Kyoto: Yakiniku “Like”
I was really in the mood for Korean barbecue but Google and my phone once again failed me. In the end, I found this place called “Like”, and let’s just say, it was an experience. It was fun and you have to see it for yourself to really understand it. If you’re in Kyoto and want cheap yakiniku, give it a try.

Appa Gets a Facial and Ginger Pork
Просмотров 516 часов назад
I decided to get a facial and ended up doing a bit of a scavenger hunt to find Dandy Men’s Spa. In the end, it was all worth it, and it was just another one of those only-in-Japan experiences. After my facial, I went to one of my favorite restaurants near my hotel for a delicious ginger pork meal. The restaurant is called Takayama and it’s on a small side street off of Kawaramachi Dori next to ...
Kyoto: Massage & Dan Dan Noodles
Просмотров 92 часа назад
Appa needed a massage, so I booked a 90-minute shiatsu and left feeling like a new man. Well, almost. It was an amazing massage and I plan to go back once more before I leave Kyoto. After my massage, I had dan dan noodles and gyoza. The noodles were delicious, but my stomach was not really in the mood after the massage, so I couldn’t finish all of them. I did eat all of the gyoza. The restauran...
Kyoto Imperial Palace: Udon and Tempura

I visited the Kyoto Imperial Palace and had a lovely lunch inside the park. I tried the udon with tempura. Not only was it delicious, it was a feast for the eyes. The palace was stunning, and even though it was very cold, I had a really nice visit. #kyoto #japan #japantravel #japanesefood #udon
Kyoto: Fried Eggplant with Chili + Fried Fish
Просмотров 74 часа назад
I found a great little restaurant called Takayama. They have a huge selection of set meals at really affordable prices. It’s right off of Teramachi Dori, near Oike Dori. Check it out if you are in the area. I had fried eggplant with chili and fried fish. It came with tofu, pickles, salad and rice. It was super filling and like someone’s home cooking. #japan #japantravel #kyoto #japanesefood
Kyoto Station: Fried Oysters
Просмотров 97 часов назад
I went to Kyoto Station to check the food selection. Started at Ramen Street on the 10th floor of Isetan, but the smell was overpowering and I wasn’t in the mood to figure out all of the choices (I need to do some research first), so I went up to the 11th floor to check out the fancy restaurants. I ended up in a tonkatsu restaurant where I got delicious fried oysters with a fried shrimp and sma...
Kyoto: Afternoon, Gion, Ramen & Gyoza
Просмотров 629 часов назад
My first afternoon in Kyoto was about orienting myself. I walked to Gion and from there back towards my hotel where I found some delicious ramen and gyoza. I also found some little surprises along the way. It’s all about the journey, not the destination (especially when you don’t know what your destination is.) My impression of Kyoto so far - I love it. It’s going to be a great place to hang ou...
Kyoto: Morning Routine
Просмотров 429 часов назад
The free “breakfast” at my hotel was a disappointment, so instead I went out and found the nearest Yoshinoya. Stopped at Starbucks and found a beautiful working temple. And then on my way back to my hotel, had a nice surprise at Family Mart. Morning in Kyoto is beautiful before people wake up and the streets get crowded. #kyoto #japantravel #japan #yoshinoya
Kyoto: Nishiki Market
Просмотров 6912 часов назад
My first afternoon in Kyoto, I headed to nearby NIshiki Market. Who knew Kyoto was a street food paradise? I was amazed by all of the yummy food for sale. I ended up having a few things and calling that my dinner. Even though it was crowded, it wasn’t too bad, and it was a lot of fun. I will definitely be going back. If you come to Kyoto, definitely check it out. Bring a lot of yen and an appet...
Shinkansen: Tokyo to Kyoto
Просмотров 8812 часов назад
I took the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto. It took two hours and fifteen minutes and was a beautiful, smooth ride. Of course I ate, because what else are you going to do? I got an eki-ben in Tokyo station, an onigiri, and some macadamia nuts. The best part of the trip was a clear view of Fuji-San. #shinkansen #japantravel #japan
Asakusa at Night
Просмотров 7614 часов назад
Asakusa is a destination that preserves a little bit of that old Edo feeling, and nothing says old Edo more than a rickshaw, or jinriksha, as they are called here. Even though I’d done it before, I couldn’t resist and I was not disappointed. My jinriksha driver, Shoto was adorable, funny, and just a pleasure to spend 30 minutes with as he brought me around Asakusa, showed me the sights, and of ...
Ginza: Tonkatsu

Finding food isn’t always the easiest thing in a foreign country, especially when the script they use is completely unintelligible to you, but fortunately, I found a nice little tonkatsu place and they had an English menu and were super kind. I think they were even impressed by my limited Japanese! And of course, tonkatsu is one of the best things ever. I believe at its root it’s a fusion dish ...

I get so hungry watching these videos.
The noodles looked so delicious!

