Welcome. Fell free to subscribe to my channel for Model Railway things. Mostly the North British Railway or the LNER. I'm a Scottish modeller. Soon to be planning a layout set in Scotland based on places and stations in Scotland
Auld Lang Syne: 'Back to Basics'
It starts off as another day at the sheds before the day gets switched about and Maude ends up back in the yard shunting with Cedric. How will Maude find it?
This is my go at making an episode of Auld Lang Syne, I hope you all enjoy it and let me know what you think of it. I've other ideas planned for the future. I just want to say a big thank you to the cast for all voicing in the episode and then everyone else that helped me with suggestions and script edits.

Ihope your find a steam locomotive video of Philippines
For goodness sake why am I having to watch young girls hair products and food advertising when I want to watch steam trains. FFS. BAD.
Incredible footage especially the Southern Railway footage a big fan of the Sothern railway also the LMSR.
20:53 Great Scotland Yard. It's The Brighton Belle Pullman Train. Thanks Mate. X
15:50 Note The GWR Pannier Tank Engines At Folkestone Docks. Thanks Mate. Xxxx 🇺🇸
Fascinating, thanks for sharing 👍
abs fantastic what an era
My Granddad, Uncle and Mum all worked on Southern railways, my Mum was telephonist on Brighton Station during the War.
Thank for this beautiful upload and thanks to all the cameramen who filmed all these beautiful films.
3:44 is the baltic tank referring to the lbscr l
The old days have gone forever
39:01 look at that global warming. 😂
This is a breath of fresh air in these violently political times of 2024.
39:36 Not "Kymer junction" but "Keemer junction".
36:11 Not "Horsted Keens", Horsted Kaynes.
34:24 Not "eight thousand and eleven" (8011) but eighty thousand and eleven (80011). 8011 might have been an LNER N7 0-6-2T, but not, surprisingly, a GWR locomotive.
20:59 not "Weaversfield" - "Wivelsfield", my home station for several commuting years.
Brings back memories. ¿Why was the WC haulage rating "7P5FA" rather than just "7P5F"?
I love the steam age on British Railways in the early 1920s-40s and 1950s-60s
What was the station name? 1:36
Very nice.
Wonderful footage and informative commentary
I remember this exact trip bus to St Albans station, train to St Pancras 8 car DMU, tube to Waterloo, WC and MN Pacifics still in use but 12 car 4 cor set to Portsmouth Harbour, paddle steamer to Ryde, steam hauled to Sandown.
No numbers or names
What a great film, thanks for sharing
N classes are my absolute favorite 😍. Lovely footage of them in their headay!
1:07 This Famous Train Station Waterloo In London In England In The United Kingdom First Opened In 1848 175 Years Ago From The London And South Western Railway And When The Southern Railway Took It Over On 1st January 1923 100 Years Ago Which Is Bigger Than Paddington Station Which Is The Home Of The Great Western Railway. Thanks Mate. X
Thanks algorithm!
It’s a shame these fine locomotives were left in neglected state. Not like in the company days Southern etc , British rail didn’t look after them. 👍🏻😎
Why would they by the time most of these films were shot steam was seen as obsolete by BR as diesel and electric traction were taking over as the dominant motive power
Superb footage and narrative! Most grateful, thank you.
In watching these shots, one can only mourn the loss and lack of interest in any loco produced prior to BR nationalisation…oh yes there is a small reference to some Castles and Bulleid’s de-streaks but it amounts to the same old boring stuff…
I literally watch this all the time! I have a dvd case and disc of this! Honestly it’s just amazing! My mom brought me this because I loved trains so much! Even the music at the beginning and ending is awesome! I love this so much! 😊
I was hoping there would be some steam loco scrapping footage but I didn't see any.
Excellent and informative and nostalgic, thankyou for this
Excellent video, thank you!
No computers, no smart phones, no satellites orbiting the Earth to make the technology work. No worries about Global Warming, no worries about Climate Change. No nuclear weapons at least up to 1945. By no means a perfect country, yet I love these old videos that show us a Britain that is no longer.
Just so greatful for this valuable footage
As somebody who was born and raised in Horsted Keynes, may I respectfully point out that Keynes is pronounced "Kanes"? A most enjoyable film, thank you. 😊
And he gets Wivelsfield wrong as well..........but a wonderful Film, I spent many Happy Hours travelling back Home to Lewes, and my dear Wife came from Plumpton, born in one of the LBSC Railway Houses there.
I didn’t realize this wasn’t official Auld Lang Syne, amazing!
Thank you, though I did have Stuart help me out with this episode so that's probably why it came out as good as it did
Wow. Interesting.
What an interesting and well narrated production. Quite charming
I can't believe you ended a Maude episode with something George Formby... Has Maude let you forget it?
He doesn't know and I would like it to stay that way
Poor video
How so?
Probably just a silly troll who can't understand why footage filmed in the 1930s isn't in 4K or understands that these sort of things were one take audio recordings
@@jameswright7284 Idiot remark.
@@jameswright7284 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍nail on the head there James
Oh man this DVD was my childhood. This and like a million other train docs
Interesting contrast/coexistence between 1960s office architecture, a 1940s train, and a 19th century station with 1930s additions at 11:41 !
My favourite era was 1960 to 1968 with stream loco scrapping.
My grandmother when I was about 6 used to take me to Beverly park in New Malden to watch the Merchant navy and Battle of Britain class locomotives steam past.............. happy days
I have just begun modelling 1930s Southern. This is like a goldmine to me! I had no idea that Pullman cars were found in the rakes. I have a couple of those so I will make sure they feature!! Thanks for this unbelievabley rare and insightful content!
Wheres bread box then
He was back at my house, as he was running okay
I was born in a cottage on the B3012 Guildford Road in Frimley Green in 194*, 50 yards from the bridge at the end of the Deepcut Cutting -with Basingstoke Canal next to the line. Watched in awe as a tiny child and never forgot the smell, loved standing on that bridge when the trains roared under. A well curated video - thank you. However, why did you bugger up the Kinks most beautiful song?
I'm guessing the reason for the 'musak' is copyright.
Nice episode! 5 stars!
Thank you!
