FIRST TIME Hearing Nightwish's ROMANTICIDE (Reaction & Analysis)
Following Ghost Love Score and Storytime, this is my first listen, reaction and thoughts about the live wacken 2013 concert performance of Nightwish's "Romanticide" (from the perspective of a songwriter and vocalist). I really enjoyed the guttural nature of both the song and Marko's vocals, with Floor soaring to even crazier heights! I can't wait to check out more from the band.

Enjoyed your reaction. May I make a suggestion? Listen to the album in its entirety with us. It feels a bit fragmented. I'd rather hear the whole album with you and see your comments actually form. Otherwise I did enjoy this.
thank you so much for taking the time, connecting with this album, and showing it ☺
Kate did another concept B-side on a layer album. I hope when you get to it that you share it with us here. I wish i could go back and hete ut for the first time again. You have much to look forward to.
This is one take, no edits. She’s unique.
Thanks ! Keep it on !
I was waiting for your reaction to 'Waking the Witch' 😅
There are certain songs that come along now and again that make history........Wuthering Heights being one of them.......written at 14!!!!.......Baker Street is another
@iangray3854 Kate actually wrote that 5 March '77. A few months before her 19th birthday. You're probably thinking of "Man With The Child In His Eyes" written at 13.
And she sang it in just one take...
This album was the first album I'd ever bought in 30+ years ago, it had given me an impression that songs could be made not only in styles of pop, rock, blues, jazz ...etc, but also in such an unique imaginative, creative and influential story telling art. Kate is a legend. Bravo Kate!!
I have just discovered her. Your take is right on. I think this is best chorus ever!
My God, your tears on hearing 'Hello Earth' really affected me. I'm 53 and I listened to the whole album on repeat on a holiday in Ireland (Bush is a Londoner of Irish heritage) when I was 16. Your eyes are so expressive. Amazing RUclips video. Thank you xx
To really "get" this song I think you need to be at least familiar with the basic plot of Wuthering Heights, and to know something of the doomed, Gothic atmosphere of the novel. Of course anyone can appreciate it as a piece of music and a vocal performance but the lyrics add so much context to why its written and performed the way it is.
masterpiece
She is so unique, there is no other like her. There are so many "Kate Bush songs you HAVE TO HEAR" She is a musical genius, oh and she is BEAUTIFUL!! Oh there is a male interoperation of this song, checkout ANGRA Cover: ruclips.net/video/bzBThio4R0M/видео.html
I'm glad you went in blind. You can look up interviews in which she breaks down the meaning behind everything, but honestly, it's a disservice to new listeners. The music evokes so much imagination, it only adds to the pleasure. Giving away that meaning rationalizes it too much.

The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever is celebrated worldwide! She is overwhelmingly talented.
Stuuuuuuuuuuuubbs... I mean Peter 😊❤
The Ninth Wave is so, so good (words words words cannot do it justice). Del Palmer's bass playing for Kate is *outstanding*, n'est-ce pas? As you enjoyed the bass here, I would point you to Mick Karn's playing, particulary with the band Japan (Tin Drum and Gentlemen Take Polaroids LP's especially and the live Oil on Canvas, where one can watch him move in his inhuman ways while playing - which is a special treat)
Give yourself an equally epic sonic/intellectual gift and give the same track by track treatment of Kate Bush’s extraordinary album “The Dreaming”- songs from the perspective of Houdini’s girlfriend, or a Viet Kong soldier are just some of the succulence you have awaiting you. It is a masterpiece very much of the same order as HOL, only even more batshit beautiful crazy!!!
Hello earth and dream of sheeps still make me cry, after all dose years . Im fan when I was 5 now this month im 52
Most first listens to 'Waking the witch,' get a what the.... reaction.
Clearly a musical genius to rival any composer of any era. I’ve had this album on my playlist for many years.
I LOVE Kate Bush. You should check out the band Shakespears Sister and their eerie ballad “Stay”, a UK number one back in the early 90s which is due a resurgence anytime soon.
Dear Peter, That was very respectful: you didn't interrupt; instead, your comments were written on the screen during the performance of the song. I really like that! Wuthering Heights: A ground-breaking song. Kate has never been interested in "playing it safe" by bowing to musical trends; she does her own thing. Now, some people really dislike her; but others - like me(!) think she's a genius. (I think she's the greatest singer-songwriter of all time - and yes: I recognise what a massive claim that is!) Let me put it this way: I've never met anyone who says, 'Kate Bush? Yeah, she was pretty good; wrote a few decent tunes... I think she's quite good - but no more than that.' You either love her music, or hate it! Thinking about your question, Peter... If it's a Kate Bush video: "Moments of Pleasure" - an incredibly moving, autobiographical song. (My favourite ever song of hers.) If it's by another artist: "Disco Lasers" by Ebony Buckle - an amazing, melodic, left-field song from an original, proggy/art pop singer-songwriter. The video is majestic! (You won't regret giving it a view.) Thanks for reading this. Very best wishes for your future success, Phil (new subscriber)
The Knife mentioneddd! s2 great vid
This album is good and so affecting for those of an artistic bent. I did an oil painting based on the imagery in the song And Dream of Sheep. The only other occasion I have done this was with David Bowie's The Bewlay Brothers. Great reaction.

