Going over what all I did to the bike and How I did some parts. I have not started the bike yet I'm waiting until spring unless I have a really nice day because I want to give the bike a proper firt warm up and break in. It is still jetted for 70-90 degree weather

It took around 3 weeks to ship out the kx250 cylinder and get it back but it's back and better than ever. Just installed the power valve too.

I haven't taken as many as last year only because I've started wearing proper off road gear and they have no pockets. Pulling over and getting stuff out of my backpack is harder than it should be to take a picture.

Kx250 rebuild put on hold because I have to send my cylinder out to be re-plated because the Nikasil plating on the inside of the cylinder is worn away and pitted in spots.

I have the same kit. The bearings won't last because flex in the U channel put a side load on the bearings when the skewers are tightened. I added spacers to keep it from flexing inward when tightening. Problem solved. Also the roller diameter is too big for that engine. I ground mine down to just under 1 inch. Huge improvement!
bs. I did 4k km last year on a premix 2t road bike with lots of engine brake and piston and cylinder still look brand new
Idle sounds a little high
That’s a clean 400 like low hours
before you put to many rpm mods on it make sure to get a billet flywheel because that stock one will go kaboom at about 5 grand.

Hey how’s it going I like you’re video it gave me the inspiration to build the staton kit I’m using the 38cc 4 stroke honda clone like yours. It came with no manual and get no reply can you remember how much oil it takes every one says it’s the same as honda 35 but my small engine mechanic says it maybe different because the cc is higher the crank case could be a little larger
Besides it's a friction drive set up so it's technically not a chain to rear wheel so it honestly does not matter how big the motor is as long as it's a friction drive setup
You must be doing something wrong. Been riding/racing and rebuilding 2 wheelers fo 35 years and I never scuffed or blown up a piston. 🤔

All right, so this is three years old, so I doubt this is going to help you, but. If you install valve springs, you must install a billet rod and at minimum a cast aluminum or billet flywheel. If you do not, you are going to blow it up if you have not already. The best thing you can do is to leave the stock valve springs in. That will give you valve float which will act as a rpm limiter keeping you from exploding the engine. And even then you still run the risk without installing the billet rod and flywheel.
The old bikes are premix. Newer bikes are separate like the ktm 2 stroke oil goes in the frame.

my 97 kx randomly looses compression after like 10 kicks and gains it back right after, i have no fuckin clue what it is because i just sent it off for a top end and a bottom a few months ago and only put like 3 hours on it

Hey I have a predator 212 prolly someone can answer or help me with this lol I let my friend ride my mini bike with the predator engine he removed the governor Idk what he did exactly but it isn't starting there's spark but he said he blew it up I'm thinking he held the throttle out for too long idk 😐 exactly 💯 But also it's hard to crank pullstart is there an easy fix
The governor was installed at the factory for a reason. These engines aren’t meant to go beyond 3600 rpm’s without modifications
I have a 212 bone stock bottom end and stock flywheel revving over 6k with a stage 2 cam kit and valve springs never had and issue with it

Yes they are very reliable a still ride this one and it's never let me down. Have about 3k miles on it and it still rides like new.
I might be buying a kx soon as a project guess it has low compression for 1500 idk if the guys knows anything about the fix on it but it’s a steel I think

so 20 miles on 16 ounces of gas. That's 40 miles to a quart. There are 4 quarts in a US gallon. So 160 miles to a gallon. not bad.

I’ll tell you what’s really annoying when you have a large per that was running for 30 minutes and you keep pulling the cord pulling the cord pulling the court and won’t start and you put carbs spray and runs for two seconds and then it doesn’t run at all and all it was was a bloody gas cap Toyota engine apart
I'm tired of my HP racing carbs breaking off at the mount and need a better carb for my ported pk 80 engines, I have 3 on 3 bikes and the NT carburetors just suck and leak big time, the HP racing carbs are great after changing the jets to a smaller size , but after a month they break off in the same mounting spot, I'm going to try one of these speed carbs and change the jet to a 62 jet which I use in all of the carbs I tried for the altitude here in Oregon. I tried these a long time ago when I first got into these motorized bicycles but I didn't change the jet, which are size 72 in these, the NT is a 70 and the HP racing carb is a 78 jet. BTW bike berry is way overpriced, I buy from eBay because they are guaranteed and a third of the price of BB, gas bike and all of the rest of them.

Engine braking on a TPI bike will not damage the engine. It says so right in the manual. But I think a carbureted bike is different.
One big thing you failed to mention. Automotive oil has a detergent in it to clean carbon deposits in automotive engines. That detergent WILL foam all to hell in a motorcycle or small engine. That foaming greatly reduces the oils ability to lubricate areas that are foamed the worst and will cause massive wear and eventual motor failure. I would only run car oil in my bike if I had no other option and for as short of a time as possible.
I'm looking at buying my second friction drive kit, and have never had a problem other than wearing through tires. It's a friction drive DUH. This kid is talking about how the cheap Chinese two stroke kits are better, then shows us his highly modified setup saying it costs less. I call BS on this kid. While the BBR engine is a Chinese Honda knockoff, it's not going to self destruct like the two strokes are known for doing.

I bought this same kit. Very poor quality. Drive roller is much too large in diameter, clutch drum on friction drive unit didn't line up with the engine well. Bought a Staton friction drive kit and used the engine from the bike berry kit. Awesome setup now. Staton kit is very good quality. .937 diameter drive roller. I installed a smooth rear tire and now the tire wear is very minimal. I get 15 miles to a tank. Carb did need an adjustment, was too lean from the factory. Love this setup. Have 500+ miles on it now.
I have the same kit on a folding bike and I agree the roller diameter is way too large. I ground the roller down to about .9" which works pretty well.
