I honestly don’t agree with the title because the dynamics between Clair and Heathcliff were the rule way before this show and Elvin’s ideals along with Cassandra were the exception. “Outdated” kind of implies that Elvin’s ways were a standard back then or before when actually Cassandra and Elvin are the modern ones. Toxic feminism has a way of only attracting toxic masculinity that that’s all they see everywhere and visa verse. It’s so much clearer today.
When I think about it now, It makes total sense to me that Alvin needed to be educated by her. Not specifically to tell him a woman's point of view or marriage in general. Even though the men around him get it, Alvin feels the need to educate "them", even pity them "as a fellow man." Mrs. Huxtable however, can tell him exactly what he needs to hear since she's not his friend, comrade, or fellow man.
I miss the good old days, when a frank conversation with the wife started with WHATS FOR DINNER? and ended with YOU CALL THAT DINNER?...Oh wait, wrong show!
These are the days when American Black sitcom was responsible, humorous and gave great value to the family institution. The women were respectable, loving, kind yet strong and assertive. Men were respectful of women, children and family yet strong in character. What happened to that America?? As a South Asian young man who experienced TV in the 80's these were the shows which gave us that education and entertainment.

Bill Cosby is a monster. Bill Huxtable is a role model. I hope that we bring this show back eventually
She ripped him a new one without raising her voice.❤😂
THATS IT!!!
Cliff already know what was coming when ole boy said "I didnt know you did that kinda thing" 😂
1:20 Bud's facial expression..."who?"🦉😂
Look where this message led to. Elvin was right.
🤣Pray tell, where did this message lead to?
@@RunstarHomer it lead to Cosby giving out “famous people water”

If your boys came to the house, there isn't food, then order it.
"OUTDATED" YEAH RIGHT! we're slowly going back to realizing Elvin was right all along lolol
Who’s we?? Lolol
Yup 😂
As much as Bill Cosby did nasty things and should be accountable, this was a great show and an awesome scene.
Yall see how cool Cliff walked outta the way & let Elvin catch that bullet from Claire??? Classic!!😅😂😂
I loved this show...goddammit why did Cosby have to turn out to be a maniac?
My one and only critique…. Yes marriage is give and take…. But it sure as hell ain’t and will never be 50/50.
Kim from Kimmy's
I imagine Elvin's parents are very delightful people. Lol.
Damn," "Shit," and "That is whack!"
Anything, anywhere , anyplace anytime ever 😂😂
Elvin.... Yes sir? Ellllviiiinnnnn......
“If I were you I wouldn’t drink it.” That line aged like milk for him
Bru i forgot how good this show was ... she was the best tv wife ever....n i mean ever.....
"Sometimes I come home... and there's nothing to eat" "...well (hehehe) are your hands broken???" 😂😂😂
she read him .. i miss family tv
That didnt age well
This kid is right all children suffer when mom works....but he is the joke despite the data being on his side. Thank goodness for full time moms.
Cosby sure through a lot of hints around spiking drinks and sauces on this show, didn't he? Even in his stand up he talked about Spanish Fly, etc..
What Sondra saw him in Elvin I don’t know😅😅😅😅
Denise’s future husband…
Darrell
Elvin was such a caveman. Claire really taught him a lesson.
Kenny just got finnier and funnier. He made such a lasting impression on me. He was such a funny child
Look at Donavan Mcnabb
Kenny's right, a man should hold a door for a woman, that's called being a gentleman.
This is genius
I wonder if he made her watch him cook
I like the fact they brought him back and hands of being Denise’s husband
Those were the time when kids played OUTSIDE. No FB, Tiktok, IG and no sick creepy neighbors preying on kids
Kenny and Rudy were cute!
Biology will never be outdated.
Elvin was right!!
So love and appreciate this episode ❤️
"When she brings the coffee back, I wouldn't drink it." CREEPY MAN!
I loved this episode 💯♥️♥️😄😄😂
Feminism is such nonsense. A woman's place is in the home and it has been that way for centuries. That said, I still get laughs out of this show.
Not all women are the same.
@@DeepScreenAnalysiswhich is why most aren’t married anymore😂
“when she brings the coffee, i wouldnt drink it”…has not aged well
Daryl is such a sweetheart, he was raised well by his parents, unlike Elvin. Too many Elvins, not enough Daryls.
Elvin: sometimes I wanna sleep with a woman, but she doesn't wanna sleep with me. Cliff: Ain't you heard of Rohypnol?
