I'm terrified of sharks. I was also thinking about taking a kayak on the other side of the bay and was wondering about some of the inlets. So if there is allot of sharks in the area I might need to keep that in mind. Thanks for the reply. I wouldn't mind trying to scuba. I'd need to go with a spear gun but I think that would be fun.
19lbs is an absolute slob. Congrats.
What’s the best way to find dive buddies in the area? Looking for someone to dive with regularly starting in the fall (recovering from knee surgery at the moment). I’m in Everett. Thanks!
Just ask around or see about finding a club maybe if they exist around here. Dive shops or common dive sites would be another good place to find some fellow divers.
Washington Spearos has a FaceBook page. You might think about getting on that. We're going to start around September as well.
Is there any good spots to dive for crab there?
We’ve filled limits multiple times in the little Bay Area at the start of the jetty. We see them along the jetty too though.
Cool video
Just realized you pointed the loaded gun at your friend multiple times.
Yeah looking back I’ve learned that isn’t the smartest idea. I make sure to release the bands if I’m going to record them now.
When I fish at my jetty, I always take a minute to jig RIGHT at my feet. I've caught many big cabezon doing that.
Not many fish at that spot now, used to be my favorite too.
Huh It’s been a few months since I dove there. State record cabezon was caught in that passage. 29 pounder I believe.
How’s the current at the Westport jetty?
We’ve usually tried going around slack tide but I haven’t noticed it pulling too hard either way. Maybe a bit choppy at times. Pretty solid spot when visibility is good. Saw a 6 gill shark 🦈 a year ago.
Whats your depth?
Mike Coffman it was maybe 15-20ft is all
That’s awesome man! I live pretty close to there. Is that a 5 or 7 mil?
Double Feed 5/16” spear. Visibility hasn’t been the greatest on our latest trips.
Tim Rushton Sorry I meant wetsuit diameter lol How often do you guys go? I’ve been looking for people to go with for a while...
Double Feed sorry about that. My suit is a 2 piece mako 7mm and keeps me super warm. Not sure what my buddies is but we’ve stayed in the water for about 4hrs once.
Nice. I just started freediving and spearfishing.
