Mamiya RZ67 Review - Is It The Best Medium Format Camera?
Thank you for posting what you shot.
Great video.
Nice shots I got one recently, I´ll try and I dont know what can results obtain, hey what about your backpack, where can I buy someone like yours! I like it, thnxs
Does this work for any 120 camera?
This was super helpful thank you so much!
Just wanna know the importance of this? You're not shooting no film ( which is the main reason for shooting a film camera - the unique look of the film stock), you get 50mpx for an outrageous cost of 20k and all it does is take photos, No Videos and not Analog, plus it's not even medium format ( for it to be smaller than 6x4.5) do you know you can buy 3 GFX or 2 Hasselblad xqd ( can't remember the model ) for the cost of only this digital back.. This is a worthless investment to me.. The digital back was used back in the flintstone time and it pales in comparison to modern APS-C/DX crop sensor cameras..period
this is my favorite film stock because of the pastel look and greens in the shadow.. I guess you scanned these yourself.. when you home scan pro400h, you get that pink in the highlight and midtones but lab results don't give that.. wonder why.. otherwise i thought it was a great video
I remember making an adapter like that for the Bronica GS1, you can avoid wasting film by adding some paper taped to the film, I don’t remember the exact size but I wasted an old 120 film to mesure the length of the backing paper, and then reported it. Great images by the way did you use Ektar 100 film ?
Thanks, I actually used Ultramax 400 film. And I don’t really shoot panos in my mamiya a lot so tapping the paper to the film for 1-2 shots isn’t really worth it to me at the moment.
Detailed and informative video. I was thinking of dusting off my 4 x5 Cambo, and i was wondering how to scan the plates and your video help me realize that there is this option you showed. Also have a 500 c/m Hasselblad, I was wondering if you are still using The Phase One Digital Back with it? Im totally clueless about Digital Backs and if there still an option to find one for that model?
I was just borrowing the phase one back. But there are a good amount of options for digital backs for the 500 cm. You have the phase one, leaf, and the new hasselblad backs will work as well. The leaf ones are probably going to be the most affordable option.
Para las panorámicas giras la camara? No entiendo cómo quedan horizontales
The 160 is good because it has a model dial instead of cycling buttons. You can click the dial 3x when powering on and have flash off vs all the models with buttons that revert to auto flash every time you turn it on. I just ordered the 160 just for that function.
That’s a lot more convenient to have than the buttons. I barely use my 120 and got it for $10 so I’m fine with it but if I ever come across a 160 I might be interested in picking one up.
Yes, that makes sense. There are no cheap second hand thrift cameras to be found where I live so I can't pick up an interesting looking model for a couple of bucks. I have the luxury/burden of doing research and seeking out a good price for my camera of choice. So I get the features in looking for but end up paying 2-4x the price.
just bought a 500cm and a phase one back. super stoked!
These are going for £150 in the UK
That’s crazy. It’s a nice little camera but not that nice
It's really cool. May I ask you something ? I have a Hasselblad 501CM and Phase One P65+ digital back; This digital back is currently compatible with Phase One 645 df+, which Hasselblad adapter should I buy?
....warum sind alle Farben verwaschen???🤔
50MP very impressive for 500 series V Hasselblad.
wow Im going to do this right now!
Awesome! Love the nostalgic look.
You do know that you can mount the phase back vertically right??
Great video 🎉
Insightful, thank you
I DIG IT! GLAD I STUMBLED UPON YOUR VIDEO!!! YOU KNOW...I SUBBED!💯🤘🏾🤘🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥
freeking cool !!!!!! i use a p25 and p45 backs on mine
Justine, you need to learn to speak without "you know" every 2 seconds. Trust me, it will be a loooot better. 🙂
Such great shots! Where did you source the film from?
she used regular 120 film that was modified but you can get respooled 120 on 620 spool from The Film Photography Project website
Great explanation, thanks.
What a great video - those shots turned out so nicely. How did you scan the negs?
I have a negative supply set up that is customizable so I can scan all types of 35mm sizes so that’s how I’m able to do panos
Great video! I have trouble with my right arm and holding a heavy camera can be uncomfortable. I find using a monopod helps.
Hi Justine. I’ve recently been watching your videos and have found them to be addictive. I have some questions for you, since I now own a Pentax p30t. In your video, what kind of film are you using for the colours to be so vibrant? My second question for you is how are you scanning your developed film to the computer? Is there a specific type of film scanner and program? Thank you for reading my comment Justine. Have a good rest of your day.
P.s, I know that the camera you’re using in the video is not your favorite. However, there are other cameras that you’ve used, which takes 400 film and the quality of your photographs look amazing. Hope this helped in terms of being more specific to my question about which type of film you use.
Thank you
one tip, you can get "masks" for the viewfinder, Phase one can provide some, to the format you are working with (to place on the viewing glass, to see the sensor size in the viewfinder). Also you have to set the back according to the system, so it knows how the shutter works, delay for firing, and also you have an electronic shutter you can use, if you add a CF lens on front, and put the shutter ring on F, to disable the shutter, and use the higher speeds the e-shutter has.
I'm a little confused by you pricing the IQ1 50 being $20k. In 2021, when this video was made, the IQ1 50 would have been discontinued. So a viewer would have been able to have purchased a pre-owned IQ1 50 for just $6k or so. Maybe a little more if purchasing a certified back from DT. So contrary to what you said, it's something the view could most likely afford. Roughly the same as a Leaf Credo.
I'm looking at them on eBay 3k right now
I loved the loud, springy CLINK! of the shutter button. 😄 You got yourself some very nice shots. I bet you had fun using the camera despite its flaws.
Thanks for this overview of the scanning process! RUclips suggested this video for me and I was curious to see what it was about. I've always scanned film using a flatbed scanner with adapters for placing strips of film over the glass, but that is too fussy and as you mentioned takes quite a bit of time. Could you also do a video on what's your post-scanning process like? I imagine that it should be straightforward to invert the negative digital image files, but do you use any specific software for this? Do you need to make any other adjustments to the images?
I use negative lab pro for converting my negatives and I already made a video going over it ruclips.net/video/9gvhuS5-2RQ/видео.html
Just shoot with a digital camera, this wont be NECESSARY!
Film photography is a hobby in its own right, just as valid as any other form. And, one could debate, it requires significantly more skill than any form of digital photography. If you can't function without your digital viewfinder, grid overlay, and automatic ISO, focus, etc., just say that.
Lovely takes! My Grandfather was a Yankees fan, got me to enjoy watching baseball without being bored 😅. Thanks for sharing!
Nice video. How do we get that Espon scan 2 driver? Thanks.
Great video!
Thanks!
Hail Darth Vader
Thank you very much! Quite an informative video
Thanks for sharing....
Interesting approach! Thanks for the video :)
What did you use to scan into digital ?
I've chosen this in 120 medium format. It's more useful.

Neat
Thanks for making this. I picked up my parents old camera so I appreciate your tutorial. I was in high school when the AE-1 was the hot seller, so yeah, I’m older than dirt. That being said I wish more beginning film photographers would start with this type of camera. Auto exposure, autofocus and auto film advance would allow the complete novice to be successful with their first roll.
Is it metal build or plastic?
There are some metal parts in it, but for the most part it’s plastic
around how many frames do you get with this? thanks.
Depending on how much you feed it when starting the roll you can get anywhere from 13-16 frames
@@justinewillard8481 Thanks!
