Astro Bot started as a character designed to demonstrate the power of the PlayStation’s flagship technology and new hardware within various in-built tech demos and mini games starting with the Playstation 4.
Many years on from his initial debut though, Astro has gone from an unnamed side character, to arguably one of the PlayStation’s most widely recognisable mascots and the hero of his own self-titled adventures.

Astros playroom is great. Playing through that little free experience brought me more joy than almost every other game over the last decade or so. At the risk of sounding cliché, it actually made me feel like a kid again, just having fun and the biggest grin on my face.

My son has interacted with Astro bot on ps4 since he was 5 years old with the camera and now with me having a ps5 he played the astros playroom free game with the ps5 and he loved it as of this moment he’s enjoying astro bot and loving every moment of it .

Imagine if Sony and Team Asobi wrote a backstory for Astro that played into his tech demo root. As in, something like Astro once being a standard-issue Bot before finding something that upgraded him into the hero we know today, and the vast majority of Bot-kind not being interested in the past before Astro found some artifacts.

I used to work at a second hand video game store and remember sorting through the skylanders figures! I didn't know that they recieved adsitional content but thats great news for the fan base 😄

I loved Astro since the 1st time I booted up Astro’s playroom & can't wait to see how Astro Bot plays, but what speaks the most to me is the care & love for Playstation & its franchises, like my favourite beging God of War, to see Kratos Bot made me happy beyond belief & in the future for your channel I think it'd be really kool if you could do a deep dive on Kratos & the whole God of War series because it truly is a fascinating tale
@@INKY_627 GOW is one of my most beloved franchises, from hiring the original at my local video store in my youth, getting the special edition version with the DVD for my birthday one year and to Ragnarok, it holds a special place for me. I'll be visiting the franchise one day, watch this space 😄
Astro Bot is the PS5's LittleBigPlanet. It's a flagship exclusive that is necessary to the Playstation brand as a whole, especially with all the huge mistakes Sony keeps making and continues to make, all while leaving games people actually want to just be sat on and done nothing with. This franchise is the diamond in the wroth for the PS5, and Sony needs to realize it or else they'll end up nowhere much like Microsoft's Xbox at this rate.

ASTRO's Playroom is what got me into Astro bot, i didn't even know he came a long way in the PS4 days. Sony really made something special to gamming. Ty Team Asobi ❤

Astro Bot does everything a proper game mascot is designed to do. Fun and engaging personality, easy to pick up mechanics, and bountiful map collectables. Sony has invested in making pretty much zero of these kinds of games and now that it's a tech demo achieving it speaks to how anemic they've made their catalogue.

Astro Bot is pure quality. Loved Play Room and still play it to this day with my daughter. Astro bot was a day one purchase and it's brilliant.

Astro Bot, from a tech demo, to one of the most heart wrenching nostalgia trips I've ever had. And I'm saying this as someone who only had a ps4 lmao The ps5 playroom just made me feel a childhood that I didn't really have with the Playstation consoles.

Quality in build is one thing, character charm is another, but as has been seen in the past week players want fun and enjoyable titles ans Astro hit the mark 😁
