I loved the episode. It was nice to see Holmes again and it was also nice that the original voice actors did the voices as it added to the authenticity. I feel the story captured the spirit of Auld Lang Syne perfectly. I loved the nice touch of Maude saying thank you but not wanting anyone else to hear. He has his reputation to keep up. His smile was lovely too If this is a sign of things to come then I’m a Fan all the way.
Well done, if I didn’t know any better I’d say this came straight from Stuart, you’ve done wonderful with the dialogue and visuals. I wonder what else ye’ll be cooking up
@@TheBallastMan Your welcome! This is kind of a curious but fun question, but what happens if you put Maude with any of the confrontation engines on Sodor, like Gordon, James, or even Duncan maybe?
I rather enjoyed this, it was nice to go back to the original style of the series after many years - especially now Stuart has overhauled the look of the series, though one thing I'd strongly recommend fixing for next time is keeping the camera still as many times during this episode it kept jumping around, which I found to be very distracting - what do you use to record, out of interest? That was my only real issue with the thing though, well done man and it'll be nice to see what you do for Auld Lang Syne in future!
Thanks Ethan for the feedback, this was my first go at filming so I'll improve more over time as I make these stories, I use my phone to film and it seems to do the job pretty well. Hopefully I'll be making more episodes in the future I have plans to continuing this style of Auld Lang Syne
So... I'm American. What is this? Ive seen several different episodes on different channels. Was this a TV series or something? I tried to Google it but got no answer. I absolutely love it though.
The series started in 2016 by a user called Auld Lang Syne (Old Scottish for Long, long ago) Six episodes were planned but only three were ever made as the series ended up being cut short due to reasons the original creator has kept private. The series was revived in 2019 thanks largely model railway company Hornby who released a new model of the London North Eastern Railway locomotive, the J36 which one of the characters, Maude, was based off. Since then (And at the time of writing this) three new episodes have been released (It should be noted that these were not based off original 2016 scripts as the revival takes place approximately 24 years after the original trio, hence why certain characters are absent or are have been introduced in between episodes) It is also why in some cases the engine´s faces and models look different. As for the original episode 1 to 3 models, they were sold off to one of the series´ voice actors who, as you can see, is doing their own version of the series using the same characters with the same voices and faces as the original. Again this is not a remaster of the original series but a fresh take continuing from where the original creator left off.
Thank you, as the comment below has stated this is my go at an episode although I want to add I did actually help with the original series in the planning and all that. Although I won't be continuing with anymore Auld Lang Syne as I'll be planning to do my own series now also set in Scotland but I'll have more news on that at a later date
I don't think that would be a good idea, if I was to continue with Auld Lang Syne, I'd want to write my own episode again as I'd want to move away from Maude being grumpy and realising change is a good thing
I'm a simple man, I see Auld Lang Syne, I click. In all seriousness, this is great, it feel just like the original series!
Thank you, that was my aim but I've decided to move onto other projects and have a go at my own series
@@TheBallastMan I wish you good luck! I'll keep my eyes peeled for them

I didn’t realize this wasn’t official Auld Lang Syne, amazing!
Thank you, though I did have Stuart help me out with this episode so that's probably why it came out as good as it did
5:29 this the first time i ever seen Maude smile and actually be kind
It's a rare occasion only happens once in a blue moon
Wonderful see everyone back together again!
Thank you Alex and thanks for voicing in the episode

Really good job! It’s great to see this series again, and the classic Maude and Cedric interactions.
Thank you, it was fun to write them

@@MikeD57s it's something I've never really thought about but I imagine Maude would just be his grumpy old self with those engines
Well done Richard! :D
Thank you Kameron!
Good episode laddie! Love it!
Thank you
4:47 sounds like one of the tractors from Cars
Nice to be back at Haymarket again.
Thank you, hopefully I'll be making some more episodes in the future

But.... I really wanna know why there are no elephants in Venezuela! XD
Maybe in a future episode we'll find out 😛
I can't believe you ended a Maude episode with something George Formby...
Has Maude let you forget it?
He doesn't know and I would like it to stay that way
Cool but have we met before?
I don't know have we?
Sorry to bother, but which version of Auld Lang Syne was playing while Maude and Cedric were shunting?
It's this version of Auld Lang Syne, hope this helps
