Hi. Thank you for the video. I have had elevated B12 for a few years. Could never get answers from doctors. I was exposed to high levels of radiation for almost 10 years. Lived in the area of Chernobyl Nuclear Plant explosion. My Dad died from multiple myeloma. I tried to ignore it. However, now when I have symptoms I can’t ignore it any longer. I was hospitalized twice in the past 2 months. Unusual fatigue, very heavy legs, dizziness, nausea, itchy skin. Did all the tests possible. MRI’s do not show anything. Doctors say that I am a mystery for them and that they are not equipped to deal with it. What do I do now? I do not supplement with vitamins nor do I eat dairy and meat. No processed foods. Who can help?

When a Lamborghini needs specific fuel rather than cheap garbage fuel do you call it weak? Or do you recognize it simply isn't a dump truck but rather a high performance vehicle. When a canary dies in a coal mine, do you call it genetically weak or do you thank it for its service and get out of the mine and stop letting people go into the mine until the mine is made more safe.

Why blame cheap synthetic vitamins and environmental toxins that are making high percentages of people with these variants sick and being used to "enrich" and "fortify" foods cheaply yet fuels billion dollar medical economy by keeping people ill. Why place the blame where it belongs when you can blame the humans and their dna as if the humans are the flaw rather than the system being the flaw by failing the humans with these gene SNPs. Lazy unethical mentally weak scientists. Greedy medical system. Psychotic world leaders that WANT people infertile and feel ENTITLED to do harm so long as it benefits themselves only.

I hope this can help at least someone. My elevated B12 levels were due to a B1 deficiency. I had both dry and wet Beriberi. If I understand it correctly B1 is crucial in the transportation chain of B12 and the other micro nutrients in to the cell. Elevated serum B12 is apparently common in a B1 deficiency. The entire chain breaks down without it.

I would start with organic acids test and thyroid. Minerals and heavy metals. Check lithium levels required for transport. Organic acids will reveal inborn errors of metabolism and blocks. I would not start with genes. Good work up first before even thinking genes. Remember, bacterial organisms can make up to 15 types of cobalamins. How healthy is your gut microbiome? Organic acid test will reveal pathogenic species.

My B-12 levels are slightly emevated, almost 1200. I am always tired, but do not sleep well I'm also diabetic and have blood pressure that spans high to very low(mostly high on the top and low bottom). I also have neurophy. Last March, i noticed my feet swelling. Went to see my doctor, who sent me immediately to emergency. My iron level was 7.2. the hospital kept me and started doing hourly blood test from. 7 pm. At 1 am, my iron dropped to 7 and i was goven a transfusion. They kept me for 3 days until my iron level was up to 9.7. iweighed myself the morning of my appointment, i was weighed again inmy drs office, then again at the hospital. I weighed 180. Within 30 days after my hospitalization, i weighed 144. Ive had a scope performed of my upper digestion, and a colonospy. Nothing found. Less than a yeat later, i weigh 124. All test results come back almost normal. Iron a little low, sefimentation high. Red blood cells large. And higher than normal B-12. Losing weight at about 1 1/2 pounds a month. Still tired and dont sleep for days. Any thoughts? Any further tests recommended?

