"Are we naming them now?" I just now got that joke lol. This show just keeps on giving haha
I miss doing shit like this with friends.
Do you think don went to the waitstaff at one point and asked for all of his refills to be water?
Jazz music name?
It's later mentioned in the series that he was in fact killed in Vietnam
the last time Don saw M , he was asking her to leave for paris after he got the $2500 bonus. when she refused to go with her, he left her the $2500 cheque and told her to buy a car. Don is always very generous to his women. its sad to see this part that once a free spirit woman ended up in a desperate drug addict.
Couldn't tell if the 'cheesecake fact' was just a joke (although it seemed too specific to be a joke) so I looked it up, and it was true! Although back then, it was made only using flour, wheat, honey and cheese
“And He Vomits like a Mad-Man After” 🤣
I was literally getting nauseous watching this scene the first time. Martinis/vermouth are like kryptonite to me, something about the vermouth just makes my stomach wretch and I don't like olives either. Oysters, well you can keep those foul smelling phlegm balls. All the fish shit, water from the sewage plant, heavy metals from industry and diesel spilled from boats gets filtered thru them.
I've had Wellfleet Oysters at the Cape. Had to overcome some mental hurdles, but they were quite tasty. Not something I would get often though.
Don f'd the s out of Roger after the check...
hedonism
Sputnik and Muttnik!
Two dozen oysters, vermouth, and cheesecake? That has to be the most disgusting meal I've ever seen.
At 0:34, I noticed that Don throws his toothpick into the glass twice. It's a little error, unnoticeable amidst all the great acting going on.
How much $$ for a dozen these days?
If you have to ask...
if you have your own company, that is what you do.
For a show that took pains to be authentic, it always seemed like the one unbelievable thing was that no middle aged men could eat, drink and smoke like Roger and Don and still look like John Slattery and Jon Hamm.
I wonder how much that meal cost back in 1960.
What a time to be alive.
That, "Are you OK?" hit Don hard. He knows he has a problem. Megan knows he has a problem. It was just the worst time for it to come out. I really hate Megan.
These two banging each other?
They talk like douchebags
Christ I feel so bad for Joan
Man, that's the life.
In France, this would have been considered a short and light lunch break
This might just be the best scene in this entire series 😂
1:32 lol
That’s right you were a navy man
Going to Heaven (and therefor not going to hell) is actually a free gift from God. "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." John 3:36. Jesus of Nazareth, The Son of God, died for the remission of sin, including yours, was buried and rose from the dead on the third day. Whoever believes on him to save them from hell has everlasting life in heaven. Jesus himself said in John 6:47 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life."
Around 2:26 I love seeing actors manage two layers of emotion like this
Peggy's evolution in this series is one of the greatest in all of television. And while every character in this show was impeccably written & performed, the relationship between Don & Peggy was the most fascinating.
I did not realize Howard Stark loved oysters so much!!
This is why i dont have grandpa's
Hollywood is so shitty! Who are the people that control Hollywood! They’re shitty humans!!
I got as far as the third episode, where Mr. Complex ditches his daughter on her birthday. Can't even look at a character like that.
We’ve all had one of these days with the boys - just fuck it - it’s Friday afternoon a big work event, meeting, week -let’s get shitty
I keep coming back to this scene, just seems like fun
What type of oysters?
Will somebody please take me on this date?
I know that Megan's mom is supposed to be regal and Herb's wife is supposed to be a dimbulb, but I'm a little on team Herb's wife here. So she's enthusiastic about her puppies. Big deal, sure she's boring, but be happy for her. It's low class trash behavior to diss her right in front of her face. She's married to a scumbag, and being judged by a vendor's bitchy MIL. Meanwhile she's probably the only nice person at that table.
Marie's just miserable and that kind of juvenile glee reminds her of how much her misery contrasts with her bliss.
Great scene so glad they brought Rose Marie DeWitt back for this scene
a ton of hard alcohol and a ton of oysters, sounds like a great combination. I'm sure their stomachs and guts thanked them later that night 😂😂👌👌
this was a weak move by jon. he used subterfuge and trickery to get back at roger for making the move to his wife. real beta. he should’ve confronted him, like a man.
"And you are starving... and not just for diner. " Beautiful line, great delivery by Elizabeth Moss.
Big chilling. Massive chilln
4 martinis is 8 drinks lol, that's insane for dinner let alone lunch
Especially since they were supposed to meet prospective clients right after.
How tf do you go back to work after this?
After this scene, Don bribes the doorman to shut down the elevator and force Roger to climb dozens of flights of stairs. Roger ends up puking on a client's shoes. Revenge for Roger drunkenly hitting on Betty. All the while, Don acts supportive and like he was having a wonderful time. Now that's a smart and foolproof way of getting even.
this is lame and cliche. tossing out random useless trivia to show off "THIS guys is smart!", drinking and smoking in suits to make it look "cool" and rapid one liners that doesn't sound like natural dialog. its fantasy porn, no different than what hallmark movies are for women