You are about to discover a whole world of beautiful, original fantastic music unlike anything you've ever known. I love Kate Bush.
Have you got a birthday coming up ? Please wish a decent pair of over-ear headphones, for yourself, so you can get the full aural splendour of Kate Bushs' incredible music.😊
This album came about when she was introduced to the newly invented Fairlight - which enabled the samples of planes, helicopters etc. to be incorporated in the songs. She went back to her house built a studio and over the next two years this masterpiece was the result.
She is a pure English rose ,who has interpreted Emily Bronte's novel in a spooky ,epic way ,the love cathy feels for Heathcliff comes out in the song in a powerful way . Best listened too on The Bleak ,wild Yorkshire moors where the story is based . Its magical .
How perfect would it be to get 2 truly inspirational artists (not just musicians... Kate Bush and Ren together? That is an experience that might break the interwebz.
Nobody is prepared for that first pre-chorus!
The male voice choir in Hello Earth is singing a traditional folkloristic Georgian (the country) song called ''Tsintskaro'' performed by the Richard Hickox Singers. Look it up on RUclips for an original Georgian version. The song was also used in the German Dracula movie ''Nosferatu the vampyre''.
Thanks for the update...on a song that's over 45 years old.
Yeah, everyone's got a fisrt time they heard Bach too....
I don’t Believe you haven’t heard it
Peter...I would highly recommend Bowie's Aladdin Sane track from the album of the same name....its incredible! PS: The whole album is MEGA!
Brilliant review, loved every minute. Still has the same emotional effect that it did with me nearly 40 years ago. Thank you.
Hi, I wanted to thank you for listening to the different types of music with an open mind. Kate Bush is unfortunately not well known, but Stranger Things managed to popularize one of her songs to the larger audience that would probably never find her without it. That is cool. If you are interested in a less known, but great music, I suggest listening to some Ayreon songs. It's a Dutch music project with loads of singers (their live concerts have cca 15+ singers) and instrumentalists. Ayreon and other projects by a Dutch songwriter, singer and multi-instrumentalist Arjen Lucassen are a combination of rock, metal, folk and electronica. Their live concert from the last year (Beneath the Waves) is one of the more unique concerts in the recent years. You could start with "The Day the World Breaks Down, from Beneath the Waves 2023", but all songs are great, no fillers, so it doesn't really matter which one you would pick.
I'm a bit jealous for those who are just discovering the genius and beauty of Kate Bush -- you now have The Dreaming, and The Kick Inside, and 50 Words for Snow, and Aerial to hear for the first time. Kate truly is a one-off and I'm so glad I've had her music in my life for almost four decades.
You put a smile on my face. Another great reaction!!!!!
Great Reaction !!!!!🤘
Awesome
Your emotions are exactly what I went through about a year ago when I got this album. Thank you for doing this
She was discovered by the drummer or guitarist for Pink Floyd in the 70’s
David Gilmour
@strangerthings88 Dave Gilmour knew Ricky Hopper, who was a friend of the family.
Your gnomes are awesome i have a few too 😂❤