I was diagnosed in 1999 with idiopathic peripheral neuropathy. Again in 2013. I was also diagnosed with diabetes Type 2 in 2014 (provoked through Spiricort given to suppress symptoms of Polymyalgia Rheumatica) and had a heart attack in 2019. For neuropathic pain relief I was started on Gabapentin and Cymbalta arund in 2012. Because of horrid cognitive side effects, Cymbalta was switched out for Effexor. Unfortunately, these cognitive side effects didn't stop, so I stopped using them. So, I ended up stopping these. 2015 - started taking the following instead: R-Lipoic Acid 300 (240) mg - 1-1-1-1 Acetyl-L-Carnitine 750 mg - 1-1-0-1 N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) 1000 mg - 1-0-1-0 Omega 3 (fish oil) 1000 mg - 1-0-1-0 Borage Oil 1000 mg (GLA = Gamma Linolenic Acid) - 1-1-1-0 (stopped 1. nov. 2023) Magnesium 100 mg - 1-1-1-1 These above have helped some. I came to use these through exclusionary processes. IOW, I'd take a substance for a while, noting sensations. Then I'd stop and see what happens. These above “passed” this exclusionary process. If I noticed an increase in severity of symptoms when stopping a substance, I could conclude, that it was actually helpful when I was taking it. I then added Benfotiamine starting on 15.08.2023. Helped greatly, most overt pain gone, but numbness still prevalent (time of writing 22.12.2023). Some stomach ache if dosage is over 150mg, so I take 100/150mg 1-1-0-0 / 150mg 0-0-1-0 and 250mg before going to bed (0-0-0-1) - I don't get stomach ache before going to sleep or during the night. I then added on September 5, 2023 (as it stands 25. Nov. 2023): Folic acid 1.7 mg 1-1-1-0 Biotin 5 mg 1-0-0-0 Methylcobalamin 1500 mcg 1-1-1-0 Vitamin B6 P5P 27mg 1-1-0-0 The 4 above plus Benfotiamine & R-Lipoic acid, according to this study, which has been cited many times in meta studies concerning use of supplements to treat neuropathy pain: Maladkar, M., Tekchandani, C. and Dave, U. After 12 weeks of treatment, the mean pain score declined by 78.0%, numbness by 92.1% and muscle weakness by 96.9%. Also, there was 96.0% & 99.2% reduction in tingling & burning sensation respectively. No serious adverse events were reported. Conclusion: The current study confirms that fixed dose combination of Methylcobalamin, ALA, Folic Acid, Biotin, Benfotiamine & Vitamin B6 is effective & well tolerated in the management of peripheral neuropathy.” “This PMS included 497 patients with peripheral neuropathy and was conducted at 5 different centers by qualified investigators. The efficacy of the treatment was assessed based on improvement in parameters like neuropathic pain, numbness, muscle weakness, tingling and burning. Investigation of parameters was performed throughout the treatment period on: visit I (baseline), visit II (week 4), visit III (week 8) and visit IV (week 12).” “Patients with peripheral neuropathy were orally administered fixed dose combination of Methylcobalamin 1500 mcg, ALA 200 mg, folic acid 5 mg, biotin 5 mg, Benfotiamine 50 mg & vitamin B6 5 mg once daily for 12 weeks.” Hakim, M., Kurniani, N., Pinzon, R. B6 Toxicity: Pyridoxine HCL vs Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate (P5P) According to the studies I seen, Pyridoxine HCL an issue when: 1) one takes >200mg/day - some set the limit @ >1000mg/day 2) over months if not years 3) I've read a peer reviewed paper1, which explained why Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate (P5P) doesn’t cause harmful side effects/B6-toxicity like Pyridoxine HCL does. I've also watched medical videos, some of which were talks at medical institutes or schools, which said the same. Interestingly, all commecially available preparations for neuropathy pain which include B6, ONLY do so in the Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate (P5P) form. None do so as Pyridoxine HCL. 4) The value of Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate (P5P) has been shown by dozens of studies, that those who already have neuropathy experience reduced neuropathic discomfort with therapeutic dosages of Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate (P5P). Vrolijk MF, Opperhuizen A, Jansen EHJM, Hageman GJ, Bast A, Haenen GRMM. (2017) The vitamin B6 paradox: Supplementation with high concentrations of pyridoxine leads to decreased vitamin B6 function. Toxicol In Vitro. 2017 Oct;44:206-212. doi: 10.1016/j.tiv.2017.07.009. Epub 2017 Jul 14. PMID: 28716455. „In conclusion, the present study strongly indicates that the neuropathy observed after taking a relatively high dose of vitamin B6 supplements is due to the vitamer that is used in the supplements, namely pyridoxine. The inactive form pyridoxine competitively inhibits the active pyridoxal-phosphate. As a consequence, the paradox arises that the symptoms of vitamin B6 supplementation are similar to those of vitamin B6 deficiency. Vitamin B6 supplements are used by a large number of people. The safety of vitamin B6 is debated and recently EFSA has lowered the upper limit for vitamin B6. The question is whether lowering the safe dose for vitamin B6 is the solution. Remarkably, even at relatively low dose, vitamin B6 supplementation has given rise to complaints. Our study indicates that the toxicity of vitamin B6 is not only determined by the dose, but by the vitamer in which it is taken. Perhaps it might be better to replace pyridoxine by pyridoxal or pyridoxal-phosphate as vitamin B6 supplements, which are much less toxic. In this way, the vitamin B6 paradox may potentially be prevented.“ Concerning Pyridoxine HCL Carlos-Alberto Calderon-Ospina, Mauricio Orlando Nava-Mesa & Ana María Paez-Hurtado (2021) Update on Safety Profiles of Vitamins B1, B6, and B12: A Narrative Review, Therapeutics and Clinical Risk Management, 16:, 1275-1288, DOI: 10.2147/TCRM.S274122 www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.2147/TCRM.S274122 An excerpt: “Relevant original articles on neurotoxicity of vitamin B6 in humans obtained by our searches included seven case reports/series, one prospective study, and one case-control study (Table 1).Citation39-,Citation47 In half of them, neurotoxic side-effects of vitamin B6 were mostly due to very high doses and/or long-term treatment and resolved after treatment cessation.Citation39-Citation41 Specifically, reported clinical neuropathy cases occurred in a timeframe of 2-24 months depending on the administered dose: after 12 months or longer with doses of ≤2,000 mg/day, and after less than 12 months with doses >2,000 mg/day.Citation39-Citation46 The first clinical assessment study of pyridoxine-induced neurotoxicity in humans by Schaumburg et alCitation47 included seven patients with severe sensory neuropathy in the extremities after taking 2,000-6,000 mg/day pyridoxine for 2-40 months. Four of these individuals were not able to walk. All symptoms, assessed through objective neurological diagnosis, improved after medication discontinuation.Citation47 Another case series report by Parry and BredesenCitation46 studied 16 patients with neuropathy (all assessed by history and examination, seven electrophysiologically confirmed diagnoses, two sural nerve biopsies) after taking 100-5,000 mg/day pyridoxine for up to 72 months. Patients with doses ≤500 mg/day showed neuropathy after 23 months on average, while those taking 5,000 mg/day developed symptoms on average after around 3 months. In contrast, none of the patients taking 50 mg/day for <6 months presented with neuropathy, but when the intake exceeded 6 months, 20% developed symptoms.Citation46 These results indicate an association between neuropathy and dose/duration of vitamin B6 use, suggesting that 50 mg/day for <6 months is safe. As here, in the publications describing cases with persisting symptoms after vitamin B6 discontinuation (Table 1),Citation42-Citation45 it was unclear whether the neurological symptoms were only attributable to vitamin B6 treatment or were favored by underlying diseases or co-medication. The study from Dalton and DaltonCitation41 deserves special attention because it is usually cited when the potential neurotoxicity of low doses such as 50 mg is discussed.Citation25 However, the study design has often been criticized, for example by the Food and Nutrition Board of the Institute of Medicine (IOM), because neurological symptoms were not adequately detailed and actual doses may have been underestimated due to parallel intake of vitamin supplements; thus, the study appears unsuitable for determining the upper limit.Citation35” “We conclude that neurological side-effects due to vitamin B6 are rare, habitually reversible, and usually occur after taking high daily doses (>500 mg/day) and/or longer treatment (>6 months).”