I'll be in CDMX April. You seemed to be underwhelmed by the cafe. I made a list of chocolate shops.
@@ericbond5276 Oh no, I loved it. Loved the museum and the chocolate looked amazing. Skip the chocolate tamale. Look for the tacos de mixiote though. They were really special and the people were so nice. Have a great trip!
Thank you for your nice reply.
Everyone can be psychic and in the end will ask money😂. Sounds crazy. I dont believe to psychic. Only in God. Be safe
Wow that looks delicious .... filling .... and so inexpensive!
The food seems extremely cheap! How are the prices on the hotels?
@@yaaridyer9501 Yoshinoya has always been cheap, but the dollar is strong against the yen now. Hotels aren’t a bargain, but aren’t expensive either, but I guess it depends on where you stay - rooms at the APA Hotel are very small.
I love a Japanese breakfast. YUM!
One location in the NE Philadelphia still exists
Nice to see Tokyo! Doesn't look very crowded ...
Is that Brian’s dog, Plywood, on your apron? 😂😂 Hope you’re well!!
LOL, no, just a random dog.
Keep the recipes coming!! I love cooking shows and want to try my hand at some scripelles very soon
The background music is great!!
Beautiful view from your hotel room!!
What a lovely afternoon we had! We were so so blessed with wonderful weather in Mexico City! The museum was great and I love that park!
Wonderful memories! chocolate heaven!! Taco heaven!!
What fun! I don't know anything about Panama. Adventure!
HISTORY OF ALFREDO DI LELIO CREATOR IN 1908 OF “FETTUCCINE ALL’ALFREDO” (“FETTUCCINE ALFREDO”), NOW SERVED BY HIS NEPHEW INES DI LELIO, AT THE RESTAURANT “IL VERO ALFREDO” - “ALFREDO DI ROMA” IN ROME, PIAZZA AUGUSTO IMPERATORE 30 With reference to your article I have the pleasure to tell you the history of my grandfather, who is the creator of “Fettuccine all’Alfredo” (“Fettuccine Alfredo”) in 1908 in the “trattoria” run by his mother Angelina in Rome, Piazza Rosa (Piazza disappeared in 1910 following the construction of the Galleria Colonna / Sordi). This “trattoria” of Piazza Rosa has become the “birthplace of fettuccine all’Alfredo”. More specifically, as is well known to many people who love the “fettuccine all’Alfredo", this famous dish in the world was invented by Alfredo Di Lelio concerned about the lack of appetite of his wife Ines, who was pregnant with my father Armando (born February 26, 1908). Alfredo Di Lelio opened his restaurant “Alfredo” in 1914 in Rome and in 1943, during the war, he sold the restaurant to others outside his family. In 1948 Alfredo Di Lelio decided to reopen with his son Armando his restaurant in Piazza Augusto Imperatore n.30 "Il Vero Alfredo" (“Alfredo di Roma”), whose fame in the world has been strengthened by his nephew Alfredo and that now managed by me, with the famous “gold cutlery” (fork and spoon gold) donated in 1927 by two well-known American actors Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks (in gratitude for the hospitality). See the website of “Il Vero Alfredo” for “Alfredo’s franchising in the world”. I must clarify that other restaurants "Alfredo" in Rome do not belong and are out of my brand "Il Vero Alfredo - Alfredo di Roma". The brand "Il Vero Alfredo - Alfredo di Roma" is present: 1) in Mexico with a restaurant in Mexico City and a trattoria in Cozumel on the basis of franchising relationships with the Group Hotel Presidente Intercontinental Mexico; 2) in Saudi Arabia with a restaurant in Jeddah on the basis of franchising relationship with a qualified Arab partner. The restaurant “Il Vero Alfredo” is in the Registry of “Historic Shops of Excellence of the Municipality of Roma Capitale. Best regards Ines Di Lelio
Ok how long did it take ya to make those 5 dozen? lol. I don’t have a pizzelle maker… yet… but I’m betting it will be an all afternoon project ?
Sorry, I forgot to time it, but it was around 30 minutes. I made another batch today of orange cardamom. Yummy.
Just bought an iron. Thank you for all the tips!♥️

Yum!! Happy Thanksgiving!!
Same to you!
Yeah, I just had this pizza for the first time yesterday at their Washington TWP location. I had heard so many good things over the years about this place, and I was really disappointed. You are right about the sauce, in fact, the whole pizza was very bland and lacking flavor.
the food looks delicious good cooking recipe
@@kaitsdiary thank you! It was delicious!
your an idiot, just stop what you're doing
Looks so fun! The olives and focaccia look AMAZING. Can't believe how cheap the pasta is! the produce looks so fresh and inviting!
@@yaaridyer9501 I’ll tackle the produce another day, but those tomatoes were gorgeous!

Really enjoying this series tonight! Water is the secret ingredient of great meatballs. And the Loctatelli cheese of course!
Glad you enjoy it!
Great video! I think I've watched every Sunday sauce/gravy video on RUclips, it's just my thing... I'm from South Jersey, so I get all of your references and it shows that Mom taught you very well. I married into an Italian family and have embraced the food culture fully, but it took many years before I finally accepted that "Gravy" term... But I finally succumbed... LOL
Thanks for watching!
Review is in from Amy - "super good"
They taste like the real thing!
I hope to see Philly soon
It’s a great city!
This is the funniest food video I've ever seen! Comedy duo! Hilarious! And wow does the meal look DELICIOUS at the end!
Ok, I resent this introductory paragraph. It was not a "very hot kitchen." It was unseasonably warm. It was not "chaos." I prefer "bedlam and possibly the rapture."

😂🎉😂❤
Your video shows the skill, creativity and love that goes into every bite.
Beautiful!
I’ve never had it does it taste like Swiss chard?
It's kind of like a slightly bitter broccoli. If you boil is for a minute or two it's not that bitter. It's really nice on a sandwich, but also as a side dish.
That looks amazing
It was really good!
After Googling this (and being schooled by a few Jewish friends) I found out this is indeed Jewish! I don't know why I thought it was Italian. Anyway, the oil makes it Kosher. Live and learn!
My sister asked me about the dressing. She wanted measurements (note: we don't measure things in my family, and she knows that) - for my one salad, I used about two teaspoons of mayo, a squirt of ketchup and maybe a few tablespoons of white vinegar just to thin it out to my liking. I'd say mayo to ketchup 2:1 and vinegar to taste and to how thick/thin you want the dressing. Experiment.
