Ruined that bumper
Another person who can't make a vq sound good. It very easy. Just stop buying shit sounding exhausts and stop being allergic to resonators. Don't do test pipe they ALL sound like shlt. Hfc, resonated y pipe and nismo exhaust. Thank me later. Throaty vq, zero rasp, no drone.
Motordyne is one of the best out there. This is with the muffler delete section so it’s much louder.
Oof that exhaust has to go. But aye not my car 🤷🏽

Sans a couple Helmholtz resonators at the tail section on the Motordyne it essentially is. This was when I was running their muffler delete section

Yes. Mine is turbo now too with the same cams.
Im getting ready to order a set of these cams, did you recess your pistons or eliminate vtc? When i look at the tech sheets the valve clearamce is listed at 11. Where the cam clearance is 11.30 i believe.

I did not. Mine are 10.5mm of lift though, so they dropped in without issue
I wonder why there is a difference in lift. You're de also, so tomei must have changed the specs at some point because all the procam variants I've found have 11/11.3

Idol sounds incredible but the top end is so loud
I'm moving to Denver in a few weeks, definitely considering getting a turbo for my HR 350z at some point. But I'll have to see. With the altitude the turbo should make an even bigger difference, but also I do like the characteristics of the NA engine, and want to keep this thing reliable

Did you change your engine mounts and trans mounts to stiffer ones if not did it affect it at all

Was going to get this shifter.... Wonder if you can make a custom shift boot for it to hide the lower edges
I’m pretty certain you could. I’ve seen a handful of people make something to cover it up.

I did. If you have a late model interior, use the automatic shifter surround which has the hazard lights button further away and won't need to be cut. You can then buy a shift boot from z1 and glue it to the under side of the auto shift surround. It looks OEM now and I didn't have to cut anything.

Just binged the whole build. Loved every minute. Probably my favorite Z in all honesty Ive seen. Learned a lot as well as I plan to rebuild my z33 DE internals soon. Thanks brotha 🤙🏼

I remember the days of FPZGC and hanging out with Nick and you at Zdayz before they stopped doing that. Was so glad i got to drive Nicks GTR and see your car when it was Tomei cams and now you're full turbo race build. Finding your channel again makes me want to build my Nismo 350z more thats still sitting around in the garage. Great job on the build man.

Sounds better than many others, but I would prefer much less rasp. You may add some resonators or mufflers to quell off some of that extra rasp.

Momentum headers, which are now branded as Z1 headers. Tomei 272 cams. In theory yes you can, but will probably take some fabrication

Where you get these cams i cant find the same ones you have even on there website dont see an option for 272 cams with 10.5
These are the older Japanese spec cams. I’m not sure if they’ve changed or just moved them to a different lift

funny you say that. Have you ever look at how a coyote is built? Its pretty much a vq with 2 extra cylinders. The motors are extremely similar especially with the timing covers off. funny part is i hate the way vqs sound but yet a coyote is my favorite🤣