OK, so now we get down to my central question. So many studies, many double-blind placebo studies, showing massive reductions in existing neuropathic symptoms, about 1/2 showing even nerve regenerations ... what should someone like me do, who, as the subjects in these studies, have experienced massive reductions in pain and discomfort, even though my B6 and B12 levels are high? In other words, my neuropathy came when levels were normal. All "other" possible causes were excluded through testing in 1999 and twice in 2013. Including HIV and MS. And yet the symptoms increased until I added the neurotropic B vitamins (plus) in August 2023, upon which the symptoms reduced massively, in the same manner as in the above listed studies. What I'm missing in the video is ... anything that a patient or doctor can actually do in a practical sense to deal with neuropathy.

THANK YOU, for so much good information!! It is so great to hear doctors interested in preventive/functional medicine vs just prescribing medicines. You are actually looking into the root causes so that the condition can hope to be corrected vs just treating symptoms. Love that!! My Family Med doctor tested my ferritin (iron) level a year and a half ago because I have been chronically anemic and she was considering iron supplementation. Well, it was a surprise to find my ferritin level was at least 4X more than normal (897)! So I had the genetic test for hemochromatosis and indeed, I've got that genetic mutation. After that she tested my folate and vitamin B12 levels. Folate was normal (>24). Vitamin B12 was high (">2000"). I was taking a B12 supplement every day (5,000 mcg as methylcobalamin). I stopped taking that on my own when I got the results, with my md's knowledge. NOW I am wondering if my iron overload could have hindered transport of Vitamin B12 across my cell membranes, (you kind of alluded to that potential?) thus leaving an excess of B12 in my bloodstream... Because I also have a LOT of the symptoms of B12 deficiency! AND I am wondering if an intracellular deficiency of B12 could be responsible for my anemia! Crazy, huh? My bone marrow biopsy indicated that I don't produce enough RBC's. I have been going for phlebotomy frequently to decrease my ferritin levels and it is now down to normal (80). =) They only take 400mls at a time because of my anemia. (My Hgb is usually just over 11, hct low 30's.) So now that I understand more, I will be asking my Hemotologist (actually an NP) to re-check another B12 level now that my ferritin level is normal, and if it's still high, to pursue further testing to determine WHY, as you have so clearly indicated its importance!! I will be checking your website, and referring my Hematology NP to it!

