50 Years of the Conway Scenic Railroad | Conway Scenic Railroad's 50th Anniversary Trains
The Conway Scenic Railroad was formed in 1974 by Dwight Smith, Carroll Reed and Bob Levy. Negotiations with the Boston & Maine Railroad to purchase trackage between Intervale and Conway had been made for years before the railroad finally sold the portion of the Conway Branch to them. On August 4th 1974 the inaugural run was made with Canadian National 7470 with two passenger cars to Conway.

I happened to notice all of the shiny new rock ballast dropped along the tracks, observed from traveling east on NH Route 101, across the Souhegan River in Wilton, NH. This upgrade appears quite necessary, a benefit from the sale of PanAm Railways to the CSX Railroad!

When do they go through concord?
Kind of hard to tell when they are running nowadays. They only run a couple times a month and it could be during the day or during the night.

Fun fact Originally this train was from California. It came from the minarets and western railway in friant California where I grew up!

Vermont exile here. I rode part of that right of way back in 1970,when Steamtown was there. I visited the Conway Scenic Railroad in July, 2018. The F Unit wasn't operating then😢

I'm just a wee late in getting to this video, but it was so worth the wait. Simply awesome. Thank you. My sister hates yellow, she is much younger than I am, so she cannot understand my love of the color, especially when paired with green. But I grew up on the MEC, and I can't get enough.