This is good information and I thank you for sharing. But it's sad to go to the links for YGT and the Facebook page only to find they no longer exist. WHO does one go to for this kind of testing? I just looked up "geneticists" in my area and there are none. :-( If I understood the info correctly, if I have neuropathy symptoms.... and my B6 shows up as high, I may still benefit from taking a medical form of B6 to get the needed vitamin INSIDE the cells?

So ive been dealing with idiopathic neuropathy in both feet for a few years now and my doctor just shrugs his shoulders and im not diabetic and i have finally found out about this and i got to thinking you know ive consumed energy drinks for probably the past 15 years pretty much everyday and probably more than one a day and i see those things are loaded with the synthetic version of B6 and not the active version....i personally feel im very B6 toxic...any advice on how to detox for this....ive stopped drinking the energy drinks and now pay attention to everything i consume.

I am so glad I came across this information! I was told to take B6 , B2 and a few other things. From early March until June 30th I was not able to walk and the pain was excruciating! I had seen doctor after after doctor and no one knew what was happening. As a mom of two boys, it killed me to not be able to walk at all! I was TERRIFIED and the pain never went away. I got my blood tested and the B6 was flagged HIGH. I stopped taking it for over two weeks now and feel less pain and can walk a little more every day. I’m praying I fully heal one day soon! Now I need to look further into this! Thank you!!

I found to my surprise that a lot of vitamin companies put unsafe amounts of B6 into B group vitamins, while I take decent doses of most B vitamins these days I only get 6mg B6 every day from supplements, this works fine for me. Gradually reducing the B6 dose to 6mg was all I needed to recover myself from toxic levels of B6, I hope that it is the same with you.

Don’t worry you’ll make a full recovery ❤️‍🩹 to speed up the detox sweat in a sauna or get a recumbent bike where you sit back in the seat and peddle while you watch RUclips and ride it 30 minutes a day to detox, exercise helps moves stuff out quicker through your lymph’s

I know 2 people with MTHFR mutation and double dose of B6 in the blood. Does it mean that it can’t be turned into active form and the body is in deficit? Do they have to supplement with the activated form? How to get rid of this blood excess? They don’t supplement.

In most cases just decrease your B6 intake from supplements to below 12mg per day and the problems will probably resolve, I feel your pain btw, I went from 200mg B6 to 6mg B6 in supplements when I became aware of the danger, never been healthier and happier.

Thanks for your video, I have high b12 around 1350 and have never taken b12 supplement, my doctor have no idea why this is the case but the main issue for me is that I now have severe chronic insomnia and could go 4 days in a row with absolute zero sleep for 18 months now which has ruined my life. I have had three mri scan of my brain, two sleep studies and other blood tests but have found no cause gor this terrible insomnia, what specific blood tests should I have? Could the insomnia be caused by high b12? I had to stop buying any cereal or food that listed b12 on the ingredients list, pls reply

I also have severe insomnia. I hate having to take meds, but would have been dead years ago without them. My body started seriously breaking down without sleep. I still don't get the restorative sleep I need, even with meds. Used to be able to fall asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow and could sleep deeply for over ten hours if given the chance. Then one day I couldn't. Was up for a week straight when it started, just with micro naps that sometimes literally lasted only seconds . I about went nuts.

Ask your primary Doctor to give you a referral to a hematologist/ oncologist. It could also be VERY helpful to check with a Naturopathic Doctor and have them do a total tox burden urine test, blood tests, hair analysis test. etc. to check for mold, fungus, heavy metals, & parasites in the blood, urine, and other tissues of the body. Apparently almost all cancers are caused by fungus and parasites.

You also need to have intrinsic factor tested. If you are positive, you have pernious anemia .
